  • sounds like blues 1:00 and forwards to 1:19 xD

  • learn how to write tabs please -.- otherwise , pretty sick .

  • sorry for the criticism, but i smell so many ripped off riffs.

  • I'm not one to criticize. BUT THAT SOUNDED LIKE SHIT.

  • Trivium?

  • I think its a nice riff. Its not much of metal but i enjoyed it

  • sounds kinda booring ;\

  • Fuckin' drop D bullshit, my fucking 6 year old niece can do that.

  • For beginners like me, its not bad.

  • screw everyone else man, for us beginners........i liked it

  • Nice riff, man.

Is this a Gibson Les Paul?

  • so close to being pantera's (mouth for war)

  • hahahah should this be master of puppets or something xD?

  • why does it sound like hand of blood by bullet for my valintine only in drop d tuning and bar chords

  • pretty genaric

  • LOL JUST PLAYED SAME THING TODAY as you in the intro lolololol

  • These dumbasses didnt see the title its for beginners. Nice lesson man, i have a line 6 also, cant afford much but can shred it. Doesnt matter about eqipment just play then when u get good stuff,it will sound that much better.

  • you dont have a great ear so you better stick to scales.. just a advice ;)

  • hwo do you do that plus sign 3

  • 5fdp???

  • I have the same guitar as you!

  • Your tone is shit.

  • sounds very close to distubed :) well the first part...but sounds great either way :D

  • you've took the idea from Bullet for my valentine Hand of Blood, didn't you?

  • I feel like punching this man in the face for making a mockery of metal.

  • @Ultraussie

ya dude, death 2 false metul \m/

  • good work!

  • This is a great video to learn how to not play metal. Thanks!

  • @dythrash I would g

  • when i played that it reminded me of the good life

  • what amp is that

  • i remember when i was 12

  • hahahahahahaha GARBAGE! im crying laughing right now this is so bad hahah the tone, the tuning, but mainly the riff. there is nothing metal about this hhahhahahahaaha

  • @dythrash ur garbage suck an ass

  • @ps3player190 haha sure buddy. you prob rule guitar hero on ps3 like your name suggest, but you can actually check out my REAL band Doomed Youth. myspace .com / doomedyouthpunx for some real crossover thrash and real riffs.

  • Yeah the title has its true name easy riff, but I dind´t tough it would be that easy just to follow it on Drop xD

  • how the hell do u make that noise at 1:15 the 3+?????????

  • @ErikTheCooky Look up natural harmonics

  • @ErikTheCooky It's called a natural harmonic, look up how to to do in youtube.

  • Meh.

  • im a drummer and a complete n00b in guitar, so i play the same easy riffs in drop, just for fun, this video was really helpfull, thanks

  • sounds a bit like hand of blood from bullet for my valentine..

  • SOUNDS LIKE ONE OF THE SONGS IN SOLDAT!!!!!!! Methul!!!

  • its me or that armonics sound as dethklok?? xD

  • It doesn't even make sense musically. It would be better if you hammered from 5 to 7, instead of 5 to 6. Other than that, awesome riff! Thanks for helping me gain some guitar chops!

  • the begining sounds like burzum's war...

  • if your going to play a METAL RIFF get some heavier distortion, sounds like shit.

  • nice riff, but your your first tab shown doesn't match...

  • Good stuff bro :)

  • sounds like hand of blood

  • thnks man, i play guitar for about 5 months.. this easy and realy cool to practice =)

  • I think you played great. Never thought to play metal like this, using one noted stuff. I got a Schecter Damien FR on Monday cuz I was at Colorado with family and I needed something simple to work with and this gave me some ideas. I usually play my stuff on like the first 8 riffs, I think metal riffs sounds heaviest that way. Anyway, I'll let you know if I come up with anything.

  • Bomb tune man.

  • ur playing the cords that are all on 1 fret bar with 1 finger. i cant do that, i gatta use 3 individual fingers per string. i think that cause i tuned my guitar a bit too high cause i gatta REALLY press down to get an good sound. as for the riff, ur just overtuning the bass to make it sound like a chainsaw and playing very simple riff. then again, that is what ur trying to do. so thanks good video for beginners that are going for metal.

  • drop D gets boring.

  • WHAT TUNING IS THIS, IT SOUNDS LIKE SHIT! sorry bro. :P

  • @Deathz0r94 my bad, D standard lmao

  • Whoa.

  • Whoa.

  • im afraid you suck badly :PP

  • @MattKondrath this is a lesson for beginners to play an easy metal riff, not every video of a guy playing guitar is showing off to assclowns like u.

  • ur garbage

  • lol

  • what do the plusses mean?

  • dude what r you talking about you regret the spider 3 i own one i love the fuck outta it =] just got to know how to use it

  • lolwat?

  • wow thats shitty

  • great!thanks!fi experience at the first time that when i´m playing guitar it could sounds like metal^^

  • best riff eva !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

  • Remind me a of abit of master of puppets mixed with harvester of sorrow

  • To play good metal turn up your distortion all the way and add alot of bass and half treble at tune drop C or bye a good 7 string and get EMG 81 85s also do alot of palm mutes

  • @chelseagrin2012 for real metal tune to Eb

  • Comment removed

  • @BURNTHEWEAKMUSIC Dumb shit i'm talking about death core fuckin jew bitch, and wood does matter if you but it onna bottle it would sound wayyyyy different and most real metal guitarists use emg im not talkin bout shitty old metal im talkin bout nu metal or death core and metal core and shit like that. the only good band that is good from the 80s is ozzy osbourne and his guitarist uses...81 85S!!!!!!!! EMGs! fucking dumbass

  • good riff

  • what the fuck? what a shitty riff

  • Nice....

  • horrible.

  • dude no offense bro but if you are making a vid with tabs, try to make them correct. The 1st riff you tab your missing something. Should be:

    0 0 7h8 0 5h6 0 3h4 0 2h3 0 3h2

  • i thought it sounded gd slow like a more destressed sound

  • sounds crappy, maybe more high gain and lower mids and non-crappy riffs it would sound good :D

  • Wow... I mean... awesome :O It's so cool... but I'm too slow for this... year \m/

  • dude this is bad ass! love the slow tempo to compliment the tabs. awesome job dude! 5/5

  • @AnotherMiserableTeen

i have an mt-2 boss pedal with a squier strat, sounds almost perfect, but i dont use the big E string dropped to D, only the A and the D strings.

  • Comment removed

  • I am just starting to play metal music. Could you please pm me with the EXACT amp settings you have on that riff. If you're using a pedal or something other than an amp please specify. Thanks

  • @AnotherMiserableTeen

I wish I could help, but I don't think I have the settings saved on my computer any more.

All I remember is that the head was based off of Line 6's Insane setting (although I really don't suggest going out and buying a Spider III amp. They don't sound good and I regret buying mine)

  • @fghtffyrobesity Dude Line 6 Spider III amps are the shit, when you know how to get the best of them. And pleasssseee tune before you teach, set up the example man. (Don't tell me you tuned it, everyone can hear it)

  • @fghtffyrobesity i have a spider 3 and i think it sounds great although it is heavy

  • @fghtffyrobesity Yeah i agree line 6 is way over rated. My friend had one and instead of insane B he would use the C setting which i do not recall its name. You haven't heard metal until you play a schecter or LTD through a mesa boogie halfstack. Which i cant afford any of that. But thats why music shops let you play them. Hah.

  • @fghtffyrobesity

I have a Line6 and it sounds great, maybe yours had a defect?

  • @fghtffyrobesity Line 6 sounds great -.- .. I play with a Squier by Fender and a Line 6 Spider IV amp 30 watts ... CRAZZZYY SOUND :)

  • @fghtffyrobesity i have the spider 4 hehe

  • @fghtffyrobesity thats what i have but i use the metal setting, because it helps with the bigger chords and definition. I think its good but playing loud enough to jam with drums causes complecations.

  • @fghtffyrobesity me to man worst amp i ever bought some time later i got a peavey viper it was much better but now i use the vox tv4mini man i luv that tube tone!

  • @fghtffyrobesity I have a spider line 6 and I like mine, but its not a good amp for Blues...but the Insane setting will get you through most metal riffs....especially if you drop D tune the guitar....

  • @bluedaddy23 Just wait till you get a real amp. Youll wonder why you ever bought that p.o.s spider. High gain Tube amps all the way.

  • @TheSchafer78 well thats just one of my amps......I have a Marshall 4x12 200wt, and a Mesa Boogie, so I guess I am pretty much covered on amps......

  • @AnotherMiserableTeen ok if you want to play metal, all you need to know for eq is moderately high to high treble any where between 6 and 9 , low to no mids, i usually keep my on about 3, and lots of bass i keep mine between 7 and 10 and mid to high gain, mine will range between 5 and 8 anything over 8 gets muddy and its better to play with crisp tones. experiment a little though and find your own unique sound, imitating is good but be you and make your own sounds.

  • @AnotherMiserableTeen ...this isnt really a sound you would want to be playing metal. id reccomend to buy a boss metalcore pedal and learn to drop tune to C. and learn basics such as off chords, pinch harmonics and alternate picking =)

  • @AnotherMiserableTeen Dude, the metal ones i know are, gain at max, treble or Lows at max, middles are cut (so you don't use the mids) and bass or high at the max. Than you can add some effects.

  • @AnotherMiserableTeen just cut the mids and you'll already have a badass sound

  • DAMN SON!!!! You are good

  • Comment removed

  • love the sound. but pay your electric bill and turn the lights on.lol.

  • thats not metal, more liek grunge

  • DROP D? OH SHIT THAT'S HEAVY! idk if i can handle it...

  • @bythewaysideguitar lmao. man C STANDARD FTW! but im playing Baroness and High on Fire and shit.

  • hahaah you are kidding right

  • a natural harmonic is were you hold your finger over the the bars on the fret board and lightly touch the string it works best on 3-5-7-12

  • i know how to do pinch harmonics but how do you do a natural harmonic what are them?

  • rofl no its not hand of blood

  • hmm he has some effects..

  • sounds like you're trying to rip off a classic Pantera riff from Mouth for War, just changing it up a little.

  • I agree...thanks for nothing

  • get a better tone to that guitar. too much bass. way too much

  • @Nothingtearsthebeast yeah, too much noise too :D

  • what guitar is that specificly?

  • It is an Epiphone LP-100

  • sweet

  • the 5-6 and 2-3 don't sound really cool in my opinion.

    it should be 0-0- 8-10 -0- 7-8 -0- 5-7 or something ;P

    sounds way more metal.

  • you suck. this is not metal. please kill yourself.

  • uh... very good guy =D

    5 stars to you

  • 1:22 to 1:26 was the best part but instead of nh try pinch, they sound badass.

  • pinch harmonics are hard to do on the long strings

  • pretty bad ass riff and i only heard 20 secs of it

  • tune that fucking guitar

  • I made sure that everything was tuned before I recorded anything. It's cool bro.

  • @fghtffyrobesity it could just be tuned exactly to dropped d but not intonated and/or setup correctly for that tuning. So it's in tune while playing open strings but not so much fretted.

  • @fghtffyrobesity are you sure you made sure?

  • go tune urs

  • @Austinramirez1111 nice comback. fail and my 7 string is always in perfect tune

  • @xADEAN4DIMEx The guitar is tuned to drop d

  • -1...

  • thanke you very cool riff!!!

  • sry im a totally newbie in playing uitar what does the h and the p stand for? good vid btw

  • Hammer on (tap the string)

Pull off (pull your finger off the string like picking it.. )

  • hammer on's and pull off's. there easy =P

  • H- is a hammer on P is a pull off. search those up :)

  • H - Hammer on.

P - Pull off. look up the definitions on your own. Im not sure how to explain.

  • P = Pull off

    H = Hammer on

  • or in scientific terms, pH=potential of Hydrogen.

  • ok, first do not talk about scientific terms when play you dumbass, and this breakdown video blows cock

  • what scientific term did he say? (dare i ask) cuz if its "natural harmonic", that is a music term, not a science term.

  • I think he was referring to when I went over the theory of relativity.

  • I like it slower better......thanks!

  • Your intro should say "How to play an easy metal riff"

  • aha! i've figured out why i couldnt figure out the intro!! u forgot to put the 3h4 after the 5h6. just putting that out there......

  • WHERES THE LEAD!!!??!?!?!? THE SWEEPS, TAPS, LEGATO! keep it up, man

  • you messed up your tab on the first part. you only have 3 hammer-on parts in it, but when it's played, there's 4.

  • really cool Subsribed! ,, dude the intro to it kinda sounded liike that old game uhmm.. Doom 1 like the first level and shit.. beast! man

  • haha dude man this is a sic vid you need to make a other one showing how to acually play

  • tune to drop A

  • What model guitar do you have, dude? What kind of amp?

  • In this video I am playing an Epiphone LP100 through a GuitarPort interface.

  • dude check out waking the cadaver- blood splattered satisfaction. but warning the vocals are wierd. but its still a decent song lol.

  • dude awsome!!!!! i got it but wow that is one good riff do more man.

  • hey there, can u msg me the tabs, srry i can nvr follow video tabs, thnx and awesome riff!

  • well lets see.... i have a crappy first act amp/guitar and it sounds out perfectly... thx dude this riff is cool! i can get it but the timing is tricky

  • How do you do that weird harmonic on the third fret?

  • It's a natural harmonic. Just lay your finger right on top of the fret wire of the third fret.

  • Easier said than done. I've tried it a million times, but I still can't quite get it. Does it have to be all three strings, or can you just do it on one of them?

  • It might be your set up. If your playing a squire on a small practice amp forget, but if you have a fender strat on a JSX head then it comes easier. :)

  • I've got an Epiphone Crestwood Strat and a Silvertone Lucky III's amplifier. Maybe if I had humbuckers, I'd be able to have a more ballsy sound and give me that sound.

  • Sorry, Smart III's.

  • This is a pretty cool riff. I figured it out better. It's a bit tricky, but I'm really getting it.

  • I dont want to be just another hater, but this riff fucking sucks ass, i would never waste my time learning this crap.

  • so you cant play it?

  • Comment removed

  • what should i drop it down to?

  • its good playing some metal when we have a complete gadget or amp... right???

  • I tried that and made it heavier by drop it to a D -standard then dropped it a a whole step down er some thing like that and added in some low harmonics

  • isnt that drop c?
