Lethal. I saw a show on the animal planet called fatal animal attractions . Well the chic had tens of snakes many were rattlers and she also had a gaboon . She used to let it out and clean its cage. She thought she had a personal freindship with the gaboon well needless to say they found her dead with blood all over her trailer. She started bleeding through all of her orafices
@Brandonisrad18 a python at 10ft long can kill you if it grabs you right. a dog can kill you. a horse can kill you. a gaboon viper just kills you quicker.
@702justin702 Exactly, point proven. Why the fuck would you want something that can kill you in a few seconds with a strike as fast as lightning? Thats stupid.
Nice looking snake. However the comment about your friend who owns him just grabbing it and picking it up leads to me to believe that the person shouldn't be owning the snake. Don't know the whole situation of course, but these types of snakes shouldn't be treated as pets and should be respected more than being so casual as picking them up and handling them with no precaution at all.
idiots owning and handling these snakes in there homes will end up dead by it one day, noone who owns venomous snakes gets away from getting bite over a life time. the gaboon vipers venom can kill within 15 minutes and makes you bleed out of every hole in your body....good luck......but you will get it one day
Just imagine those fangs puncturing ur skin the amount of venom it would deliver but still it's a beautiful snake and it still wouldn't put me off buying 1 if I had the chance lol
keeping a venemous snake is like keeping a fish, you just watch them. unless of coarse you take the fish out to play with it, but it would die. if you take out the snake to play with it, in that case, you die.
I love the video and I love this viper. Nice vid. And everyone should know there is nothing wrong with keeping a viper as a pet if you have sense enough to know what your doing. If you don't like them then don't watch it but don't hinder everyone else who does and who loves and respects these animals
you can buy these for around 60$ here in PA (or up the price a tad pit to $75 and get yourself a rhino viper) where you can own anything!!! Love this state =]
Hey ! I live in Maine and one of these was found dead on trail out back of a movie theatre in saco Maine! two weeks ago Sombody must have let it go it was five feet long and did not have a chance in march in maine. It was in the Bangor daily news and was about 56 degrees that day which is pretty warm for maine in march!
talk to people in the military lol. i live in one of the SMALLEST towns (boroughs) in PA, and theres alligators, pit vipers, etc floating around but if your 14 dont expect anyone to sell you one. gotta know whats going on they will kill you if u just let it bite u and not do shit about it lol.
@ryder1879 haha does he have a permit for it? Dont you need one for a poisonous snake like that one? Epsecially when its venom is known for killing people in some cases up to 15 min?
@USCisgay one bite from that snake there makes you bleed out of every hole you have. you eventually die from hemorrhaging/blood lose while screaming in agony. you still want one?
Its readjusting its jaw, since its made of four independently moving parts and has the ability to dislocate each to open wider, after a meal they open and close over and over in attempts to get the bones back to their origional positions
The Rhinocerous viper is a sub-species of the Gaboon - its more or less the same snake, simply a difference in its colour tones, and the addition of more horns.
I love these snakes, they are incredible creatures... but I personally wouldn't risk owning one. Ending up on the wrong side of those fangs is a discomforting scenario.
@V1perz08 and also "At least to me and a few others" the best camouflage of most snakes. A Gabby in a pile of leaves is near invisible, maybe not to humans who are trained to spot them no but to people who aren't trained and some animals they are completely unseen. All you feel is a sharp pain then don't know what just hit you lol.
This is my dad's favorite snake.

Why would you want something like this as a pet? You can't pet it or anything and it can kill you...pointless to have.
