  • There's always that idiot that screws up everyone's day!

  • whys it say 0MPH through the whole thing?

  • CARS AT THE CROSSING: OH BOY now I got to wait for the train, UHHHHG WAIT is he stopping here??? CRAP now I'm late for work agian, I wonder if I'm going to get that raise??

  • jeez talk about ouch

  • i bet the cars at the crossing were so pissed off

  • In the end, to top it off, Murphy made the train stop exactly on the intersection.

  • The MOW Foreman made a boo boo, the equipment needs to be cleared from the track before giving a clear signal to the dispatcher, that hurt him of his job.

  • @yynnmmbb Trains aren't required to slow up for blind corners unless they are operating at 'restricted speed; which this one wasn't. The train crew on this commuter train were operating under 'signal indication' (This line is equipped with a track signal system - CTC.), and were not at fault in this crossing accident. The blame lays with the MOW crews. (Track forces.)

  • Should have kept going

  • guy at crossing is like "are you fucking serious?"

  • Must suck for that truck driver at the end there. He is probably wondering why the hell the train is stopping at the intersection he wants to cross :)

  • The guy in the silver truck towards the end is already late for work.....then this! LOL

  • what a moron!

  • Comment removed

  • Dumb fuckers!

  • its Rule 89 for CSX lol

  • Takes almost 10 seconds for the rear end to go into emergency. at almost 1000 ft/sec for the air to travel at the emergency rate that's a 9000 ft train??!? That's can't be right.

  • @uprrslo No it's not! This was a 6-8 car commuter train. The engineer placed the train into emergency mode at 13 seconds, struck the speed-swing at 17 seconds & was fully stopped by 35 seconds. The emergency brake application was virtually instantaneous.

  • "NOT SURE WHAT TO DO WHEN I'M ON THE TRACKS AND HEAR A TRAIN WHISTLE???!"

  • @Sven2Perroy The engineer placed the train into emergency braking approx. 4 seconds BEFORE striking the speed-swing at the crossing. The train then took approx. 22 seconds to stop - which for a train is quick. Once in emergency braking you have NO control over where or when you stop. Unlike a car, you cannot modulate the braking. Where you stop - is where you stop!

  • I love the time code, apparently the train never hits the machinery because it is going 0MPH

  • PO stands for Pissed Off - Reading bloody paper somewhere no doubt!

  • Bulldozer Punch!

  • According to the indicator, the train is moving a 0 miles per hour. It is very impressive to cause an accident at that rate of speed! (/sarcasm)

  • SURPRISE! SURPRISE! SURPRISE!

  • engineer of freight train probably gotten fired, he ran a red flag. Train is completely in the wrong here

  • @hierlman First of all; this wasn't a freight train. This was a 'West Coast Express Train', (a commuter train), operating on CP track between Abbottsford, B.C. & Vancouver, B.C. Secondly; the train crew had received permission from the person in charge (the track foreman) to proceed by his Rule 42 red flag with no restrictions. The track forces were found to be at fault in this incident; not the train crew.

  • @hierlman I mean't to write Mission, B.C., NOT Abbottsford, B.C. They operate between Vancouver & Mission.

  • @hierlman 'Wavehopper100' is correct. This train crew had received permission from the track foreman to proceed by his Rule 42 red flag & through his working limits. There was NO Rule 42 violation. The failure occurred with the track forces who failed to be clear of the track with all of their equipment.

  • east coast :D

  • Note also that nobody is scrambling to get out of the way, even with the horns.

  • Yes, the MPH reads Zero. I smell phony.

  • @madisonelectronic that's because we believe in kilometers

  • hey, was the train derailed?

  • @SesamaLho The train was NOT derailed and continued on it's way in about an hour and a half.

  • haha, the guy in the truck at the end...

  • @mlectro

I was thinking the same thing... He's probably like "are you fucking kidding me?..."

  • anyone else notice the mph says zero?

  • @theiopl22 No flies on you!

  • Never mess with the Brown Streak

  • it just had to come to a stop on the next crossing so that everybody gets held up for hours.

  • you DID catch it

  • i bet the people waiting at the stopped you crossed at were pissed !

  • and the train keeps on going! amazing power in those things

  • Permission by your stop board, M-A-S!

  • I left this comment on August 19th 2011 at 8:50PM

  • Oh pancake...

  • super 9

  • Oops

  • I never knew 0mph was so fast?

  • Now the guy in the truck at the end has to wait longer

  • wow

  • @schlepperluv wait... It took you THIS LONG to reply? No matter...anyways... if you DID understand that trains need distance to stop (17years of experience sounds like you do. Curious, what do you do?), your comment should have been worded differently. Maybe the driver could have acted on seeing the red board sooner, yes, but it sounded like you expected the driver to stop within a few seconds. That's all.

  • @TheTehk17 I do not mess with the computer all the time. I work in the mow as a machine operator.

  • That car need to wait much longer to get over the railway :(

  • I hope the guy next to the digger didn´t hit by it.....

  • That was stupid.

  • i like how the little green letters in the center of the screen say what the train said "OMPH!!!!"

  • @timberwolf218 hahaha

  • RUN DONT SIGHT SEE

  • Very lucky it didn't derail. I've hit lighter cars and derailed once. Luckly I was going slow.

  • @steamman5320 i think it did derail... a little

  • Your trucks bounce off me like pingpong balls! Ya see that, that truck didn t even slow it down,,,its still going 0!! .........................Booyah Sonn!

  • What kind of engine was this?

  • @SixFeetUndr101 These 'West Coast Express' commuter trains run with a locomotive at just one end. On the 'outbound' trip to Mission they are on the headend. On the 'inbound' trip to Vancouver they are on the tailend and the engineer operates the train from the cab of the trailing (now leading) double-decker coach. It appears that this was the case in this video when they struck the speed-swing. I'm in the process of confirming all of this with a fellow in B.C. Hope that helps.

  • Why did the speed-swing cross the tracks? To get hit by the 'Express' train!

  • He put the train in emergency stop at 14 seconds and the train stopped at 35 seconds.

Kids? This was a fast stopping train.

  • @n5ifi well the force of hitting the construction vehicle also helped lol. But this is a commuter train, they are very light and can stop much quicker. They can stop within 200-300 feet after hitting the emergency stop.

  • @dagooda You cant just throw a train into emergency. You can derail it like that. There is a certain way we brake our trains. When in the cab, there are certain braking strategies we have to use. Jamming it into an emergency application can have a whiplash affect causing the cars to jam into one another and begin zig zagging off the rails. Also Idk where you got 200-300 feet from. The local Amtrak that runs here cant even stop from track speed that quick. maybe from 20-25mph but not track speed.

  • Comment removed

  • @LocomotiveEngineer2 Yes but the railroad prefers that you start off in an "Initial" braking period followed by a "Emergency". The reason the emergency application is safe is because all air is removed from the EA resevoir and BP Main resevoir immediately. There is no progression of air purging. It is automoatic which means that there is only one purge of air released which means that the cars only have one oppurtunity to catch up slack and bump which is safer.

  • @nsrailfann4life91 EQ resevoir** Sorry. Typo lol.

  • Comment removed

  • @LocomotiveEngineer2 We are told to move the reverser to N to ensure that all current and inertia moving the axles is immediately removed. Then put the trainline brake lever to initial, move the independent lever to full, then go straight from initial to emergency. Thats how I was taught.

  • Comment removed

  • @n5ifi These 'West Coast Express' trains are relatively short & light; typically 1 locomotive & 8 cars (give or take). However, to say they can stop from 'track speed' in a distance of 200-300 ft is a bit of an exaggeration. A car can stop in that distance - not a train. Even a locomotive operating 'light' requires more distance than 'dagooda' stated.

  • the workers definitely looked union. slow bastards.

  • haha those people got stuck at the crossing gate. :P

  • You could almost feel the jolt just watching the video! Wow!

  • Since nobody died, it's okay if I find it funny, right?

  • @sarkizmutafyan Funny in a 'hah, hah' way or funny in a 'huh' way?

  • @Wharfratt5 In a ahahaha LOL FAIL way..

  • @sarkizmutafyan I think so!, :D

  • I thought you go thru work limits at resticted speed 20 mph prepare for stop being on look out

  • @railman247 You go through Rule 42 work limits with the permission and governed by the instructions of the employee named on the train order - usually the track foreman in charge. If he says 'Track speed', you go track speed!

  • @railman247 There is no actual speed associated with Rule 42 work limits. You are governed solely by the instructions of the employee in charge of those limits - usually the track foreman. By the way, among other things, restricted speed is a speed NOT exceeding SLOW speed or 15 mph; not 20 mph, as you stated.

  • @Megadanny222 I'd like to see you stop a train that's going over 50 mph with each car weighing who knows how many tons and fifty cars behind the locamotive in under three seconds. Idiot.

  • "Uh, honey?"

    "Yes?"

"Gonna be a little late for dinner."

  • This video shows 17 seconds of the driver sounding the horn prior to impact.

I hope someone lost their job as someone could have lost their life.

  • Amazing crash at 0MPH

  • After math?

  • @BeatLevel32 After English.

  • @BeatLevel32 Before Spelling?

  • I like how he stops when a truck is a bout 2 cross

  • Is there any link to check the result ? :D

  • @Dude1yt wat, u blind?

  • WAS THE TRAIN OK?

  • LOL no it is not 0mph. I am guessing the impact was about 100-120mph

  • @MusicalDarkHorse 40 tops

  • @MusicalDarkHorse i think that is above most speed limits. but i could be wrong. had to have been at least 45-46

  • The world must be moving, as the moniter clearly states 0MPH

  • Keep pressing "4"

  • is it me or did the HUD always read 0 MPH?

  • ccccccccccccccccccccccoooooooooooooooooooooooooollllllllllllllllllllll!!!!!!!!!!.from supertrainkid

  • the sounds like a bullet shell drap on the floor

  • the sounds like a bullet shell dripping on the floor

  • what did he stop? I am not sure that he has insurance!

  • Why does it say 0 mph?

  • Engineer ignored the red flag at track side.

  • @greywolf45 The train crew had received clearance from the track foreman to proceed by the red flag and through his working limits. There was no red flag violation. The failure occurred with the track forces who failed to be clear of the track with all of their equipment.

  • Comment removed

  • Someone lost their job.

  • uhhh

  • lol at the "0 mph" reading all the way through.. i wonder who broke federal law and cut THAT wire!!

  • Dude! That train.. Just owned that thing!

  • If I was the guy in the truck where the train stopped I would be so pissed

  • press 4 to see the crash in quick view

  • I remember about this, supposedly they were allowed through the red zone and he pulled the horn constantly, I don't know how those workers didn't hear the train from miles away. Anyways there were no injuries and the train only hit the very back of the tractor.

  • OMG

  • @schlepperluv did you not see the train slowing down, dumbfuck? Trains can't stop instantly, you know. It can take miles of track for a long one.

  • @TheTehk17 Yes dumbfuck I know how long it takes for a train to stop. Yes stupid I seen them slowing down. Go play with a cell phone or your pecker something you know about touching. Leave the railroading for us men. You punks cant do it.

  • It was the trains fault. You clearly see the red board. Stop at the red board,

  • @schlepperluv the train had permission to run the red board.... idiot, spoken like a damn foamer wanna be rail

  • @shostetler Unlike you I have 17 years railroading. So idiot it did not show they had permission by the red board. If it did then why did they looked so suprised? You are one of the fags that run after the trains to get their piuture.

  • @schlepperluv

Well actually, to let you know, I have 16 years in with the railroad myself. And I worked in MOW before going to train service then engineer. So yeah, I do know what a fucking Form B is and probably 2 miles before hand when they went by the yellow/red board they got permission from the foreman to run the board... You stupid wanna be foamer.. Do you even listen to yourself? Or have you never gotten permission to go through a Form B? 17 years in and you don't know that?

  • XD it was near hammond

  • Never cross in front of a 0 MPH train. Never.

  • @MegaZsolti ya right lmao

  • Train vs bulldozer. Train always wins.

  • @Griskabora Unless the bulldozer has chuck noris inside.

  • That horn was blowing a good 2km away and still these geniuses still stood there?? Wow.

  • Why is the train doing 0MPH yet can still crash?

  • holy shit the guy at 00:17 must have gotten FUCKED UP by the tractor the train hit omfg

  • mexicans

  • @pinewood189 How about Canadians? you ignorant prick

  • @pinewood189 How about Canadians? your mom must be proud of you

  • @a6a50934 say Hi to mom, I wont be home tommrow.

  • That thing stopped quick!!

  • Damn train came out of nowhere!

  • in 18 seconds that train came to a complete stop? wtf insane breaks? or they just like hitting people and animals?

  • @JSycho1

    it's a lightweight commuter train.

  • @bananian Thankyou

  • @JSycho1 only an 6-8 car commuter rail train with blended disc/dynamic breaking, it has better breaks than a regular train yes, but since it's so light and small it stops in a hurry.

  • @Themuskspreader He didn't have a choice. When you put a train in emergency, you essentially have no control over what happens until after the stop.

  • @Themuskspreader He dumped the air, he's going nowhere until he recharges the trainline.

  • The people waiting at that crossing where the train stopped are like:

    FFFFUUUUUUUU!!!!!

  • @MBG141 ..and the noises of the train suddenly start to sound like 'trolololololo'

  • @MBG141 These trains arent very long so I don't get why theyd be saying FUUU!

  • @metroliner89 The train stopped and well...it waits and the people get mad... :(

  • Comment removed

  • @metroliner89 It depends how long detour you have to make, and how much time you have to reach the job :D

  • @Renesance86 Yeah lol FUUUUUU!

  • aw man, when it hit, the noise that it makes is the sound of that tractor's value dropping to zero instantly

  • I sure hope he had authority past that red flag near the beginning of the video...

  • @realvanman1 The bell and whistle is sounding, so I think he got permission.

  • i can't believe how stuppid are people to working at track wihout security

  • "Hey Joe, do yah think we should have moved the bulldozer?"

  • THE TRAIN WINS, AGAIN

  • oh look my hometown Maple Ridge. I remember when this happen it was in the news papper.

  • So....0 mph huh? Wow.

  • @LibertyTrombone12 Speedo might be broken or something.

  • ruined the truck drivers day lol now he has to wait forever because the train had to stop RIGHT there

  • @Vykrel do not worry there is another way in to that area there is 3 actually this is only one crossing he should know.
