There are some web sites that help you get a FFL and Class 3. Biggest problem is if you live in an urban area getting the signature. Sometimes you have to get a lawyer. Democrat controlled areas don't want armed people, only crooks.

An AOW is only a 5 dollar tax. It's not that bad at all. And for the SBR, sure, I don't agree with the NFA, but 200$ still isn't that bad for that investment. You could also make it full auto if you have it as a resistered SBR as well I think.
@Iamcartmanxd transfering an aow is $5. Manufacturing an AOW is $200. You may NOT manufacture a full auto weapon unless you are an appropriately licensed dealer.
Ok, for suppresors & fully automatic weapons I understand. But when a .22 rifle with a vertical grip or stock? THAT is fucking retarded. ATF needs to loosen up jusst a bit.
If you buy one already setup as a registered NFA weapon from a class III dealer, then you will still need to have it transfered to you on a Form 4 from the dealer. This still requires the paperwork, background check AND the $200 tax stamp. If you buy it with a suppressor on it as well, then that will cost you ANOTHER $200 for a second stamp.. And YES, you will still have to wait for the ATF to finish the background ( about 3 months) before you can pick up the gun from the dealer.

Actually the ATF has tried the old "possession of a stock that goes on a pistol is a felony" con once before and the supreme court threw out the case. It's not a felony to posess a stock that "may" go on a pistol. But of course the ATF being the thugs they are might just arrest you "and let a court decide" because they have unlimited funds and you don't.

You pay for a class 2 weapon, class 3 lisenses are for only for if you are opening up a business and plan on selling machine guns, sbrs, suppressors, and aows. The guy is wrong on the vid.
So he made a technical mistake with his choice of words, big deal...The point he is trying to make is still a valid point. A LOT of people refer to NFA weapons as Class III weapons, so who really cares. Point is, he IS RIGHT when it comes to adding the k-grip or stock - you NEED the tax stamp to do it. @buzzclark If it has a 16" or longer barrel, then no. If you have a barrel shorter than 16" and it's not registered with the ATF as a SBR, then yes on both the barrel and stock.
move to MN an you can do whatever you want, i contacted my local police dept, an ATF they said only way id get in trouble is if i went an did something stupid, i got a front grip an a 3 pos stock, neither flnched when i said what i have.
OKfirearms, do you know if most of those tactical kits for the remington 700 are legal. The kit usually replaces all the wood components (stock, forearm) with machined aluminum more tactical looking parts and some even have a carbon fiber barrel cover and a muzzle break. It pretty much makes a hunting rifle look like the police sniper version of the remington 700. I purchased one for $1200 and if you can help, let me know. Thanks

Good video man. Most people don't realize the negative repercussions of adding little $50 grips and stocks to their .22's. Yeah it is a ridiculous law, and the BATF may be nazis about it, but is a cheap plastic grip really worth spending 12 years in a federal prison and paying a $250,000 fine?
Be thankful for the relaxed gun laws that you already have. Do things legally and don't give the anti-gun nuts more shit to bitch about.

There are some web sites that help you get a FFL and Class 3. Biggest problem is if you live in an urban area getting the signature. Sometimes you have to get a lawyer. Democrat controlled areas don't want armed people, only crooks.

An AOW is only a 5 dollar tax. It's not that bad at all. And for the SBR, sure, I don't agree with the NFA, but 200$ still isn't that bad for that investment. You could also make it full auto if you have it as a resistered SBR as well I think.

If you buy one already setup as a registered NFA weapon from a class III dealer, then you will still need to have it transfered to you on a Form 4 from the dealer. This still requires the paperwork, background check AND the $200 tax stamp. If you buy it with a suppressor on it as well, then that will cost you ANOTHER $200 for a second stamp.. And YES, you will still have to wait for the ATF to finish the background ( about 3 months) before you can pick up the gun from the dealer.

Actually the ATF has tried the old "possession of a stock that goes on a pistol is a felony" con once before and the supreme court threw out the case. It's not a felony to posess a stock that "may" go on a pistol. But of course the ATF being the thugs they are might just arrest you "and let a court decide" because they have unlimited funds and you don't.

So he made a technical mistake with his choice of words, big deal...The point he is trying to make is still a valid point. A LOT of people refer to NFA weapons as Class III weapons, so who really cares. Point is, he IS RIGHT when it comes to adding the k-grip or stock - you NEED the tax stamp to do it. Don't be so picky, at least he is trying to help people from getting in trouble, and for that I thank him.

@buzzclark If it has a 16" or longer barrel, then no. If you have a barrel shorter than 16" and it's not registered with the ATF as a SBR, then yes on both the barrel and stock.

OKfirearms, do you know if most of those tactical kits for the remington 700 are legal. The kit usually replaces all the wood components (stock, forearm) with machined aluminum more tactical looking parts and some even have a carbon fiber barrel cover and a muzzle break. It pretty much makes a hunting rifle look like the police sniper version of the remington 700. I purchased one for $1200 and if you can help, let me know. Thanks

Thank you for taking the time to explain the various federal gun laws. Those of you who modify firearms illegally, whether you know you are doing it or not, are fueling the anti-gun sentiment. Firearms are a great hobby to get into, but as I did myself, do some research and learn some safety before you start dropping home-made full auto sears in a gun. Like okfirearms said, just adding a stock to certain firearms can get you federal felony charges. Please be responsible gun owners...
