@apbtdobe In fact many of these dogs could be imported from German show kennels, but it seems the Germans are making more progress getting rid of the "broken back" type dogs from the breeding stock.

Now the GSD'S is prone to the Hip Dysplasia because of the bad breeders causes the dog to be unhealthy. These dogs look nothing like the GSDs from v.Stephanitz own book (The German Shepherd Dog in Word and Picture) . These dogs are not what the breed founder wrote about, loved, and asked later generations to preserve. If all GSDs go down this road of poor breeding, we will loose one of the best all purpose dogs ever bred.

These are GSDs bread for show, they are not cripled, but they do have a VERY high chance of extreme hip displasia. The cause for this is because of their dangerously high inbreading. Originally, the GSD has a straight back and higher back legs. with a slight SLIGHT arch. What they are doing to these dogs is almost like a fashon statement but with their bodies. Its not good for the breed, and it does impare their movement.
when i take out my gsd people has the same comments why the gsd is limping or why his back is bend....they should read why the gsd is made like this ....his structure is like this because of the work this dog is suppose to do ...german are the best designers let it be any feild ...with a little knowledge people ask this type of question

Do what you can and try to breed the show dog out of the GSD, otherwise futer gen. may have HD.

@LionessCub1 Actually this is a Seiger Show, meaning all these dogs are required to prove themselves in tracking, obedience and protection before coming in the show ring. So although I agree that I don't like the roached backs AT ALL ... all theses dogs ARE PROVEN WORKING DOGS

@jmdnarri Yes it's true that these dogs can go through a schutzhund routine. But I don't think Schutzhund trials/ and titles are what makes a working dog a working dog. Especially with things like peoples ego and midnight trials. I honestly incorporate a bit more into what makes a good working dog. Either way All that I meant earlier is that these dogs aren't structured for the jobs that they are supposed to do. I never meant to imply that the dogs could do nothing but hobble.
@thetoxicsoul There is certainly politics involved and no doubt there is a lot of 'money talking' around these shows, but just because these dogs look almost cartoonishly incorrect and move as though the back and front ends don't know eachother, It doesn't make them incapeable of going through the motions of "working"
@katovomkozies These dogs are requred to qualify in SCH trials and have certified healthy hips before being entered, and display their working ability at every such show. Your standard for "proven" may be higher than that, but these dogs are not just prancing around the show ring.
