  • I love this song for many years now. Whenever I listen to it, at 3:41 I just have to kick the volume up and hear the violins get increasingly louder before dissolving beautifully a few seconds later, as if in an avalanche of sounds. Art of sound.

  • Thank you for posting! Brings back lots of great memories!

  • Love Steve Harley's voice

  • best album ever! this song actually sent shivers down my spine.

would it be so cool if alan alllowed this album to be made into a movie?

  • I'm 23. This is pretty sweet. What the hell happened to stop people from making music like this? I feel like James Bond rocking this in my headphones on the way to work lol.

  • Oh my God how many times I sat in a dark bedroom playing this album with just my aquarium light, Sennheiser headphones and some good urb getting soooo mellow-lol This was one of the great albums of its type from the era, I still have five A.P. albums, including this one. Another great one for headphones is Jean Michael Jarre's "Oxygene", that album is a real trip in spots-!! Hard to believe this is 35 years old-!! Im not dead YET??!! LOL

  • awesome classic song

  • I ROBOT ALMOST 35 YRS LATER IS STILL EVEN SOBER AND CLEAN A AWSOME EARGASM WITH HEADPHONES. LIKE FLOYD I THINK THE ALBUM WOULD MAKE A FUCKIN KICK ASS LASER LIGHT SHOW. RIP E.W.

  • @luvtotruck That is a sinister plan! I would go in a heartbeat.

  • @luvtotruck there was AP 'Projections' during the eighties in Vancouver BC and a Dark side of the Moon show too. Saw them both many times, the music still reminds me of the laser effects.lol.

  • que buen temaaaa, good one! I have all app "vinilos/lp", miss those old good times, I am happy to have enjoyed one of the finest purest musical bands ever, and still do it...

  • @fabriciobisso Try and get the younguns into it, some hope, no taste these days. Crap music everywhere!!

  • Respond to this video...Personally, i prefer 200 watts of souround sound, CRANK IT!!!!

  • my dad used to play this song on road trips. i'd pretend like i was running from a scary robot.

  • @porcupotomus Hahahhhahaa I like it.

  • I remember the night I bought this album from the local album/ head shop...I lit one up, laid my head down in between my speakers and drifted off into another world... Long time ago..!!

  • I love when the bass kicks in at 2:30.

  • @JewBoy518 I always felt a kind of guilt for taping this from one of my dads old albums.. used to drive around in the car with this on full blast, and that bass... well, we know why we came here!

  • if i could tell you how i felt the first time i herd this song my skin would melt of joy and lust and painlessnes it is amazing looooove the project!!!!!!!!!

  • Best song of the album.

  • Rock and Roll as we know it has left the United States..Thank God we have groups like this and many others we can still listen to.

  • this song is fucking fantastic! the only good thing about all this shit music today is that it puts in perspective just how great music used to be!

  • AWESOME work, man. Thanks for posting these! It's good to see that some people still have an appreciation of genius and just plain ol' cool tunes!

  • app are so unique,,and this is my favorite album from their long string of albuns

  • Dudes, Chill... It's got a get-high beat with partial "superfly" grooves. Dig the words: scared of the darkness that's there in your mind, frightened to move because of what you might find..... We all been there. That's what make it classic. Tell me B*** hits never made YOU paranoid.

  • Dudes, Chill... It's got a get-high beat with partial "superfly" grooves. Dig the words: scared of the darkness that's there in your mind, frightened to move because of what you might find..... We all been there. That's what make it classic.

  • This album is hands down my favorite album of all time. I am somewhat of an audiophile and appreciate the effort into the quality of production on this whole album.

  • I remember listening to this song years ago, this whole album was great, specially the I robot song, them were the good ol' days!

  • One of those tracks you listened to as a kid and pretended to like because everyone else did. Listened to it again and sorry, but its CRAP.

  • @starquant There's no accounting for taste

  • @starquant maybe you don't like it but got to respect the musical quality and effort put on this record.

  • @Akron162 ironically I did love it. I thought it was musical genius at the time. I guess when I studied music and all the genre associated with it, it became more critical. My opinion is solely based on this track and not on other tracks released.

  • @starquant come on men, i know something of music too, and i can say that this is a very nice work. Of course is nothing compared whit great and intrincated masterpieces like those created by bands like yes, ELP, Camel or some others, but the beat is at least catchie. A lightened prog rock.

  • @Akron162 we are going to have to agree to disagree on this point. Im sorry if my comments caused offence :).

  • @starquant of course not, is your opinion an you got the right to defend it.

  • @Akron162 fyi my fav tracks are "Silence and I" and Games people play" from Alan Parsons. My other Favs are "Children" by Robert Miles and also the track sung by Josephine Baker in her 80th year "the times they are a changin". If you have the time , listen to them esp Josephine. I hope you like them :).

  • I remember my buddy and I were out driving around and this song came on. We got so paranoid that we both went home... and it was like only 9:30!

  • The beginning of my ten year total fog. I had this cassette.

  • After all these years I still get a chill down my spine :)

  • Funny thing is... My 12 year old daughter loves it... Prove that this is timeless music

  • @MaggieFloats ...and your daughter has great taste in music :)

  • This was music one used to really sit back and listen to... It sure does take you elsewhere in space and time

  • steve harley!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @vitorro1970

Cierto. Quizás Coldplay sea el único grupo que pueda compararse a APP en estos días de sequía musical.

  • @sincrobuster La buena musica no tiene caducidad-Mola saber que hay mas gente con los mismos gustos musicales.Un saludo amigo.

  • Its 1978/79 summer Fallbrook CA I was 7 years old I was cruising the back roads of Fallbrook off I-15 with my uncle Makey & I clearly remember this song! I dont know for sure but my uncle was probaly on LSD or Shrooms!!!!!!!but I had a blast that summer!!!!!!!!!

  • @remfanbeforu Wast that 4 in the front and 4 in the back?

LOL, now that was a big car. People in college used to errantly call my '70 Impala a big car. It was just full-sized. It seated 5 or 6.

  • Awesome.

  • Then man created Robot in his own image!

  • excellent orchestration, progressive rock is the best

  • Colejordan 123 is very right. The I Robot album from The APP is incredible! A masterpiece that will last forever.

    Ciao

    Fernando

  • Great song! I've almost worn out my CD!

  • i listen to alan parson songs every day and just can't get tired of them. 30 years old music !!! such a beautiful songs, new music in majority are garbage and won't last long.

  • all of you who have kids. sit down and show them an actual lp it really is different than a cd. close your eyes like we used to. feel rather than see.

  • i know that voice

  • steve harley from cockney rebel.

  • thx

  • Why can't they make music with substance (like this!) anymore? Or am I just a middle-age guy too sour on new music?

  • I'm only 29 and I feel the same way.

  • I'm only 16 and I feel the same way.

  • First excuse me if my english is incorrect (I'm french)

This is my feeling too (I'm 33) and it's something which worry a lot. Why can't we make so poetic or lyric music today? I feel that the fall of quality began about the middle of 80's.

The reason is mysterious for me but it's a bit worrying and sad.

Yet, even if we can still have good music today, it's not so powerful.

  • Music today is all about making big money fast, and has nothing to do with self-expression anymore. Sad.

  • @Simon5005 - I agree. The technology used today in studio can make anyone sound good. But live is another story.

  • @Simon5005 speak for your self

  • @reven839 I believe I was. And YOURSELF is one word.

  • @Simon5005 and a year later, the problem hasnt gotn much better eh! amen man!

  • @Simon5005 Don't be so pessimistic! Good music is still around, you just need to look! I mean, listen.

  • @Simon5005 we're definately in the wrong paradygm

  • Lost in the APP Space!

    Fraking good band!

  • A 69' plymouth fury with a big trunk for bass reflex. A pair of 6x9's coaxials. It's 1977 and this 8 track just found it's way into your car. A very small tab under the tongue. Balboa Park bridge going by the windows. Feels like the "voice" is sitting in the back seat. Now that's real. Great album!

  • dude, how about '69 nova with air shocks and wide torgue twister 60's sticking out the back. rolling with 6x9's pounding the back window, pumped up by some massive amp hanging under the dash. Your post brought it all back. thanks

  • Uralt, aber total geil! Ich liebe APP!

  • iS ALMOST A FEELING YOU CAN CATCH IN THE AIR, YOU LOOK ALL AROUND YOU BUT NOBOBY IS THERE! HE IS GONNA GET YOU!

Before hyou run and hide , is gonna get you

BECAUSE YOU CAN'T ESCAPE THE VOICE!

It's going to get you JAJAJAJAJAJAAJA

  • steve harley...great performer and great singer...

  • reinhardt!!!!!!!

  • I remember this song at a good time in my life way back in the day... WOW.....

  • This music outlasted many a friend, dont erase your life with drugs and alchohol. Moderation is key. In memory of Dan my friend.

  • They sure don't make them like this anymore. Today's music is just like cars, all plain and ordinary. APP was way ahead of its time. Thanks for sharing.

  • High werden durch Musik! Voll krass...

  • I used to get so stoned listening to Alan Parsons. The Voice was, what we considered, head music. It was great.

  • This song and the rest of I Robot is just so incredible and so trippy for its day.

  • Alan Parsons lived the life we all wish we could've lived-except he was rich and talented and famous!

  • HE'S GOING TO GET YOU! beautiful instrumental work, alan parson music never gets old!

  • His style is unique. It's not boring.

  • This song is sooo appropriate for these days of no privacy.

  • Ohhh...excuseme...is 1976...haaa..!!! Salute all yours

    Rockers

  • Wow!! Incredible music sound travel..!!! I enjoy since 1975...Great Times my friends..

  • Man I wish I still had this. I miss this. Wow great stuff

  • Oh, the graphics and e-z widers memories from high school, trippin to the 8-track with headphones. Who says it kills memory. Rock on folks!!

  • "...before you run and hide!,"

    o o nobama

  • The strings arrangement during the middle/instrumental section is incredible. REAL music happening here folks.

  • he is gonne get you you got no choice because you cant escape the voice

  • Por Engano Disse 1077. Quando Queria Dizer 1977.

  • Esta Foi A 1ª Canção Que Ouvi de ALAN PARSONS em 1077.I LOVE ALAN PARSONS (Music)

  • This would be the kind of thing my parents had on at a party. I can just imagine someone in flares passing a joint to some other guy and commenting on his quadrophonic system while eyeing a good looking girl in a bean bag or leaning on some huge paisley wallpaper.

  • lol!

  • II so hate you now...you just really 'dated' me...lolol!

  • No, hon, I swear, I was not eyeing her! Maybe we should put on some Jean Luc Ponty or something.

  • wow jean luc! someone still listens besides me. seen him once with jeff beck and jan hammer

  • Great album!

  • I was so young when that came out...fourteen or so. God...

I bought it on 8-track cart, then a very rare 4-track quadraphonic cart was released that I played on a Hitachi quad system (still have it)...I only had two of those, the other was a Pink Floyd cart.

I feel so old... good memories and good times those were.

    ADT

  • This song used to cause the worst paranoia after a night of partying.

  • The whole of Black Sabbath "Paranoid" album did that to me.

This brings back some good memories. My first ever date in high school was with a senior (I was a sophomore) and our local planetarium put on a "Cosmic Concert" using this album. Good times, good times.

  • very nice. Always new discovery

  • esta musica es la respuestaa!! cada sonido te grita la respuesta

liberen sus mentes!! sean libres y sientan!!

  • The best Alan Parson Projekt Piece!

The instrumental part reminds me at Temtation's 'Papa was a Rolling Stone'

  • One of my favorites too. The hipgnosis cover art reminds me of Black Sabbath's Technical Ecstacy.

  • me encanta..........

  • I bought this album for my nephew who introduced me to Alan Parsons Project's music (I'm so grateful he did). I taped it and listened to it many many times as I did with many of their other songs, too. What a great group! Thanks for posting!

  • Once you hear an album, you are hooked for life. Try the other 13 original cds. Each one is a concept album and each song fits from beginning to end.

  • The tune creates a melancholy feeling for me.

When the synth comes in at the beginning, especially. I can't really put it into words.

The tune puts me in mind--somewhat--of Emerson, Lake and Palmer's Karn Evil 9 3rd Impression, with the computer talking in different parts, and the meaning behind the songs. Creeps me out.

  • How long have we been Watched?

  • One of the best Songs on the Album

I realy like Alan Parsons Project (as you can see on my Name :-D)

  • Great song, still feel that I Robot was the best work of Alan Parsons after which they degenerated into a sugar coated pop act and never reached those dizzy heights of Tales of Mystery and Imagination and I Robot!!
