@amirtk251 You need to download nothing to your computer. Just install AirDroid on your Android device and open web browser on your computer to wirelessly manage it :)

@tongassforest AirDroid is different. You don't need to download anything to your computer. After you install AirDroid on your phone, just open your favorite web browser (Google Chrome, Firefox, IE, etc.) on your computer to start using it.

I love that you can do messaging from the web app. Is there any way to get a notification for phone calls too? Being a DJ I frequently don't hear my phone go off when I am mixing (due to headphones) and would love to be able to see not only the Text messages but phone calls too. Again thanks for a great app, and best of all making it free (at least initially)

really want to use this app, but I keep getting "Oops! Google Chrome could not connect to 192.168.1.146:8888" message. I even tried it on IE and no go. My Bionic is connected via WIFI as instructed, what am I missing? please advise.

@pvtrinh1 Since a ping doesn't work to the address (at least not for me) you may consider checking on your router to see if it looks like your android is successfully on your network. Should show up as something like android_fbeb3c5adb39... with an IP address and MAC address. If that doesn't work you might also want to check your firewalls/anti-virus as sometimes they block uncommon ports, or may have been set to block it for some reason in the past. Good Luck

This app is not working, both android phone and computer are on the same wifi network. I've type the url along with the port number and it still doesn't work. I've changed the wireless channel and still no go..any help would be greatly appreciated..

When I search the IP address in Chrome, IE, or FF It tells me there isn't a match. I have both devices connected to the same network/router. :/

@Vardenfelleckiam Did you forget to input the port number? You need to type the full web address displayed in AirDroid, like "192.168.1.2:8888".

It says in the market description that it doesn't work well with ICS. That's not true. It works perfectly fine on my Nexus S.

I just found this app yesterday and love it. I RARELY write android app reviews but I had to for this one. Anyway I just though of a great feature.

- Camera Folder Syncing ( It remembers what our camera folder is on our phone, looks for newly taken photos and copies them over to our camera folder on our PC. ) *Not sure this is possible through the browser though*

This would save some much time and hassle, not to mention there really isn't an app that does this. Please look into it.

Just downloaded and wondering, do I ever need to use my phone again! XD I was wondering as an idea, like you integrated the messaging system to send texts through your computer, can you team up with Whatsapp and do the same? THIS WILL MAKE AIRDROID THE BEST! Nevermind, seems to be issues with wireless channels, changing my router from automatic to channel 4 fixed it, not sure which channels are a problem, but this worked for me.

@AirDroidTeam If you added this sort of functionality, you would be the only ones doing it. You could even charge for that service as an add on. I know I would pay for that. Being able to run android apps on my computer has a whole host of incentives, one of which would be to run an app called iDisplay and use my laptop as a second monitor for any computer I'm at, without needing extra software ;)

hmm...I am wondering if the app sends any personal information to your servers, or if its only in the home network ... how come it's free?

And could it be malware? .. I tried it out and it works great, but you never know in the android market :S

Data security is among our top priorities and we never collect any identifiable personal data without user's explicit agreement. No personal information is sent to our servers. And it now works only in the home netwrok (LAN). And, best products, like Google Search, Android, Youtube, are usually free, right? We want to be one of the best products - just maybe not that big though :-)

@AirDroidTeam When you say "explicit agreement" does that exclude "accept and download" we have to agree to use it in the first place?

It's mentioned that the app basically has full access to my phones functions including changing network configuration. Why would the app need that if you need to be in the same network to use it anyway? Any connection would be lost if we'd change the network. Also does this mean it can activate mobile internet? I don't have a plan for that and it would be costly

@AirDroidTeam Apart from paranoid security issues I just wanted to say that your App is something I'd put in my OS for a phone on day one. We live in 2012 but still technology get's treated as if we were limited to hardware from the 60's.

Your group are opening the door to a greater future where usability and connectivity isn't limited by narrow thinking!
