does he have any favorite songs OUTSIDE of this album. Which I think this album is ok, but venus doom was a hell of a lot better. This album seemed to steer away from their black sabbath roots
i must say i like a couple of songs but...to be truthful im kind of disapointed. HIM is my favourite band but i was hoping for a Dark Light/Razorblade/Venus sort of thing.
i think the album is awesome,,different but i love how they made changes but remained the same, im pretty sure the next album will be way different than this one and we'll all be in shock once again.

Well romantic...depends what you see as romantic. HIM has their own special style that they've named love metal. Meaning that their songs are about love which is a subject matter that few metal bands go for. But they're not the basic "I love you" type songs. HIM is more about the dark side of love and the pain and suffering that comes out of loneliness and bad relationships. But they're great. I would recommend something like Wings Of A Butterfly, Killing Loneliness or The Kiss Of Dawn. :)

Deep Shadows & Brilliant Highlights is their third album and it has some extrememly beautiful songs on there as well. Hello, I would suggest checking out their complete discography, going chronologically, seing their beginnings, the place they started at and moving with time. Have patience, each album is different from the next one, they are very versatile and creative. My favourite one is their first album, Greatest Lovesongs vol 666. It is a masterpiece, totally unique sound, raw, beautiful, tight. Be sure not to miss Overdrive unplugged performances here on YT from that album, it is a real gem!!!!

I'm a huge HIM fan but i have to say this is their worst album to date. It's pop rock! they now play in the same league with Tokyo Hotel and it's SAD.
Hey pattonPwr, I can't see the band doing Love Metal or Razorblade Romance over and over. They've changed, grown up a bit I'd say especially with Ville getting off the booze. Our fav bands are going to change and really "huge" HIM fans are going to go for the ride. The more I listen to Screamworks the more it grows on me. Can't wait to see them March 28th at the House of Blues in Boston! Sorry you don't like the new album : (

I just received the deluxe edition album with the lithography and I'm loving the acoustic versions much moire than the "real" album, it just sounds soo bubblegum pop!!! :( Btw, what's wrong with Ville? I just read an interview yesterday saying "he was never a huge fan of hard rock/metal music" What's going on here!!!??
Wow pattonPwr, that is really weird because he's always been a fan of Black Sabbath/Ozzy Osbourne as well as other hard rock bands. I think it's more the metal bands he doesn't like and I think people just mellow with age. One thing I do miss a lot on this album is his voice's low range but I can see why the title has "Screamworks". He screams in almost every song, LOL ... I love it!!
@pattonPwr fuk u, you dumb piece of shit, this album may not be as heavy as darklight or razorblade romance.. but times are chaning and the majority of people want to hear rock with some electronic feel to it.

Love HIM, not happy with the new album. I too was hoping for a Love Metal/Razorblade/666 album. This is a bit too commercial sounding. :(
Don't get me wrong, the album has its moments but, I am a little disappointed.
