  • Thanks for this posting. I found it very helpful.

  • Hey really great stuff.I also would like to be able to control Reason while using Main Stage. Can you send me a link so I can see how it's done? Would be great, thanks.

  • thanks for this man! great app

  • Hi Paul, I'm hoping you can help me. I'm totally new to Mainstage and midi stuff. Do you know if it's possible in Mainstage to be able to control the outputs of two layers separately? I want to layer, say, pads and piano, and want to assign two faders to each layer, is this possible? How do I go about doing that?? I'm using a Roland 300gx as my controller and it's a bit annoying coz I don't think some of the buttons are available to be assigned functions in Mainstage. Any suggestions?

  • ok my keyboard has no knobs or sliders is it practical to use or should i get a better controller?

  • Paul, I seem to have misplaced the mappings for using the faders to control instrument volume and effects. I am using MS 2 and and Axiom 61 with a MacBook.

    THX, Chris

  • i did that, but my problem is when select one path i dont have sound in the another patch, the midi work well is the audio outputs, i dont know. i'll still working, thx bro!

  • how can i can put 2 sounds at the same time in 2 diferent midi controlers?

  • Hey man so i think you mean, you want to use 2 MIDI keyboards and assign different sounds them all within the same patch. I have never done it but would imagine you map out 2 keyboards in the edit window so you literally see 2, you can shrink them for space, and assign them to the different MIDI inputs of your soundcard (or USB) then assign the different channels in the layout window (on the right) side of screen to the specific keyboards. I can do a vid if your really screwed! Good luck!

  • Hey man (CoreyAspire) I must admit I've never ran vocals through Mainstage so i didn't fully know your situation, so I checked it out :) Ok so you bring up a new template (Vocals and Keys), it says no audio will be produced alert. So basically head right over to where all the channel strips are on the right, keep going past E Piano, Voice, Reverb, Delay, Main Out then you'll see MASTER. This defaults to being turned down in this mode to stop feedback, whack that up and your good to go! :)

  • Hey dude. In Mainstage 2, how do you make it where you can hear both your keyboard and your mic through the PA? Whenever I choose the "Keyboard and Vocal" option, it tells me that no audio will be produced until I adjust the master volume. I have adjusted every volume knob I can think of.. Can you help me out? I'm new to mainstage.

  • Very cool. You are very good at explaining the setup. I've been using Reason for live gigs since about 2007, but would like to see about using Mainstage and Reason together. You started talking about Reason integration, but just teased us :-) Would love a video on how to utilize Reason in Mainstage.

  • @andrthad1 Hey man, sorry for delay....I'm not a huge user of reason but i have it installed so could maybe help me out. If you let me know what your trying to achieve, I can have a go at helping you with it. ie you trying to trigger loops with Dr Rex, do you want to utilise reasons synth sounds, maybe map a keyboard in Mainstage to control a 'refill' patch, maybe trigger the pads on a controller to drum sequences in Redrum? Not really too sure what else there'd be, let me know and i'll try help
