Since you have 16 mains your mains will start and end on the same end. So it you start at the head you will end at the head. If you look at the top of the racket you will see one or more grommet holes that are larger than the normal ones. Choose the one that is closest to the short side outside main.
Without knowing which racket you have I can not provide anything more specific than that.

It does not matter if you start on the short side or the long side but you should string from the center outward never having more than 3 strings tension on one side than the other. You need to alternate from the left side to the right to equalize pressure on both sides of the frame.
