It's so incredibly frustrating not being born at this time. Of course their music is timeless, it lives on today and forever - but I'd loved to have lived this, gone to see them live, bought their records when they first came out... It's a shame that we live in a world so shallow. There is some good music out nowadays, but you do have to sift through a lot of shite to get to it. None of the lyrics really resonate like these do. There will never be another Morrissey, Marr, Rourke or Joyce. Pity.
@KelloggsMaria I remember the dogs in the 80's ,left to roam the streets and wonder around the neighbourhood . Every dog had character and had similar traits to those of it kin folk. Those were the days indeed, the wonderful street smells of hi-energy jinx of you scampering around hedges and back gardens climbing apple trees and the odd sniff turbulent non- committal weekend sexual experiments where only memories of strange odours were everlasting.
the most underrated of all Smiths songs together with Unloveable :) I'd say Panic, Shoplifters, There Is a Light, Bigmouth, Boy with the Thorn, Unloveable and this are their best songs. Can't choose between them - so great I don't have to, I own them all :D - Half a Person is great also. well doh, it's all great :)
@krono965 Awesome feeling indeed. 26 gears and a pack of regal and more greasy spoons than a Spartan could repel! No man can beat his chest until he drives a HGV with all the more than 1500 of the most select Tunes from the entire eighties at my very fingers. Access and speed is true ownership in this decade.. not boxes full of vinyl in an Attic. Kneel before me!!!!
Two people haven't earned it yet.
