  • LOL straight away into the electric. No break no nothing, next guitar next song. Legend.

  • Finns det bättre??

  • He def looks worse for the wear at this point....RIP Rory!

  • I was GLUED to ANYTHING Rory released back in the 70s. Special ordered "LIVE TASTE" when it was an import in the US (paid a whole $6.00! in 1976!) I kind of lost touch with his music in the 80s, then had a bandmate in the mid-90s who said his former band shared an equipment storage in NYC with Rory. He said, "It's such a shame he died..." I was TOTALLY CRUSHED! I felt like I'd abandoned him! Thanks for sharing this great vid! I've met and chatted with Bela a few times in N'ville.

  • Not many people can pull off wearing track pants, sneakers, some sort of woolen Peruvian quilt on their shoulders, play banjo AND sport a Mullet at the same time. That guy does.

  • This is simply awesome....Great musician..Alex from Brazil.

  • I also love it whenever Rory jammed with Bella or Feltham... he always looked at them with such happiness and anticpation...... He seemed to really enjoy feeding back and forth with them.

  • feckin awesome ...

  • I like the screw up when he laughs--funny!

  • @9903kateyes I sense that he may have been a bit high here mate.... This was very near the end, and Rory was quite ill. His liver was failing him. His arms are covered with sores...... So terribly sad, and like the amazing soul that Rory was, he played right to the end, collapsing onstage. But I agree, it sure is good to see him laugh. WHat I wouldn't have given to kick a few back with him..... God Bless You Rory

  • I love him so much !!!!♪♪♥♪♪

  • haha, yeah baby!

  • i looooooove rory

  • Rory looks ill, but he's still got it.

  • @MrBeethoven1966 Rory's long since passed away... and he's still got it. the music will never die.

  • This really inspires me. We are going to try this too. Love it.

  • what a way to go

  • Rory is the reason I came here, but man, look at Bela...such an understated and perfectly controlled banjo player.

  • Rory is God ,The best guitar player that has graced the stage

  • I love the worshipful look Bela Fleck gives to Rory throughout!!!!!

  • all guitarists, in the world..... walk away. dont forget to listen to it...before ya go.....

  • What a gent. It's a great find. Class.

  • Whoa! Good Stuff!!! Rory was a real class act....

  • Once again, bless you tomorrow, Rory

  • Thinking of Rory today - sure we will be following you in our hearts tomorrow also - very sadly missed!

  • Rory sadly missed, NEVER FORGOTTEN...

  • Tears when I watch this..such a beautiful and talented man. He contributed his uniqueblues rock style and always stayed true to himself over many many years he spent developing as an artist as we all enjoyed his unstoppable energy and showmanship. I was so sad to see him go.. just haven't decided till' now to express my opinion.

  • Heard a stroy that Rory thought he was gonna play with Bob Dylan and at the very moment out walks out Bela Fleck! Worked out in the end though:)

  • NO DISLIKES....oh yeah !

  • Sad to see RG all bloated from steroids (which were the result of a misdiagnosis) but god, what a magnificent set with three masters!

  • HankPoke. We owe you a huge debt of gratitude. Many many thanks for uploading this FANTASTIC clip. I have not enjoyed anything on YouTube more than this. I grew up in 70s and am kicking myself that I never saw Rory live! What an act.

  • Great Video... Thanks :)

  • Rory knew he didnt have many left, I wish I was there.I wish I knew.

  • This is great!! Man what a super playing all three of them!!

  • Absolutely masterful. The interplay between Rory and Bela is as good as it gets.

  • Fucking booze....what a waste of talent.

  • Olá... você realmente sabe curtir um som de primeira... parabéns... relacionei-o em meus favoritos.. é bom demais!!! Parabéns.

  • Beautiful. Love his little chuckle.. gets me every time. Can't stop smiling.

  • omg absolutly stunning stuff.

  • Great momments....Hats off to Rory

  • who played harmonica?

  • @khamdoun Mark Felttham

  • can someone tell me what they think when i say that the banjo in this medley adds a certain amount of "humour" to the music?

that's certainly how i relate to it (possibly also why i have a smile on my face listening to the tune!)

  • No...I shure doesn't get any better than this! Wow, man, thanks for sharing.

  • Is Rory using "open G" tuning here?

  • @gearoiddom

    I havn't checked but I'm nearly 100% certain it open G

  • Just wonderful. Can't watch it without breaking into a smile..

  • ...into "Walkin' Blues"(which Rory was doing since his early Taste days) and then, with confidence and enjoyment, they launhed into "Blue Moon of Centucky" which I had never heard Rory do in my life!

Taken from "WHEELS WITHIN WHEELS" as Donal Gallagher(Rory's brother) writes in the bootleg!

AMAZING PERFORMANCE FROM AN AMAZING MAN

  • And a little story about it: Bela and Rory hadn't met before this encounter. Bob Dylan was on the bill, he previously had considered caovering Rory's "Couldn't have Religion" from Live in Europe(1972).As a request, Dylan asked Rory to play it for him at that night and it had been hoped that Dylan might come on.Rory gestured to the side stage for a jam and actually it was Bela that walked on with a banjo! So, to find their pitch Rory started the intro with "Amazing Grace", it warms up and gets...

  • I OFTEN SHED A TEAR FOR THE PASSING OF THIS MASTER AN HIS HEART!

    HEALER MAN!!!
