Hey man pretty old video but I guess you still around and might answer a question about this program. How do you get a pattern you made out in the sequenser you use, I use logic for instance but is there an easy way to get what you have done out in midi in the arrange window?
Ignore the haters how music should be done, they will always follow the ones that where famous behind them, the ones that succeed are those that experiment and make new things out of old shitty rules.
@secc991 Yeah hey again thanks alot it works exactly like that, very smooth way of doing loops and then just drag them out. I am in logic and that program kinda miss out on a good loopprogram thing like FL kinda have. But I guess this Guru is the answer to that it sure as hell look like it. But is it just me or do the drums really need some afterwork with alot of compression to sound beefy, I find them to sound rather low as they come?
@secc991 Yeah hey again and thanks alot it works exactly like that, very smooth way of doing loops and then just drag them out. I am in logic and that program kinda miss out on a good loopprogram thing like FL kinda have, sure there is Ultrabeat but is a little cluttered. But I guess this Guru is the answer to that it sure as hell look like it. What I do is when the drums are in Guru I send them to their own outs and mix them as you would do in a normal mix. Failing that try turning the gains up of the sample in Guru
that's a tip I already know, but thanks anyway. Just to let you know that i'm not programming live drums so in that respect I can program them how I like.
The rules are there are no rules. If it sounds good, put it in - if it doesn't - leave it out. So generally speaking, you should leave rules to conventionalists like yourself that will never pave a new way in music.
Oh really? Then stop fucking going around talking shit about what people should do. Trying to teach people rules is a classical conventionalist trait.
My main weakness is I waste my life talking shit with idiots like you.
You opened your yap first with your conventionalist bullshit and now you're trying to tell me to shut up after I told you to shut up.
How old I am, or anything of that sort has nothing to do with the fact you're trying to teach people how things are done - so you can just shut the fuck up.
This is the last time I'm posting too, my weakness is I do spend time trying to teach people who already know everything.
when you buy guru its in AU/VST and RTAS format meaning its compatible for pro tools already. I use it in both logic 8 and pro tools 8. Hope this helps
Considering how random this was, and only a test, this video has some cool on the fly patterns. I was looking to incorporate GURU into my MPC productions and this vid was inspiring, super quick programming. /thanks
Sweet. Cheers Jackmybody...... Yeah, this was 6 or 7 engines which were only playing 1 pattern per engine. If i can be arsed i may put up a demo with some scene triggering in it but I gotta get some more programming done on it and work out a way to show it... bt cheers for the comment... Peace out!!
If you can put up anymore demos, that would be cool. There aren't many videos of guru here, and this is the closest to MPC software we will see, and it does so much more. Crazy.
I dig it... it has some okay parts but at least you get to see what the FX section is capable of .. I mean some of the pitched sounds and noises seem a little out of tune and maybe to loud at certain points but overall the clean beats were on point... It just seemed a little to random to get into.... i think you could do a job at putting together just some straight with variation without so many FX....
Cheers. The loud bits are just a matter of mixing and correct level adjustment. I wasnt too bothered about doing that as I was just testing out something. But Guru is an awesome piece of software and I cant wait for the new upgrade... Whenever that may be.
Like I already said it was just a test, I have no plans to make any tutorials unless there's some kind of demand for it and even then it will be unlikely. But never say never eh... You best start demanding ;)
How do u like GURU? Check out the vid I did using GURU. Peace!!

@M3sslah
You see the pattern tabs under the pattern window... Drag and drop it into the arrange page of your DAW.
If that doesn't work there is a option in the options page to enable drag and dropping. tick it and repeat as above.

OK girls. Time to stop fighting.
Waata is right. There are no rules.
The word you should be looking at is EXPERIMENTAL.
its all in that word.
Was Frank Zappa wrong when he wanted to see what a bassoon sounded like when you play 32 32nd notes in the space of an 8th note?
Experimental..
Let it stay that way.
Oh. and if you want to fight on my page I will come round to your houses and slap you silly then fuck your sister.

but you missed the point...haha
if you want to be a good music producer you have to think realistically about each and every musical instrument you use in a project
sure, you can make the beat however you want it to sound, but remember that if you want it to go beyond your home studio you'll have to do it RIGHT
its sounds like crap if you don't do it right
get it now? Peace out playa!

Waata 2 years ago
uhm, its not talking shit, dude. its called "guidance"
thats why today's music sounds like shit...and almost every true music fan or producer on YouTube would agree, im sure
there is a reason for that. People try too hard and end up making it sound like abstract garbage
but then again , some ppl like garbage. haha!
calm the fuck down secc91
there's no fighting here...just sorting out a few kinks is all LOL

My guidance to you is stop giving your guidance.

you have no wisdom. that's your main weakness.
you must be 16 yrs old. learn a few things before you open your yap
