beautiful truck, got one just like it only blue and silver, wish mine was in such good shape. my exhaust sounds more throatier though, but yeah, SWEET! gotta love the Cummins!!!!!
@jmanwild yes and kms and miles are different. im talking miles. and your friend has nothing on those durashits. i know cause i have one with 352k miles. or 566k km. and its a piece of shit. not worth a damn
@jmanwild if if you keep replacing engines you can have 3mil+ miles on a truck body. and yes they can be that bad, because they are. a friend of mine had a durashit with 270k MILES. mine is getting there too. im just a little luckier than him. he traded it in because it was about ready to give out. if you have proper tuning, you can get 1500hp out of a durashit or powerstroke. cummins are shit, cant do it. all durashits have injector problems 01-02 also had head gasket problems.
ok first off, no, you cant get 1500 horse out of a powerstroke or "durashit" (real clever)
demetri millard is the only one in the world to break 1300 horse on a durm, to date.
as well, noone has made even close to those number on a powerstroke, even cummins its rare to get a 1500 horse one. lots of guys struglgle to get past 1200
@jmanwild why does anyone need that much power? compensating for something i guess. ok so i was wrong, you cant get 1500hp out of a truck. the most i have is 330 and im getting around, somehow.
@jmanwild demetri just broke 1500 with his. but that's rare. most dmax's don't see more than 1000. cummins is the only motor that turns the big numbers, 1500 to 2000 hp. but with that having been said there is so much engineering into those trucks that they are 100 percent purpose built. most of them are sled pull trucks. although ts performance has a 1500 hp drag truck. but most people don't understand what it takes to make any truck turn numbers like that. it's insane.
@THEuncleshank i gotta correct you on this. to date, as far as i know, no dmax or powerstroke has turned more hp than a cummins. if you have state of the art tuning, access to the best of everything, and a machine shop, or you're just filthy rich, you can get a dmax to 1500 hp. demetri millard just did it. but i've never ever seen a dmax get higher than that. and there are plenty of 2000 hp 5.9 cummins out there. cummins is the best powerhouse out there. period. and they don't break as much.
don't trash that gorgeous 1st gen! oh hell it's too fun to resist. haa

Diesel Power had a guy with 1.4 million miles on his and its a 01 model. If they are maintained they will go forever.
Mattster2k6 2 years ago 2
I doubt you'll have to worry; from what i've been told Cummins are barely broken in when they hit 200k.
Most diesels can live to see 4 or 500k miles before they need any major work; main reason i'm making my next vehicle a cummins Ram 8)
LRCVWDude 2 years ago 5
it doesnt matter if you have a cummins or powerstroke, they will both go up to 500k, duramax on the other had will never get that far

@THEuncleshank i know a guy who got 450,000 km on the first, and is currently over 400 on the second which is still goin. durms arent that bad.
both engines were in the same 01 durm, which was drivin very very hard and it has over 850,000 km

@THEuncleshank its one truck dude.
850+ on one truck. 2 engines.
but, i know the durms cant be that bad, take a look at demitri whatever the heck his last name is from diesel power challenge this year?
on youtube dynoing 1585 horse in a durm.
hard to see those numbers in a cummins so im impressed

@THEuncleshank hey mines under 250!
im not saying its necessary, im saying all of the big 3's diesels have come a long way.
just like how dodges trucks have taken leaps and bounds, as far as the actual truck/drivetrain goes.

@THEuncleshank haha its funny cause u sound like your trying to convince me its not good.
if you knew what the truck went through you'd be impressed. no its not a cummins but its not bad either, still better then a gas...
