Why do so many people want us to sign Mertesacker? Yeah he's 6'6" and experienced but he is slow as fuck. He'd be useless in Arsenal especially as we play a high line. Samba would be good though.

Not to mention he pocketed Messi and Villa with ease in the first leg against barca last year. We just need someone tall who can act as a sub most times and then come on against teams like Stoke and Bolton.

@Theedon46 I think that stating he shows poor leadership skills is a true mistake, just because he doesn't lose his temper on the sideline when things don't go his way doesn't mean he isn't a passionate example to others it shows he's in control of his temper, unlike many other whiny childish managers, and on the defender front i agree we do need a centre back, but just 1 simple commanding one, szczesny is looking really promising and the rest are team is truly top class!, so look forward! :)

needs to improve the timing of his passing, and chemistry with teammates, otherwise he is a brilliant signing. quick, agile, good touch and technique. has every potential to become an arsenal great. :)
