Jeff, loved your video's. I'm new to this and now know how to hook up my Compressor but need help hooking up my reverb. Have a Lexicon MX300 that I want to hook up to my new Soundcraft GB2R-16, please help, Thanks David N
Very helpful video, I just ordered the same compressor/limiter. I want to use it on the kick, snare, bass and use the last channel to comp on a loud vocalist. I want to comp the kick, snare and also use the limiter, how does that work? If I set the limiter to unity or +1 it will limit any signals past that correct?
If i wanted to insert a compressor to the MAIN INSERT, would i need 2 insert cables for both L + R channels? Going into two seperate compressor channels? I would really appreciate your advice.
@deltafit - you have to use as many inserts and channels as you have coming out, if you are running mono then just the mono out, if you are stereo then you need both
if you want to compress more than one channel then use a group. and actually you don't aux's for dynamics, because your changing the sound you dont want to add to it, we use aux's to take a small amount of the signal not all of it!
you can also put the compressor through an aux input so you can insert the compressor on any channel that has the aux knob so you don't have to keep plugging in and unplugging the compressor.
Hello , Jeff your videos are great ! ,I have a question i hope you can answer.
I have a mackie sr 24 and i also have 2 tascam da-88s pluged into the the first 16 channels , the inserts are used as outputs to the recorders , can i plug my compressor into the aux inserts and how would i do that? Thanks Glenn
could you get 2 insert leads and plug one side into one channel of the mixer like you did there and the other side into another channel of the mixer so you can have 2 signals being compressed
just a guitar strieght to the mixer i got the behringer xenyn 2222fx mixer board just got it been doin alot fo recordin lol but i pluged my bos me-6 into the inserts and it works fine just don't use the gain on the mixer lol and my buddies effects peddel worked to but ty for the help i liek ur mixer by the way lol
so can i use my guitar distortion pedal the same way as u r with the compression hookup? like guitar plugged into the line then the pedal plugged into the insert?
ya know, i think that would work- but the signal would always be going through the pedal. why not go from the guitar to the distortion to the mixer? or are you using a guitar with no amplification?
you could also just use a stereo 1/4 to XLR as well. correct?
