@Nativeskygirl I cringed as well, but perhaps we heard the question out of context? Maybe they were discussing the relative ease of the boarding process? I hope so.
i dont understand this. according to the rail europe site you can only get to Ashford International Station after leaving paris, not before. so how did u guys stop in Ashford BEFORE Paris?
For the record, there's no comparison between London and Washington, DC, even though they're both "capital cities." I'm sure there are "many better places" in Britain and France, but if a traveler chooses to go to London or Paris, it's because they are metropolitan cities of cultural and historical significance, the way Europeans might see NYC.
Hi. Thanks for sharing this video. Very helpful. I am planning to travel to London at the end of Nov. I will definately consider to add Eurostar to Paris.
So glad to see the Medway Viaduct on there... I used to live a 5 min drive from there, and would sometimes walk to school across it; but I live in Canada now having moved 5 years ago. Aproximately 15 seconds to cross it, that's fast - takes about 15 MINUTES to walk it! I think I'm getting homesick.
Wow the announcement sounds like one from VIA Rail Canada. It's done in English, then in French, and they mention things like "other passengers will be boarding so please occupy the seat on your ticket".
Everything depends on when you're booking your ticket. Avoid peek season and book in advance so you can get return ticket even for 60 pounds! Good thing is also "night clubber" ticket which costs 50 pounds return and is valid from Saturday 4PM till Sunday 10:30 AM (that's your deadline to get on your train).
i live next to DC and i have to use the metro system about every day to go into DC, and i also live in Florida (Tampa) with my mom. but i also would like to go to LA =]
do you hear that american woman. have you been to paris before. is it better than here? americans only ever go to the capital cities. ive been to the USA 5 times and have NEVER been to washington DC.
Britain and France have MANY better places that london and paris respectively
What the hell would you expect of most international travelers??? Everyone the world over visits the major places of popularity first quite naturally! And you're wrong, most European deliberately visit New York City, Florida, L.A. and Washington D.C. FIRST! Get your facts straight!
xman4un is right. There's reason for hitting up the cities. If you've never been to DC, I've got to say that you're missing out on soo much. I love it there so much, I just spent my spring break there, as well as some other "nearby" areas. It's filled with an incredible amount of history w/ tons of culture. People from all over the world visit and work there. I'd say 1/3 of the tourists were international. Considering it's the nation's capital, that's a lot.
@harrychown1989 That's maybe because Washington D.C. has nothing to do. I bet you've been to New York City many times, which is the equivalent to London and Paris.
@harrychown1989 Yes but London and Paris are big cities more than they are capitals. We have plenty of beaches and swamps and mountains and alps and whatever in the US. People go to Paris and London for the culture just like people go to NYC or San Francisco.
Nice vid! Last year I was on an interrail tour with my friends. We went to Paris and wanted to take the route to London, but we had to pay 70 Euros extra for the Eurostar, so we didn't! :-(
Great video! I travelled from the new St Pancras to Brussels last week and it seemed soooo mucb quicker than from Waterloo, about a minute after it left St Pancras it went into a tunnel and 5 minutes later its out in the country and at full speed, its amazing, the whole of east london gone in 5 mins.
this video brought back alot of memories..except my friend was dancing to beyonce and i was laughing like a fool while the ppl on the train were sleeping lol
Great video, thanks, I've been on that train so many times it's a much better experience than taking the plane. I don't mind about the toilets. I can't wait for St. Pancras to open it will cut the journey down to 2h15min.
nah! go ahead and show it! the whole point of watching stuff like this is to see what they look like! and yes, the bathroom is still part of the train, so we want to see it too!!

Quite interesting ride! I also love the sounds of the train accelerating!

I went from London St. Pancreas to Paris Nord station.
Paris Nord station looks horrible. They need to improve infrastucture over there.
London St. pancreas is new and looks a clean and healthy environment.
