I have been to Ohrid every summer since i was born!Absolutely the most beutifull place to vacation in the Balkans!Why the hell would i go to Greece or Montenegro when this is 1000 times more beautifull and even closer!I have spent the best days of my life there.

Ohrid is absolutely amazing. No place in the Balkans can beat it, no doubt. It's just a shame the gov't there invests so much into Ohrid that just about the rest of the country looks terrible.

@varipoutserman well in Greece we have some of the best best beahces in the world voted by international tourism magazines readers and THE BEST ISLAND IN THE WORLD for 2011 also voted by international tourists...SANTORINI...u cant compete Greece of 16 million tourists per year with FYROM whose best spot is the sign that says ''TO HELLAS'' ..and Ohrid lake is a crappy dirty lake they share with albanians....the ugliest Greek village looks better than Ohrid

I spent 6 weeks here 40 years ago--you can feel the spirits there. While the churches reminded us of the relevance of the past, the hospitality shared with local people dancing and drinking their plum brandy is a treasure in my memories of Ohrid!
