  • Dont forget that the Rutland 913 is only 50w so it will never provide a noticeable contribution to any battery bank bigger than a single motorbike battery.

  • what is the wind speed at time of vidio?

  • another awesome hornet video.

  • fuck you

  • We have purchased a Hornet 1000 to compliment our solar panels. Is there a lot of vibration generated as we are fixing to the end of garage? Being advised to put antivibration brackets. Also is yours a 24v or 48v? We run a 24v system off grid but the windmill is 48v. Can you perceive any problems? Finally, we also have a Rutland but took it out of service as it did not seem to contribute very much to the battery charging! However, may reinstall it later.

  • Hi there. as you can see from the vid mine is also fitted to my garage. I used a 21 foot scaffold pole with wall mounting brackets there was no need for anti-vibration pads. if you do use a scaffold pole fix the hornet into it with a screw so the poles don't twist within each other as this does make a bit of a racket in the building its fixed to. I have a 24v model which charges a 2000 amp battery bank which is set up on 12v and I have used this set up for over a year now with no problems.

  • Thanks. I will pass this on to the electricians installing for me.

  • P.S

If you can use a second scaffold pole to stiffen the structure along with a couple of guy wires, as there is nothing funny about trying to take it down at 2 in the morning as it is whipping around in the wind and sparks are coming of it were the blades as bending back so far the plate is touching the PMA.

    Trust me I know :.)

  • Hi there the Hornet only made this noise as I had put it on Grid tie inverter, which does not produce a load on the turbine. I have used a AirX and found it well over rated around 40% in my opinion.

Since this video I have hooked the turbine back up to a battery bank of 800 amps which at the moment is being charged quite fast due to good winds and you can not hear it at all.

The rutland is a nice little turbine but no giant killer by any means nice for charging

    battery's

    hope it helps

  • Is it true that Rutland is more quiet and more durable than other wind turbines? I heard someone complaining that his Hornet made terrible noise and fell into pieces in a strong wind while Rutland performed very well. Many thanks for this film!
