Hard to believe I've been knitting for 40+ years and never learned this before! This is an excellent video! I'll be using this cast-on for most of my future knitting projects and sharing it with all my knitting friends. Thank you!
YAY! Thank you so much. So easy to understand and exactly what I needed to start the knitting of my daughters mittens for Winter. Thank you so much again xxx :)
Danke schoen :) I've been knitting mittens, and came across a pattern that called for this cast on. Pictures in books only confused me, but this...it became crystal clear!!!
It's probably been a decade since I've actually knitted anything myself, and admittedly i wasn't looking for this at the time, just generic youtube browsing...
However, for a rather complex stitch, this was a clear, concise description, with easy to follow visual cues as well.
I know a few people who can still find the time to knit, and shall be sure to nudge them towards this excellent how-to series, and I'm sure many will appreciate such high quality help ^^
Thank you so much for putting this up! The drawings I've seen of this cast on never seemed cleared to me. I'm casting on for a pair of socks right now!
WNanette - I'm knitting the Cowgirl Slipper Socks from Interweave Knits Winter 2006 edition. This is a great cast on where you want a bit of flexibility, like at the top of socks or mittens. There are loads of different cast ons, and a lot of it is down to personal preference. If you are in the US, maybe pick up a copy of Interweave Knits as it has a lot of info about cast ons etc. Good luck!
Thank you so much for this wonderfully informative video. I was struggling with this cast on until a friend pointed me in this direction. Now it all makes sense - thank you :)
Have been watching videos for this cast on all afternoon. Yours is the best. Now I finally GET it! Thanks so much. Great video.

Piglottie,
Just wondering... was it a pattern you're trying - that actually called for this?
I'm really new at knitting, so I didn't realize different patterns call for specific cast ons! ^_^
Thank you.

That's twisted! Ok, bad joke. Can you do a moebius cast on?
