@coreym76 When a bell is sounded at a crossing, it means CLEAR THE TRACKS. When the gates are down, there is obviously no need for a bell anymore, as the crossing is then closed, and a trains horn blowing is much louder than a bell, and set to ring while rising is unsafe. -When you hear that, it should mean the crossing has reactivated for some reason, as shown here. Never should a bell be used as an "All clear" as some have suggested. Totally diminishes the warning meaning of the bell.

Why is it unsafe to ring as the gates rise? Watching your videos I thought it was strange that they didn't.
