Nice Fishing Vid. I used to live in a neighborhood with a little creek that ran through it and I caught plenty of bluegills and suckers. I used crayfish, gum lol, and worms.
@jjhyphy you can only use artificials in the creek and barbless hooks so bass is the main target in the creek. I catch most of the them sightfishing. Most of the bluegills im catching right now are coming from hellyer lake and catfish and carp there aswell
@xoxoHoller Before you say something please read my previous comments. I did not bring the fish home to eat. Nor woul;d i ever do that. The only reason why i put them in the buck was to see how many i caught by the end of the day. Then i released them
1) How do you know he didn't? My motto when fishing is to pack out all of my own garbage and some of somebody else's, but I don't make videos of it and post them on Youtube.
2) Why don't you get out and do it? You seem to be identifying a problem and saying "Hey, somebody do something about this!" That doesn't give you much credibility if you're not doing something about it yourself.
Are fish from Coyote Creek safe to eat? Most of it is downstream from Anderson, and all the fish there are classed either yellow (one serving a week max) or red (do not eat) because of mercury. That's why I generally stay away from the Santa Clara County lakes; I like to eat my catch :(
Bluegill are usually one of the good ones to keep (maybe not from Coyote Creek, but...) since overpopulation tends to be a problem. There's a reason why panfish are no-limit in most places.
Recent work by biologists has also suggested that minimum size limits are the wrong model and to keep the small ones and release the big ones. Since hearing this, I've stopped throwing back any small bluegill. And guess what? I found out the smaller ones taste better, too :-)
Not necessarily. If you keep up with more recent thought in fisheries biology, the better practice is actually to keep the smaller fish and release the big ones so they can pass on their superior genes. Particularly with bluegill and other panfish, throwing back the small ones to "let them grow" tends to result in lots of small fish and very few, or no, big ones.
Culling out the little ones means more food for the rest, and better growth. Plus, the small ones usually taste better.
Yo drew. I know that exact spot with the sunken branch and trash. Lots of bluegill there. You think there are any bluegill there now? It's kinda cold for them. What do you use for bass there? I've only seen small ones.
theres tons of fish there goota wait till season opens up plus that when the fish bite. There bluegills, carp, suckers, bass, and catfish. I see big bass but for some reason the bass would never bite!
God, this creek brings back the memory of when I was fishing at my creek, and some dude threw a giant bag of trash out the window and it fell on my head lol
i catch bass carp bluegill suckers and catfish if you watch my kid day fishing video theres a pic 10 pound cat at the end of the vid that i pulled out of this creek
hey where is this creek located at?
