  • They Grow up to 14 feet in length 6 feet would be more like a captive Gator Gar

  • Great program and awesome show.

    5/5

That huge one from the old days was massive!!!

  • i wish indiana had a program like this on tv

  • I caught a 8 pound longnose gar on the ohio river cant wait for alligator gar up there =)

  • i've caught baby alligator gar off the banks of the illinois river

  • Hmm, You sure they wasnt "long nose gar" they look kind of the same but long nose gar are more skinnier and dont get as big

  • ahh ok man i didnt know yall had them lol

  • @jumar1281 respectfully, i don't think that they could have been alligator gar. they were likely spotted gar. but i bet they were fun to catch!

  • wow, come release some in illinois.

  • i'd say that would be a good idea if they can control the invasion of asian carp in the illinois river

  • We have a lot of invasive carp species here too. The thought of the alligator gar catching and eating large silver and bighead carp is a nice one to me. They will have tons and tons of fish to dine on when they reach those bigger sizes.

  • Over here in MO I catch those all the time in the river I never thought you guys didn't have any gar there.

  • We have plenty of Gar. Tons of long nose, short nose, and spotted gars exist here. The Alligator Gar is a species that has been absent from our water for sometime now.

  • would definitely like to catch one of those!!!

  • My youngest son caught a 50-pounder the other day (Louisiana). They make good eating, but some people turn their noses up at them. I'll eat their share!
