  • It's not about just lifting heavy weight that matters because some big guys are about as durable as a peanut butter sandwich. I'm a power to weight ratio balanced athlete who can do over 100 press ups in one set, over 150 floor dips in one set, can bench 120 kg and I only weigh 78kg. Don't worry the video will be posted by sept 30th this year. No steroids, No dodgy food supplements, just pure organic food intake, 100% natural athlete. Watch this space

  • It mostly is all about Heavy Weight because more than half the guys that work out, work out for looks. They do not need endurance. Plus, you say you're an athlete, what sport or activity do you do? Just wanna know, and please don't say you work out as a sport.

  • @ReignzOfBrainz I understand what your saying about lifting heavy weights for looks, I lift heavy weights to gain power strengh but i combine those heavy exercises with long rep exercises to improve cardiovascular fitness. Also i don't sit around in between exercise, I keep my blood circulation going by running back and fourth or by going straight onto a set of push ups or sit ups. I don't understand people who sit around between exercises because it doesn't get rid of the lactic build up.

Used to be a part time fitness instructor but not anymore. Hoping to enter the dragan challenge though I don't think I am going to have prepared enough for the 2012 competition so maybe see about 2013 if it's still popular.

  • Bicep endurance? What bicep endurance? This is nothing mate! I will post a video in the next couple of months and I'll show you endurance when I stand up and do over 200 reps on each arm with a set of 12.5 kg hex dumbbells and 200 hammer curl reps with one-piece hex dumbbells is not straight forward at all. And my reps will be nice and steady as well unlike this john guy!

  • I'm only 150lbs and I can pull 120reps with 30lbs bells. A couple of years of that resulted in some bad tendonitis desipite massive strength gains. I've had to take all sorts of curls off the repetoire and use chin-ups to work arms now. Beware.

  • that appeared to be 30 or 35lb dumbells. doing 25 reps per arm is good on occasion, but thats far to many reps to get muscle size. higher reps can be good for size, but not that many reps. id never go over 15 reps. 8-15 reps is best for size gains, anything lower for most people will produce some gains in size, but its more for power and strength.

  • Endurance training is good. But doing more endurance training than brute, overall strength training will land you in a field of long-lasting, but mild strength, rather than shorter duration but much MUCH more intensive power behind the force faster. :)

  • @akuma4u yeah, i wasnt really bragging and i wasnt trying to get huge , just stronger and these were dumbell curls so its kinda hard not to use proper form and i had been doing this for a week with 20 pounds, next week 40 then the next week 60, increased by 20 pounds a week until i got to 80, i kept lifting 80 pounds for a month then just went up 10 pounds a month until i got 120 and i have no injuries
