  • guys is there anywhere I can get this song in Italian, I love this song

  • @LCRCBOY : Nino Rota, original. Pretty easy to find on the net.

  • @miraodb I cant find the version with words, I can only find the soundtrack version without words, any ideas??

  • @miraodb Do you know if the actor who played Anthony in the movie is the one that is actually singing this song or is someone else singing it? Also, if anyone knows where I can find the entire song sung by the same person who sings it in the Godfather 3 movie. Thanks for the information.

  • :)

  • i am half italian and half mexican, this is a beautiful song of italian folklore, italian and sicilian are so different we have a lot of dialects like napoletano, venezziano, calabrese, siciliano, genoves etc we have a very rich culture and i wish the mafia in mexico could be like the padrino respecting the children and women =(

brucia la terra per sempre, e brucia la luna come lu me cori =)

  • you guys are arguing over a song you dont even understand and that is older than anybody that know how to use the internet .....GOOD SONG LISTEN TO THE AMERICAN VERSION IF YOU DONT KNOW THE LYRICS

  • why would anyone dislike this? -.-

pure beauty... nothing else to say about it

    <=]

  • where can i find its english translation?

  • Восхитительная музыка

  • im sicilian i dont consider myself italian

  • the godfather is the entire reason i wanna learn sicilian and move to sicily

  • @JackWhite52

Do do what ahole? be a mafia? The FBI just busted a bunch of mobs in NY and you will next ahole. By the way, the damn sicilian mobs are nothing to us..we the MEXICAN mafia are taking over USA now... be smart ahole, and join our La famila...we welcome you into our merciful Mother Marry loving arms

  • @brucestud lol mexians will never do the damage the sicilians did in the past with john gotti and al capone and lucky luiano they even made movies about the italian mafia hollywood never did shit for mexian mafia becasue they will never owne respect like italians did italian mafia will never die .....they even had catchy nick names like johnny the bat , tony two time, nicky the kid what are the mexican nicknames?alejandro burritos?,jose the wetback, carlito the taco guy .... capo di tutti capi!

  • @qaz1wsx2edc345 haha ya and when they wanted to wipe out the mexicans they call in the Irish because them boys kill anything that gets in their path until they get the target.

Apparently the families in New York held a meeting with the Irish mob to bring them in as partners because they were so ruthless with dealing with their enemies or anyone that got in their way. Also the Sicilians felt the Irish shared a similar history and would let them into the mafia more so than mainland Italians.

  • @qaz1wsx2edc345 dick head

  • @qaz1wsx2edc345 thats because gringos are jelous :D try to tell that to a mexican in his face he will fuck you up :) mexicans are way more dangerous so stuf if not someday you will find some mexican narco and he will throw you in some asid bottle :P they call it posole they will made you posole and 1 more thing you call damage try to contro alcohol and gambles ??? hahaha come on :P whatch some news kid mexico and america is in war whit mexican narcos its a bad thing not to be proud of it

  • @qaz1wsx2edc345 John Gotti and Al Capone aren't even Sicilians. The Mexican Mafia could become as dangerous as the Sicilians, but they would have to get more organized and more intelligent; when MM members commit a crime, they don't cover their tracks as well as the Sicilians did. Also the Mexican Mafia called themselves mafia outta respect for the Sicilians.

  • @qaz1wsx2edc345 for you to disrespect something that you dont even know anything about, while Mexicans from Southern California give NOTHING but Respect to Italians Sicilians, Wow, because the last time i heard ANYTHING about the Italian mafia or sicilians was never, besides movies. other wise Zip, Nada, Nothing.

  • @brucestud at least the mafia has morals and have a better culture unlike u taco eating faggy slippery little mexicans -.-

  • @JackWhite52

What a dumb ass comment " the sicilian mafia has morals????????????" by killing innocent people, selling drugs, illegal prostitution, illegal gambling, illegal demanded protection from business owners, and scamming on innocent people. You call these morals??????? Your time is over buddy; the FBI is cleaning you up pretty clean now. this is the new era, the era of innovation and world economy- no more dark side secret of the damn sicilian mobs running USA

  • @brucestud they do have morals they dont approve of drugs but they say if u want to do it u do it but very few do and they dont kill women unlike u fake excuse for a mexica ok? so shut the fuck up and move back to tacobell u little mexican fag

  • @JackWhite52 This is really a dumb ass comment that I've ever heard of. Man, you must be the dumbest guy or gal whatever in the whole world. Stupid dude, go to the library or the internet and check out the secilian mobs and what they did-- there is HUGE differences between the actual world and what being depicted in movies..

Man, you sure a real dumb ass wana be mobs---no wonder your name is jackass.. a 1000 ways to die and u are in that show ahole..dumb dude

  • @brucestud wats rong too much tequila and falafels? i wrote that old comment TWO MONTHS ago and u decide to strt trolling on me now srsly get a fuking life u u no gd mexican slave and how consuella she tells me ur not gd in bed u need to be beaten for satisfying ur wife wats ur adress? OH ya ur mom already have it to me so we could hav sex later loser

  • @JackWhite52 You must be a little kid.....your language usage has indicated that you are at best 2nd grade. Can't even hold your own wini so how can you be a real tough mafia??? Man, what a real dumb ass wana be mafia...You think John Gotti would hire a dumb retarded kid like you to be his shouldier? Get lost you jack ass and go back to school to learn something; something valuable in life.... or go to Sicily to be a beggar...Get lost ahole

  • It's a great song, so intense...By the way, just to make it clear, sicilian it's a separate language and it's recognize by UNESCO as a a strong language without the risk of perish. The other languages of the italian peninsula that are recognized: sardinian, neapoletan, lombard, venetian. What the world knows as italian is the language speak in tuscany wich we have chosen as our common language. Great song and great movie...

  • its not italian... its sicilian -.-''

  • que romantico y suena fabuloso !!!!

  • Yes in dead a very god song, and also the movie, one of the best ever made (my opinion). It is a sicilian dialect but Italy is full of diferent dialect's. Wherever you go, you find a diferent one.

This song is pure beauty and emotion!!

a fire that is consuming as my heart does

to whom I can sing my song, if there's no one who shows herself from the balcony.....

I hope it could be good, I'm not sicilian but is not so much different from italian

  • @laxprep39

    Che sete di acqua lei

    e io sete di amore.

    A chi la canto

    la mia canzone

    se non c'è nessuno

    che si affaccia al balcone.

  • Exuse me:) "AddOLOrata" or "AddULUrata?

  • AddOLOrata - Italiano,

    AddULUrata - Sicilianu

    :)

  • Thanks, bro-)

  • Sicilian is not a dialect as most people think. It's a language, with its own vocabulary and grammer, etc. Actually, it is the language from which Italian emerged. I would say Italian is a very romantic language, but Sicilian truly reflects Sicily and its culture ... it's so passionate and dramatic, so very Mediterranean!

  • is there a way to learn that language?

  • Yes there is. Actually Sicilian authorities are trying to revive the study of the language, in contrast to its being regarded as a "lower class" dialect. If you search the internet, I'm sure you will find ways of how to learn the language ... books, courses, etc. Good luck!

  • This song not only touches my soul but it truly makes one think how passionate sicilan culture is.

  • My mother got her name "Cecilia" after the island/region Sicily (Sicilia). WOOOH! Now you know........

  • love this song it reminded me of sicily scopello in particular i love this country and yes i see it as a dif country to italy as the people seem to act like that. They reffer to them as mainlanders.

  • My Grandfather used to sing me this song.

  • i really acry alot this song is the perfect in the world

  • this is one of the most beutiful songs ever

  • The song is really beutiful but I want to make clear that this is not Italian but Sicilian dialect. There are a lot of differences between Italian language and Sicilian dialect - there are obvious to anyone who is familiar even a little with Italian and listens to the song carefully.

  • the word of the song are written in a modern Sicilian, very close to Italian and they are easily comprehensible.

The song is not ancient, it has been written by Nino Rota for the movie.

  • Sicily is an island off the mainland of Italy but is grouped together with the country itself. You are right that not too many people understand the difference in dialect. Something to bear in mind too, is that Sicilians are romantic and loyal lovers and people. You hear it in the songs

  • yes, you are right

    viva sicila carajo

  • Sicilian is a mix of acient roman and latin.

  • Quina cancó més bonica! No tinc paraules...

Visca la cançó siciliana! Nina rota...

  • EXELENTE !!!!

    NO, HAY MAS QUE DECIR!!

  • cheers, wonderful beautiful, I love it!

  • There are some mistakes on english version:

    My LAND is burning

    And my heart is burning

What IT (the land) thirsts for water!

    AND I thirst for love

  • Here is the italian translation Brucia la luna in cielo e io brucio d'amore Fuoco che si consuma come il mio cuore L'anima piange addolorata non si da pace ma che brutta nottata Il tempo passa ma non fa giorno Non c'è mai sole Se lei non torna
  • Brucia la terra mia

    e brucia il mio cuore

    Che sete d'acque essa

    ed io... sete d'amore!

    A chi la canto

    la mia canzone

    se non c'è nessuno

    che si affaccia

    al balcone.

  • That's not the correct version though - the correct one is in the Sicilian dialect ;)

  • The moon is burning in the sky And I am burning with love The fire that is consumed Like my heart My soul crys Painfully I'm not at peace What a terrible night The time passes But there is no dawn There is no sunshine If she doesn't return
  • The sicilian version is far superior but a direct translation to english would never work, so that is how speak softly came into being.

  • This is Sicilian languge. It is somewhat different than Italian. The lyrics to this song are not the same as Speak Softly Love, although the tune is very similar.

  • "It Burns The Earth"

  • "It Burns The Earth"

  • Search in google for nino rota - brucia la terra I think it will apear .... Thanks Micia :D

  • Thank you Nasser,i'll try :)

    bye!

  • This is among the best songs I have ever heard . And the song could not have been used more emotianally by FFC in the movie .

I am not able to get the song in it's entirety though . If there is anyone who knows how I can .... let me know .

  • Complete version of what ? The guitarplaying ?

  • Nasser ..... I'm trying to get the full song . There isn't anyone I know who has it . It seems ot have only featured in the GadFather III . The only thing I know is that it's by Nina Rota & he's the dude who composed almost all of the music for the Gadfather Series . But how ever much you look for it , you only get the Instrumental . The song version is what ben taken out of the movie .

I guess the quest continues .....

  • Aha tricky :-/ ...
