  • When I try to draw the box to put the url in, the arrow doesn't turn into the "+". What and How do I make the damn box?!

  • infinemesis...

I do not have "Shockwave Flash Object" OR "Movie" on my list. I have downloaded Shockwave but it [SFO] still does NOT show up on the list.

    Can you help me, please?

  • @JoaquinTall Try this: Open the More Controls box again and click on the "Register Custom" button. The browse to C:\Windows\system32\Macromed\Flash. In there should be a file called "Flash10I.ocx" or similar name. Click that file, click Open, then click OK. That should manually register your Flash object with Powerpoint. Then restart Powerpoint and see if "Shockwave Flash Object" now appears.

  • Do you need internet to play the video? please respond by tomorrow. My report is due on wednesday.

  • @TheeBreakingNews my bad for the real late replay. didn't see this until now. i know it's too late, but yeah, you need internet to play it.

  • @infinemesis Its fine. I still had back up internet just in case.

  • can u still put typing anywhere or does it have to be outside the movie box

  • @parad0x42100 It's been my experience that any typing needs to be done outside of the movie box. If you try to put text on top of the video, the text will actually end up behind the video. The normal way of bringing things to the front and sending things to the back doesn't seem to work. You can still put text on the same slide, just not on top of the video.

  • New youtube doesnt have watch? and = in the URL -______-

  • @YoungKeezi101 When you click the "Share" button, click on the "Options" link underneath the URL that it shows you. Then check the "Long link" box. Alternatively, you can just use the URL in the regular browser address bar. That one should already be in the correct format.

  • I followed this step by step and the video doesn't play. It says video not loaded. Why?

  • @LDejmek2 What video are you trying to embed? Sometimes, the user who uploaded the video can make it unembeddable. But i can try it on my end if you like. Youtube doesn't allow URLs in the comments, so if you want, you can send me a message with it.

  • May I know if this method is "retrocompatible" with powerpoint 2003 ? (I have '07, and my school STILL have '03)

  • @GTtuner56 I have a similar tutorial for Powerpoint 2003. It's in my channel, but also here's the end of the url since youtube doesn't allow URLs in the comments. watch?v=DoKR1Zts4H8

  • @infinemesis I didn't express myself correctly, sorry. What I meant is; If I do this method in Powerpoint '07, but I only save it as a .pps (compatibility mode), will the function be available when I'll run the powerpoint at my school ? I hope I'm clear enough :)

  • @GTtuner56 Ah, I gotcha now. I don't see why it shouldn't work. I don't have 2003 but I saved it from 2007 in compatibility mode and it didn't complain about "losing formatting or functions". It should work since both 2007 and 2003 should handle the shockwave object in the same way.

  • @infinemesis Okay. Thanks for your reply :) I'll try it eventually when the occasion will come by.

  • Very nice - I forgot how to do this...thanks for the QUICK refresher!

  • that was so cool, i never really knew how to do that even though i've wanted to so that was awesome. thanks for helping me out, that'll help in school projects a lot :D *gives you cookie for being amazing*

  • @astromoty cool! i'm glad it helped you out :-)
