Hey, i'm wondering if i can choose any country as in most of Paradox games. If not any then can i choose Lithuania? Id like to try this out before CK2

@zukas5 you can only play christians, so no, you can't start as lithuania, but you can for example pick something from poland or russia, conquer them quite easly since they are pagan tribes and declare yourself king of lithuania.

@zukas5 if you conquer it as the king of poland, you will be both, the titles stack, you can be multiple kings, if you want to be only king of lithuania start as a duke or count near it, and try to conquer it, it will be harder than with poland, but shouls be fun.

to form the title of king of lithuania you will need at least 13 of the 19 provinces in the lithuanian region, if it's not already created.

If CK1 is slow, I fear CK2 will be even worse, since it will use a 3D map and include tons of new features. Let's hope Paradox will optimize it so that even medium PCs will be able to run it at reasonable speed (I mean, some great mods for EU3 are practically unplayable on my computer because they're sooooo slooooow).

Heh, in my 1066 Rostov game, I inherited the title of prince from one of Byzantium's princedoms, then the title of duke of the principality my father was ruler of, good fun.

@MrPainisCupcake I played with Rashka, first I rebelled against my father, prince of Docleia, and my Overlord. I took the title and made him my vassal. Then Ragusa became my vassal, I slowly united Serb lands, took much provinces from Byzantium, and them my ruler died and his son went to war against his grandfather taking from him his lands. Then I united all Serb lands and made Serbia, destroyed Pechenegs and then ruler died and his brother came to power, he had a prodigy son who had no heirs

@Sinelnyy It's more complicated than Knights of Honor but it is relatively an easy game. And in Crusader Kings, Pope is really a jerk, I had a catholic ruler and orthodox courtiers who were quite talented and loyal. He made me kill half of them and convert other half to catholicism. I hate playing as a catholic in both Knights of Honor and Crusader Kings...

@Sinelnyy You could try EU2, Victoria-an empire under the Sun with Revolutions expansion, or Hearts of Iron 2 with expansions Doomsday + Armageddon.

All are made by Paradox Interactive and are great games...

In Hearts of Iron 2 I played as USSR and conquered China, Europe except Britain, Middle East, India and Mongolia :D

And once I made USA a Fashist nation , it didn't take me long, only 2-3 years XD

@Sinelnyy EU2 is simple, it's just that inflation that is bothering me and the fact that after battle enemy can retreat INTO my territory which is quite annoying. Hearts of Iron 2 is quite simple, once you get the concept of the game.

This looks like CK: Deus Vult with the beta 2.1 patch. At least, thats what Ive got and it looks exactly the same.

PS. I hope there is a CK2 that's a bit deeper and more to do. This is a classic game of dynasties in the middle ages. If you've read the book "A Game of Thrones" this is basically it, but in our world.

This game is a lot of fun, and it takes some thinking too, because one wrong move and you can lose your kingdom/dukedom/county.

In my latest campaign I'm using diplomatic removal of vassals as well as military force to re-populate every country in the world with my bloodline.

Of course, with this method it's going to be hard to really see a "Game Over" because if I were to lose one nation, I'd just probably pop up under another one from family bloodlines.

My trouble is that I do just that: Something stupid.

For example, my guy's wife was slandering him and giving him all kinds of bad traits. So I had her offed. But there was no way I could do it without getting caught. His kingdom fell apart. Almost all of his vassals turned on him and he was getting conquered when I gave up. :(
