P.S.: The tower was built not to celebrate the creation of the police force, but to celebrate the fact that Sir Robert repealed the Corn Laws... making the poor starving Lancashire lads and lasses of the time happy :D
P.S.S.: In your 4-hour walk did you get as far as the Pilgrim's Cross?
