  • 240p we meet once again :(

  • I go to the school this is based on sunny hills

  • I'm Asian and I know it.

  • Did you guys now this is the prequel to Fast and the Furious? It has Han's life in high school...

  • @mybuttlookslikeurfac Lol no it's not, Sung kang and Justin lin have just worked together before

  • I like this movie soo much!! :)

  • thumbs up if you're Asian

  • Comment removed

  • Is song kang the same person as Fast to furious?

  • @CronicRage yes...its in wikipedia and conformed by justin lin the director of fast & furious

  • i want to see this so bad. havent found i link to online...

  • Is Justin Lin going to make more movies? This was awesome. Very powerful and I appreciated the cast. I remember looking forward to this so much when I was in high school.

  • Dude the high school filmed in the movie is the high school I attend today...

  • omg john(harold) and sung kang(han)

    together!

  • "fast and furious" hahaha Han plays the same character in all Justin Lin's movies.

  • justin lin is an amazing director , this movie is realistic of what happened... unlike that americanized bullshit 21

  • This is seriously one of the most powerful movies I have seen... I had to watch it for my Asian American Studies class, and I can't stop watching it

  • What I found interesting about this movie, is that a lot of asian gangs are like this. They don´t necessarily bang like the latino or black gangs and they dont really have tatoos. They´re smarter more like a mafia, they get good grades, they´re on honor role, yet they sell drugs, bootleg electronics, and probably make hits like any other gang. Some even use their nerdy asian steriotype so no one will suspect them these guys are organized crime gotta give em propz for being ahead of the game

  • where is the martial art

  • @hdzsound wow. just wow.

  • this movie is based on my school!(: omg.

  • This movie is based on a true story. The kids who murdered the other boy from a difrent highschool went to my school in the early 1990s

  • I remember seeing in theaters this when I was 16. My friend and I knew nothing about it but we picked it because it had nudity in it. It was a good choice.

  • This is hands down a masterpeice..Im Somali and i appreciate the fact that its a movie with a mostly asian cast becaause mostly you would see these kinds of movies with a bunch a mostly white cast you know?

and sung kang is one of my favorite actors =P

  • This movie was about my school... Weeeerid

  • I remember seeing previews for this on MTV all the time some years back and wanted to see it, now I can

  • I remember this movie. was very different then what I was expecting.

  • this movie has that guy from fast and furious and has the same name in this one Han Sue as he does in Fast and Furious i think he goes from this high school into becomming friends with Dom and bein a driver

  • Asian Pride.

  • they go to my high school :)

  • The ending is sour. I understand they wanted to present two options acceptance of a philosophical meaning to life or the rejection to that, but the ending still leaves you with a bad feeling. Hope that wasn't a spoiler.

  • It's a hell of a great movie. Right up there with IN COLD BLOOD and Larry Clarks ANOTHER DAY IN PARADISE. Wonderfully made!

  • all the negative reviews ppl are giving this movie is unnecessary what are you a film critic take your head out your ass to realize how great this movie is i love this movie it wasn't some huge Hollywood movie but it was GREAT none the less 10/10 FUCK THE HATERZZ

  • Seriously great movie

  • I saw a few clipz of thiz film in my class at SJSU. Films like thiz show a positive and negative. Positive in the fact their is equal representation in films. But negative in the fact that most of my friends hated the sterotypes of asians in films. Every ethnicity is sterotyped in films, look at who writes the scripts? Many people gain tolerance with the negative representation in films and say something racist and then people wonder why or where that person learned such an ignorate thing.

  • watch white on rice funny, and the debut

  • This movie was based on the murder at Sunny hills high school about 15 years back.

  • this movie was HORRIBLE. impossible scenarios and lame plot line.

  • @eciIa89 this movie is based on a true story.... so not all that impossible scenario

  • @Singerluver96 i doubt that

  • @eciIa89 I'm dead serious. Look up Sunny Hills highschool and you'll see.

  • @eciIa89 its based on the Stuart A. Tay murder that happened in Buena Park Ca in 1992 on new years eve. 4 of the guys went to Sunny Hills who murdered Tay and 1 of them went to BPHS, he was the guy who buried Tay in his backyard. This movie is far from the truth by the way.

  • the moral to this video is if asians try to be good asians, whites will laugh at them. when asians try to be bad asians, blacks and mexicans will laugh at them

  • This is one of the few movies with a predominantly Asian cast I've seen that I can relate to in terms of non-stereotypical

  • @XxVashTr1gunxX yes his character is from fast and the furious. look him up on wikipedia

  • fuck..... why do all asian americans have the same short haircuts?

  • @KoolJayJ why do blacks, or mexicans, or whites, have the same haircuts?

  • There's no such thing as an overachiever. I could have a farm and 120 livestock animals before your first job. And that guys still not your dad.

  • Fuckin' Harold man...

  • Best part of the movie was when the real Asian gangsters rolled up next to Ben and them and flashed the uzi and Ben, Virgil and them just looking straight scared shitless haha... That was classic and this movie is a classic movie and should be in any Asian Americans DVD collection...

  • They were mexican gangsters actually

  • @swbice umm actually they were Filipino... who are Asian...

  • Are you sure that's valid?

Did Justin Lin make a statement?

  • @swbice i checked the credits at the end of the movie and their names were either traditional filipino last names or spanish as the philippines was a spanish colony

  • they werent mexican lol

  • Just wish the ending would be better. BTW you can watch it as a freebie on

    ( MOVIES ACE . C0M )

And it's even available in HD :D

  • any one dat knos were i can watch this please i beg you tell me. thank you

  • This is one of the few movies with a predominantly Asian cast I've seen that I can relate to in terms of non-stereotypical bullshit.

There's only a handful of movies out there in American cinema that will ever be able to do this again. Imagine this movie with an all-white cast. It's seemless between cultural lines. Awesome movie.

  • I agree with you in terms of stereotypes but for it being seamless between cultures, not so much. What makes this movie is that it's an eye opener. It reveals a side of Asian-American culture most non-Asians aren't aware of. It's melodramatic; most movies are. Regardless it shows IMO an accurate portrayal of Asian-American culture and how it pushes on it's youth in the extreme to succeed and achieve. It shows the emotional tolls it can take and the deadly reactions to the stress it can cause.

  • Well see thats what I mean.

It's non-stereotypical because it shows the reality of pressure on all sides of social conformity, parental expectations(although they dont really show it in the movie), and peer expectations.

The stereotype is that Asians are smart and nothing else is going on under the surface. Which this movie reveals is not the case.

The reason why I say it's seamless, is because nearly every race has this minority of overachievers. It's just been attributed to Asians in the US

  • thats such a good film, when you learn english, it isn't such a boring film,it's really interesting and you learn english =)

  • im asian i speak english perfect like an american soo what??

i even consider my self american too

  • or incredibly nasty

  • gay

  • Comment removed

  • Justin Lin is a really loyal director i think. cause he made This,Tokyo Drift, and Finishing the Game. and all of these movies had at least two or three of these actors Sung Kang,Jason Tobin,Roger Fan and Parry Chen.

  • my niga Han in this shit he repose the role for Tokyo drift sucks that he dies god damn ill ass character

  • this shit happened in orange county huh, in fullerton

  • yeaup sunny hills high school

  • what i don't undrestand is when they killed the dude at the end.. thers no point.. and they were the one who killed him and buried him and find it at there backyard is kinda weird.

  • what do you u mean why stupid ?

  • talkin about Herralce saying they're not white but they speak english perfectly. that sounds kinda Racist. Wat a Dumb Fuck you think look below.

  • what i dont get it theyre not white yet they live in america and speak the language perfectly ? i tell ya i gotta start travelling outta missisippi soon !

  • Wow fuck you.

  • wat kinda question is dat ? stupid..

  • well blacks speak english too perfectly dumb fuck you racist fuck.. wnna feel the wrath of a asian Thug?

  • hey what do you mean man ?! im not racists i have nothing against black people i am really down with Afrikan Americans YO !

  • this movie is the worst trash i have ever seen i met the producer of this film such a wannabee i would not wipe my arse with this dvd

  • 1:18 "oh like a math club or something?"

  • CLIT CLIT Boom

  • god sung kang is sooo hot, he needs some lead roles man

  • the song is Blick blick boum of Saliva !

very nice movie, unfortunately it don't release in France !!!!!!!!!!!!

i will go immediately see it to the cinema !!!!!!

  • thats the point numb nuts, its about nerdy ass rich asians trying to be gangster and such...

  • haha ! alot of asians who are from the suburb are more down than most urban niggaz.. but than again.. thats dumb.. why the hell would a suburb downgrade.. which the movie didn't make sense.

  • Any of these guys would have made a better choice than Jim Sturgess for the lead in 21.

  • hey 21 was awsome

  • who was 21 based on in real life life like who was the real character of 21

  • Jeff Ma wrote "Bringing Down the House", the basis of 21. Most of the main players in the real-life story were Asian-American, but the producers wanted to change the character to a British actor. This is seen as a slight to a lot of Asian-American actors who were denied that opportunity and relegated Asian characters to secondary roles. Ppl make the argument there aren't 2 many famous Asian-American actors. One can argue it's because they're not given a fair chance like in this situation.

  • One of the best movies

  • oh yeah, btw Virgil is the best character ever created

  • BEST MOVIE EVER MADE.... and I'm not even Aisian!

  • does anyone know the song that comes out when ben and the girl shoot hoops together?

  • When ben and karen go to the winter formal they dance to this song. Does anybody know the name of that song?

  • the fontanelles -butterfly ,i fink, ive been tryin 2 find it lol, i fell in love wiv it as soon as i saw the movie , please tell me if u find it :)

  • Go to Google n word search, The fontanelles. Theres planty of webs but you best bet is, THE FONTANELLES-BUTTERFLY-FREEMP3 STREAM ON IMM or something like that. good luck!

  • damn i saw this movie yrs ago

    it seriousky breings back memories

  • I like asian girls. :)

  • such a classic, underated movie

  • saliva-click click boom, not p.o.d

  • Does anyone know if Stephanie was really in the porn video?

  • Nope, it was just a rumor and a look-alike of Stephanie.

  • I saw this movie and it kind of made me mad. I mean these guys had everything going for theirselves. Do you know how many kids grow up in poverty, foster homes, on the streets and wish to have just an ounce of the lifestyle they lead? They wanted to fuck around b/c they were bored w/ their everyday lives. I seriously dont understand people....

  • I dont know why your pissed, the same reason the overprivledged assholes like to act like juveniles is the same reason why underprivledged people like to live a life of excess when they get a taste of it, its a fear of routine, being stucks in the same position forever....think about it both ways

  • Im sorry but I know plenty of kids who grow up in poverty, no parents and in bad neighborhoods & they would kill to live the lives these guys had. its like they had everything they needed & wanted right in front of them. Do you think these kids who grow up in bad situations want to stay living like that? Im pretty sure these kids would love to be able to go to the top schools, make something out of theirselves, have a place to rest their head & have a future. & i thought about it both ways

  • yeah but some motherfuckers like to live in poverty i've seen people in poverty who are happier then people with all the money in the world. I dont know about you but some people are happy with obstacles in their life not with a silver spoon up their ass. These guys in the movie got an adreniline rush from this shit just like someone with no money would get a rush from driving a sports car they will never own.

  • by the way people its on VEOH TV

  • where? i couldn't find it? What do you search?

  • I can't find this movie anywhere online

  • you can get it at blockbuster and just burn it

  • i knew the kid thats house they used to kill the guy, his name was abraham he was kinda slow in the head he lived in buena park california, they killed the kid and left the body in his garge, this movie is nothin like what really went down in 1993..

  • Very good.

It's loosely based on the actual events. Which means that all the movie is, is something inspired from a murder, not a documentary.

  • i know but if they used the real events more in the movie it could have been a way better movie.. the real plot was more interesting and how the shit went down...

  • buddy i know i sound nosy but im very intrigued plz tell me more about what went down

  • John Cho & Sung Kang

    Epic

  • say epic again and I'll slap you.

  • Epic

  • Good job lol

  • I mean 0:52?

  • have u gt sky movies?, they are almost always showing the vid there on sky indie.

  • please tell me what that means

  • what what means?

  • This movie should have won an oscar !

  • this movie goes down so many roads and takes you through your full range of emotions. For lack of a better word, its sick.

  • can someone post it?

  • This movie owns. I suggest everyone watch it. It's one of my favorites.

  • Yes. indeed it does own. I love this film.

  • im mexican and i wanna know more about this mive, should i rent it?

  • why do you have to tell us your nationality?

  • hahahahahhahhahahahhhah

  • they have in block buster.. but they onjly have one it always get taken @_@

  • yes you should definitely rent it.

  • renting is for losers

  • yeah whatever man. I was just saying he should watch the movie.

  • no problem dude I was just joking:)

  • i go to sunny hills high school. its the most boring school i have ever seen(Sat's, high gpa, etc)competition is extremely high as its always been. cant believe sunny hills students would do sumthing like this. most of the kids here cant sleep without their teddy bears.

  • naw, troy high is harder and more fun. :) jk

  • i think this was based on a murder by Sunny Hills students

  • man asian parents drive their kids to become crazy and shit..they expect wayyyyyy too much. theres nothin wrong with your parents pushin you but dont push kids to the edge and they go nuts...my pops is filipino & hes pushy but hes not as crazy as korean parents..now they some nutcases LMFAO

  • Thanks for sharing.

  • Agreed. I'm Korean and my parents are always like "why don't you study for the SATs. how are you going to feel when all your friends go to good colleges and you go to a junior college" and I'm like "thanks for believing in me"

  • thats how i feel every day

  • asian parents do that so their sons and daughters can be the bosses of white people,

the cause of all this pusshiness is racism

  • MY FAVORITE MOVIE!

  • o yea and it was

    alcohol not gasoline

    that he choked on..

  • it was with a bat

    not a sledgehammer

    and the school was

    sunny hills

  • In the end, no1 really knows why they did this becuz ALL of them were on their way to High profiled schools like Harvard, Penn state, Yale and they just threw it all away. Now all of them are spending life in jail. And btw, They actually did bury his body in sum1s backyard like how the movie portrayed it. WHAT IDIOTS!

  • Han died in Tokyo. Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift Concluded his story.

  • lol

  • They pretended that they were gonna sell him a gun and that they were gonna use it for the heist, but instead of selling the gun, they beat Stuart down and poured gasoline in his mouth and wrapped duck tape over it. Stuart died by his own vomit.

  • stuart?? lol his name was steve

  • What happen is that Stuart gets the number of the honor roll nerd from his gf and sets up a scheme to rob his computer dealer. For watever reason (maybe it was the fact that he was dating his ex gf) the honor roll nerd hated him and planned his own scheme to murder Stuart.

  • This is based on the murder of Stuart Tay, the doode that is played by John Cho. Wat happen in real life is that Stuart wanted to robbed his computer dealer (some doode that sells computer parts to him) but he didn't have any friends to help. His gf tells him that she dated a guy who supposely was in the wa-ching gang which in reality who was some honor roll nerd trying to play gangsta who is played by perry chen.

  • I've always seen the film as being one that isn't about dispelling myths. I always saw it as one that shows the pitfalls of the model-minority stereotype and mentality. To me the movie is about how the stereotypical asian drive to succeed, regardless of morality, is only viewed as beneficial because nothing bad happens. Truth is, bad things can very well happen.

  • my brother bought the dvd and we loved it. I enjoy the movie. (I'm not Asian). Well I'm glad that the Asian community it's making their way to Hollywood too.

  • thats so cool!! that movie was filmed at my school!!! yeah!! cypress pride!!!!

  • FUCK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • How do you make a conclusion like that man?

If asian honor students weren't capable of cracking under pressure of high educational standards within our culture, suicide rate wouldn't be high.

It may not be as flashy as the movie, but I know for a fact I bought weed on more than one occasion from an asian classmate who looks like one of those born-to-be-a-doctor type. What kind of Ivy league school do you go to? LOL

  • Hahaha, great reference to Harold and Kumar Go To White Castle! :D

I completely side with you, Spriggan107. bakdgreat, I am guessing from your comment that you are not Asian-American, even if you DO live in SoCal. It's like this for us Asian-Americans everywhere, we're not just in California, you know. I, personally, am willing to go out and buy this movie myself just because of what it means to Asian-Americans.

  • Seems like you have to meet some more people cause people like this really do exist in socal. I know so many people who do fuckin well in school but toke all the time. Ever heard of Berkley?

  • Seems you know everything about Asians and Asian-Americans, especially interesting since you're not Asian or Asian-American. You're entitled to your opinion about the movie. Did you know that this movie was based on a real-life event involving Asian-Americans?

  • really? Well who knows I could be wrong. THe area im from has a very good school and my school is alomst 50 percent asian. Even the most hardcore ones (asian pride) dont act like this...especially not the kind that get into good schools. This combo reeks of a sort of pretension and insecurtiy intelligent asian kids have of dismembering an old stereotype. WHat ends up happening is that it comes of as a farce.

  • Being an outsider to something can never be the same as being part of it. So knowing many Asian-Americans can never replace the experience of being Asian-American. I've encountered plenty of people who aren't Asian, but they go around as if they know all about Asian culture and Asian people, and I just shake my head.

  • alright man ill give u that. At least in the are im from, i doubt it. By the way almost 3/4 of my friends are asians, and ive known them since middle school but I DO live in a bubble called IRVINE CA so yah point conceded.

  • I grew up in Irvine, lived there most of my life... so I'm well aware about Irvine, and it's definitely a bubble, one full of ignorance, of superficiality and much snobbery.

  • well obviously somebody acts like this because it's based on true events.

  • Btw this shit really did happen. Sunny Hills High School go look it up.

  • I know kids who are pretty much as rich too..the feeling I get is that im being swindled by this film. But if it is based on a true story, I could be wrong.

  • At that high school in Fullerton, a smart kid planned to murder another Asian-American he feared. Like in the movie, the plotter once had a crush on a cheerleader. He got four of his friends to help, they waited in a garage for him, he was beaten with a sledgehammer, rubbing alcohol then poured into his mouth, which they duct taped shut and he died, and they buried his body in the backyard.

  • bakdgreat u idiot, the movie pretty much is a true story. sorry to burst your little sheltered bubble but this really did happen IN southern california involving ivy league bound students who attended sunny hills high school, which most would consider a pretty good school. you hating on this movie without knowing any of the facts. i suggest you go to google and type in stuart tay. expand your knowledge and pop that little bubble of ignorance you hiding behind.
