After it grows leaves and the starch runs out, it needs light to convert food sources into energy. Its not such a big mystery, we learned this in 1st grade science. these (sorry, i don't know the english name of it, but in danish it's "Grantræ") trees doesn't need a huge amount of sunlight. They're specially build to grow at the most northern places on the earth - like scandinavia, greenland, canada, russia.. so they're used to not getting that much sun.
my conclusion: yes! this could actually be true!

also, my statement before, it was just out of germination process which doesn't require any sun light, so yes possible. Not probable, but possible non-the-less.

it doesnt need sunlight to grow. All a seedling needs is water to sprout, food is taken from the starch in the seed. After it grows leaves and the starch runs out, it needs light to convert food sources into energy. Its not such a big mystery, we learned this in 1st grade science. He obviously inhaled the seed and maybe thought it was a bug or something.

yeah, the seed doesn't need light, but there shouldn't be enough water in someone's lung for a seed to sprout. If you had enough water in your lungs, you'd drown.

true, the seed doesnt need light to germinate, but it doesnt need water itself, notice the man was coughing up blood to that means he had bloos in his chest from the seed cutting him. a big part of the blood in your body is actually water. the water in his blood was enough to allow the seed to grow.

yeah, but blood has a high amount of solutes, so it would probably act more like salt water than regular water. Through osmosis, the blood would dehydrate the plant. It wouldn't grow.

actually for it to germinate it doesnt matter if it has salt or not, when it starts to grow thats when it matter, look at its size, 5 cm isnt that big, still big for a tree in a human lung. but, this tree might be more resistant to salt. also, he could have less salt in his blood from whatever his diet consists of.
