Gerald Wilkins, Jordan-stopper my ass. He ended up gettin' humiliated just like Ruben Patterson did years later after dubbing himself the Kobe-stopper LMFAO!
@thetoyotaable jordan is better 3 point shooter and all around shooter than kobe have you saw the 3 point shootout with him and larry bird jordan just didn't want to define himself a 3 point shooter he wanted to be known as best all around look at how he perfected the fadeaway if he took normal shots he may have made more shots but he's taking tougher shots so they can't be blocked as easy

@MrHavok29 thank you :)! i should add that late 90s mike is a remarkable achievement for anyone....so kobe/fans should be pround (but not delusiional)
@mambaKB24mvp, you are completely out of line my friend, you are in the wrong video room if you are a Kobe fan. Your fearless leader just got swept by the Mavericks, so dont talk no shit. He couldnt even send Phil Jackson out on top, so keep you fucking mouth shut.
Jordan is simply the best to ever play. Wow, talk about memories... I can remember rooting against the Bulls with a passion because I was sick of them winning. All of this stuff from the 90s is so refreshing in terms of broadcasting. I don't know how much more of Mark Jackson and his girlfriend Van Gundy I can stand! UUGGHH!!!
Watch that huge layup at 3:13. Michaels head is literally above the rim...on a lay up! lol And in all seriousness, people talk alot about Kobe or whoever is better than MJ, but I think thats just kind of for the hell of it...I think everybody knows deep down theres no way anybody is better than Michael Jordan! Not even Lebron!
So my high school teammate kOrOne79 finally told me how he started dunking, he s not even as tall as me but leaps over 9 inches higher! So he followed the training plan over at 50inch vertical[dot]com and gained over 14 inches in his vertical jump!
Cleveland Cavaliers @ Chicago Bulls | 1993 Playoffs | ECSF Game 1: Jordan with 43 points
Gerald Wilkins called himself the Jordan Stopper and got destroyed. 10 years later Ruben Patterson called himself the Kobe Stopper and found himself destroyed as well. LMFAO!!. They were better off not labeling themselves like they did.
I remember this well, Wilkins supposedly was someone who might be tough for MJ, a supposed "Jordan Stopper". Even at 11 years old I knew how this would end. MJ torched Wilkins as usual.
I feel sorry for Wilkins. I remember watching this series back then. Wilkins seemed to have a lot of energy and he was bouncing around MJ like a madman. But MJ just calmly used simple fakes to get himself free as a bird. It's amazing Wilkins didn't injure himself physically during that series. Mentally the damage was obvious.
my goodness the move at 4:07 was so sweet. the jordan stopper are you serious? yeah right. the only time jordan was ever stopped was when he was at a red light while driving. lol.
yea for once mark jackson has been a loser in his whole nba career. been beaten by jordan so many times on different teams. he is for sure bitter about it.
mj is a lot quicker and decisive than kobe, which means no excessive dribble and more effective, that to me is the definition of being better offensively.
With ALL of that being said, how can people honestly think he's BETTER offensively? You'd think they'd utilize common sense to see that as far as the offensive categories go, in 12 years of play, he WOEFULLY comes up short..
soo true....another one is ask them if Kobe has won league MVP, allstar game MVP and finals MVP in the same yr....and even if he ever does...MJ did it twice in 3 yrs :-)
It's rather strange listening to Jackson repeatedly say that great offense beats great defense as well while MJ always defense wins championships. I guess by MJ's 6 rings compared the little mj's 0 rings, one might want to change that tune just a bit. And again after the Celtics this year. Defense has always prevailed looking at history - except when MJ beat NY of course with little mj on it. Perhaps he needs to amend himself and say, "only MJ's offense beats great defense." lol.
hoops, the only reason why lil' mj says that is because the real MJ has dunked on him numerous times. You should probably put a video of all the dunks that lil' mj received from his Airness. Also, do you remember the last reg. season home game in '98 against the Pacers where MJ threw the ball at lil' mj's head because he thought lil' mj was undercutting him?
@ForEmily23 . mj is a better points score then kobe. kobe a better range then mj. mj a better flg % shooter then kobe. kobe a better 3pt% shooter then mj. free throw tied. mj a better into the basket, dunks, the lay up, the move. offensive= mj better. Defent the steal and block shot, kobe is not even close. rebound kobe is not evn close. less turn over a game mj is better then kobe. assistant passing the ball mj is better then kobe. kobe is not even close to mj.
that's just crazy to be able to get that high on a layup, to get 30 inches off the ground on a jumpshot, what other player in the history of the nba could miss a dunk or a layup in a game and still be worth 1 point?
The move at 3:15 where he slips & STILL has the unreal speed & quickness to beats 2 defenders to the rim & explode over a 7 footer to finish, is unreal. And this is a 30 yr old, physically declining MJ. Hey YouTube youngn's.. y'all "still" wanna compare Kobe to him? Get real... Is it starting to sink in yet? You'll get it sooner than later..you can't be dumb forever..
At 3:15, his head is at the rim. MJ is 6'6, so that gives him a 42 inch vertical right there in the middle of a game after having slipped and fallen, and with fairly poor footing underneath him on that jump. That gives credence to the rumors of a 48+ inch vertical when fresh. Incredible.
Simply put. Jordan had respect for 'Nique and his brother. Imagine, you get beat to the rim again and again, layup after layup. The he goes and dunks it toward the end. "93 seemed to be the beginning of the total floor player with the ability to soar when he wanted to. "He'll be ready, so will I". Never another.
I pray that all would have the joy and freedom forgiveness and strength in knowing Christ.
What separates Jordan from today's athletes is also his ability to articulate; most of today's basketball players can hardly string a sentence together. Also pay attention to how classy he is, choosing to silence Wilkins with his play on the court while avoiding any verbal confrontation. We miss you Michael, and there will never be an athlete like you again.

I ALWAYS ask the simple questions to all of these people who try to "jordanize" kobe in order to sell him & the NBA:
A) Has he ever averaged more pts for a season? No..
B) Is kobe Top 5 or 10 ALL TIME in PPG? No..
C) Has he averaged more pts in the Playoffs than MJ? No..
D) Does he have ANY of the ALL TIME scoring avg's for a series in Playoff history? No..
E) Any Top 5 or 10 Seasons Rankings ALL TIME? No..
F) More Scoring Titles or any offensive accolades that R comparable? No!!
