okay for some reason youtube took down all the Uchu no Senshi episodes that were uploaded in spite of the fact that it is IMPOSSIBLE to find this series anymore! What are they thinking? not selling something and then taking out anyone who provides it!?

OVA sucks, just like the book. I'm amazed they could actually make an entertaining movie out of the terrible source material.

Movie sucks. OVA rules. The M.I. are not conscripts nor cannon fodder. They are an elite fighting force. They do not waste lives nor do mad human waves. Hell, they didn't have the kickass exo-suits like the OVA has. And where in hell did the psychic thing come from?

The Neo-dogs, for example, are linked "telepathically" to their owners; meanwhile, near the conclusion there was implication of telepaths called Special Talents who mapped out the tunnel system. In addition, the Bugs are implied to be telepathically tied to each other. Also there are other aliens in Heinlein's other novels that have telepathy such as the Slugs from the Puppet Masters to the "Locals" in Red Planet.

I love this OVA! I love the character designs, I think the animators were going for a realistic look and they really nailed the technology and the society of the novel perfectly.

They should redo the movie, make it more closer the book but add elements from the OVA.

I'd say the Bugs from the 1976 boardgame. The SST boardgame had depictions of the Bugs in the instructions an the back of the box. The game is the truest to the book.

True. the movie will always remind me of paul reading a bit, said "i'll do it my own way" winging it, and you get a movie of zerg rushing infantry with guns that die faster than a family of lemmings running into on-going traffic.
