I found that by turning out the light I was able to simply walk past the 'Insane Cancer's in the subway and office building dance studio. In the chapel, I could melee them to death by turning out the light, walking up to them, hitting them with the mace, stun-gunning them when they got up, then hitting them with the mace--all, again, with the light out. It also means to me that giving birth is painful... much like grinding metal in a blender... as you said!! If it's painful enough to hear something like that, it may represent the "touch" equivalent of "hearing" it. Heather may also be afraid of giving birth to this God. To me, it symbolizes that the growth of God inside Heather has begun or that it symbolizes the birth of God in a rather.. disturbing way.
