  • they've been spotted here in NZ too, out Otago way mainly

  • Awesome!! It's really stupid to say "shoot it". We have so many dangerous animals in Australia. Should we also shoot ALL of them? How many people have been killed by crocodiles in Australia? And how many have been killed by these big cats (whatever they are)? They're obviously elusive and shy away from humans. Let them be.

  • We have been having regular sightings of big cats in Britain too, i think someone back in the Empire days was transporting them.

  • What is going to take for the Government to do something. I've heard about this for years & always though it was bullshit. But now they have been videoed on what more proof do you need.

The Government should put together a Task Force together and go out & shoot these animals. There can't be Real big numbers of them. If they start soon they should be able to kill them all in a around about a Year 1/2. The longer they wait the more of there will be. What the fuck is the Government waiting for.

  • These animals should be shot. There not native to Australia, they have been introduced. They will cause harm to the native animals, and most importantly they can ''KILL'' people. The Government should have these animals killed.

If anyone sees them shoot them.

  • i live in melbourne...so im pretty sure im safe

  • ive herd theres a few in victoria ive seen one very big cat took a shot but to far away

  • melanistic jaguars look at build and body shape

  • you know i dont know that i believe these people that say that these cats cant exist in the united states ive showed my little brtother pictures and he has told me it looked just like these cats in this video and the other large black cat pictures that look like them and there are thousands of sighting in the u.s.a. so what kind of cat theyare is the question not whether they exist in australlia or the u.s.a.

  • they say the same thing about the sighting of big black cats in north america but there are thousands of people that have seen them and reported shooting them and they still say they dont have evidence to say they exist my family has seen these big cats in my home state of tennessee not but a few miles from where i live and i have found tracks and i have heard their screams

  • i want a gun now

  • THESE ARE REAL!! I've seen it 2 times in the past 8 years. My family has seen it, and pretty much every person living in my street has seen it at least once. I live in a suburb along the beach and mountain. My street backs onto forest bush land. It walks through everyones backyard. It eats house hold pets. My mum saw it about a week ago up a tree in my backyard. Anyone who doesn't believe these are real are very naive.

  • there real

  • um cacth one?

  • thylacine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! not a big cat maybe it evolved to stay from humans,.

  • thylacine of big cat??

  • Im from South Australia, I head to salt creek for fishing a fair amount, a few short weeks ago I was headed to Salt creek and at about 3:30am was about 1km from Meningie, when I saw a panther on the side of the road, I also thought it was a pig due to the hair on the back of its neck/shoulders, it was a very intelligent creature as it knew that if it stayed still in the dark it was difficult to see, after jumping on the brakes to get a better look we passed it (as we were doing 110km) and it ran

  • i was out roo hunting last night in mt gambier and me and my mate seen sumthing black roughly a hundred metres away run and leap up a bank and into the forrest it covered about forty metres in about 2 seconds!!!! it was atleast three metres long, the only thing capable of moving like the thing i saw last nite is a big cat!!!!

  • @MrLaurenmaxfield . There have been a lot of reports around mt gambier by forest workers, farmers and people driving the roads. am glad they are still being seen there! are you able to contact me. i work for the paper.

  • It's funny that here in Northern British Columbia Canada we have the same physical Evidence of "Sasquatch"or"Bigfoot"(Hair samples,Footpints in cast,Pictures, videos,Audio tapes and Eye witnesses)yet if you're telling someone about 'Bigfoot"evidences 75% of the people you're telling to will think you're fucking Insane lol.But the reality is that it would be more likely Bigfoot would go on unnoticed because te population is so low in Northern Canada 60% of Canada population is under 50000

  • @jozsefkacsa fucking troll, don't bring a sasquatch debate here, it affects the credibility of Australian big cats, which are much more probable than a secret humanoid no one can detect or get clear pictures of. Without mentionning the natives don't even have them as part of their folklore or legends and they've been around for so long (15000+ years?), so it makes absolutely, no, fucking, sense.

  • i would say anything is possible and the same sightings have been seen all across the u.s.a. china and the world

  • @SilverSoul1496 (Cntd) It is with this in mind that I would like to propose an alternative reason why, if they are not Feral Cats or an undiscovered Marsupials that they are there. Acclimatisation societies were popular in the 19th century, particularly in Australia and other colonies. There mission was to introduce animals from around the world for commercial, sports or nostalgic reasons. They were particularly active in Victoria where they tried to introduce Chimps in the Dandenongs.

  • @SilverSoul (Cntd) They are wholly Australian. This is because even when sea levels were low there was an ocean crossing that as far as mammals are concerned only Bats could really cross it. The Tiger is found in all extremes of climate and terrain plus they are excellent swimmers to boot yet even they could not make it pass Wallace's line. 2: Panthers are a Hypermelanistic mutation of Leopard. So why aren't there sightings of regular Leopards. There are always bound to be throwbacks (cntd)

  • @SilverSoul1496 You mentioned in your video that there may have been a small population of panthers that was already found here that probably came down from Indonesia. There are two problems with this. 1: There is a Biogeographical phenomenon called Wallace's line that exists between the islands of Bali and Lombok that present the tipping point between Asian animals and Australian animals. South of this animals become more Australian until by the time you get to Papua New Guinea they are (cntd)

  • I can fight these cats at your request. I will win the debate!

  • It's good to know that these people are so sure that there is something out there.

  • i think if it can kill a cow it can kill a human too

  • im made a mistake in my sentence i meant south east

  • im an australian in the south eat of queensland i think there real. near our farm dad said that he found a cat but it was only small so it was most likely to a feral cat its freak but thats why they built gun

  • I have seen one of these cat/panthers I was on my way to the snow at perisher and I saw it walking into a small gully and it was huge I am certain 100% certain it was a big panther no joke they are real I couldn't get any footage because I was on the bus driving bye

  • I seen one today at my local golf course so fucking scary :( i want proof so bad im goin back at dusk 2moz...

  • i saw one in wedderburn located 51 kilometres south-west of the Sydney in the bush while driving at night.. i had a good look and was blown away at what was before me...

  • my mate seen a panther just out of naracoorte south east australia and he dont lie!!!!!!!

  • 9:55....oh how wrong you are lady

  • I've seen roo's killed and draged in behind logs, claw marks on trees, cow with claw marks on there hind quaters and sore it one night baling straw and again spot lighting. But when you tell people they think your crazy.

  • you should read the newish book australian big cats, it's really interesting and will make all the skeptics think again. Also the black panthers can also be jaguars as was the one at 0:58 in your video

  • wouldent mind hunting one with my bow

  • ive seen one at wisemans ferry before, and on the putty road. there was also a guy in kenthurst nsw who was attacked by a large black cat back a few years ago.

  • i live in wilberforce NSW ( near windsor ) i have sen this panther.. i dont care what people say but i know ive seen it... it jumped down from a tree and made a large thump... was not a dog.. but was defiantley a large large cat..

all i have to say about this is... is that it was only 10 years ago we found the wollomii pine.. and thats a tree that stands still... whats to say we havent caught an animal that moves around...

  • in perth wa in our live stock badic i saw a huge cat when i was checing the new born calfs. i was in a car so i tried to chase it but it jumped over the fence and ran a way.it look like a panther or a big black cougar.next morning i checkt the cows two had large chunks and scrachez on them an there was a half eaten calf in a tree 4m of the ground. and ive heard that sound a few times but they souned at least 300 metres away.

    two nights ago;

  • @TheGreir where abouts do you live?

  • masterchiefsturndown... yeh i saw red hill too mate.

But if i come accross 1 when spotlighting 1 night il bloody bag it n skin it!!!

  • i saw one in red hill victoria a few years back

  • I saw a big black cat, about 6-7 ft with tail, just outside of Maryborough,Vic, approx 10 years ago

  • We've seen one on a fishing trip at Wonboyn Lake, NSW

  • yes, seen it, in Glenorie NSW, 45mins nth west of sydney crossing my horses paddock... yes it was a panther, no it wasnt a feral cat, no it wasnt a bob cat, no im not on drugs, no im not crazy, no im not a liar, no it wasnt a figment of my imagination.

It was a panther, P.A.N.T.H.E.R. nothing more, nothing less. Cant tell you if it were black leopard, jaguar, or the like, just that it was a panther... panther defination: large black cat ; name used to describe a large cat family black cat

  • no effing way this wildlife shiela know's what she's talking about mate.. a feral cat descendant of a household domestic cat would reach probably not even a quarter of the size of these things. i mean comeon... this guy has a 60cm tail from one. enough said? an animal with a tail over 1m long is a big boy for sure. probably 2-2.5m's in length.

  • in a way i get scared by this stuff. what if we go out at night and it takes someone? they're killing kangaroos and horses so it could easily kill an adult. one bite in the right spot and it would kill you. i don't believe they're feral cats i believe they're panthers or pumas. we don't want thesr animals in our country. if they multiply they will wreck our farms by killing the livestock! we have to put up with wild dogs killing the goats but we don't want these things killing the bigger things!

  • @TheSophaman

would hate to burst the bubble but they already have ruined farms killing livestock. I saw one at midnight in my horses paddock, can tell u know i wasnt impressed

  • Saw one this morning run out of the bush at Norah Head, it got scared of a tree lopper guy with a chainsaw, it was unbeleivable, I thought it was bullshit years ago.

    Not any more.

  • Saw one out the back of Longford, Vic about two weeks ago, it was just walking along the road until it saw us, and with two or three steps it was off the other side of the road and gone,

I am a skeptic no more.

  • makes me wonder do hidden creatures live amongst us.

  • @Scizor3D

    yes

start researching yowies & bigfoots. Good place to start is yowiehunters website

  • i have seen a large cat crossing the road twice in the past few weeks, this one looks more like a couger, the size of a large dog, cant make out the colour but does'nt look black.spotted half way between minlaton and ardrossan on the york peninsular.S A,about 250 mtrs from a large farmouse although there are no other properties nearby.mostly flat fields and sparse low scrubland.now hearing reports from other locals of seeing similar large cat in the same area. going back to look for evidence.

  • my mum spotted one last week around the penninsular south sustralia just before dark

  • If I ever spot one, I'll be sure to do quickly pose like he does at 6:41

  • Saw one in the early 2000's bastered sat there there were ten of us unfortunately no rifle saw it at broadford victoria about 50 minutes from Melbourne very rugged terrain. The trouble is no-one has a body to examine and for all I care this could be a prehistoric animal that survives in limited numbers like is suspected with mungoon gali the giant gonna

  • I took several pics of big paw prints on our property last weekend, the print was about 10cm across and you could clearly see the claw marks in the mud.

we are building a large trap to catch one ... hopefully.

the front and rear prints are about a meter apart.

  • I am a retired Army Helicopter Aircrewman. About 5 years ago, I saw one North of Oakey over a training area known to us as Lima 5. We were conducting an NVG hoist over the external load pad when I saw the Cat run from under the aircraft , accross the clearing and into the tree line to the North. Initially thought that was big, but realised it was VERY big because we were at 70 feet.

  • @v8rangee cats mostly walk with their claws retracted, if you see claw marks it is generally a dog.

  • that woman is fuckin full of shit ofcourse its panthers old mate shot one with a 308 blew its head of when it started running at him

  • it has been proven that feral domestic cats do not grow much larger than they already are. its peoples memories playing tricks on them.

But, i do beleive they are out there, i have photos of some tracks taken from the werribee gorge in victoria and they match up exactly to the prints of a leopard/cougar/panther.

  • @theQuickster1 I've seen numerous stray cats but I've never recalled them being as large as a rotweiler. I find it terribly hard to believe that these people are ALL misidentifying domestic cats. Some of the videos are pretty good, but there is rarely anything for scale. If the trees and logs near the animal are large, it'd be a large cat. But those same trees and logs could very well be little more than bush's and twigs. You have to have an indentifiable object for scale.

  • Saw one in the Otways in the 80's.

Was on my horse - we both froze and had a stand off as the cat sized me up - no kidding. My horse reared and this scared the cat off. It then jumped up a three meter embankment - was less than 15 meters from each other. Know what I saw, scared the crap out of my horse which bolted. Panther - absolutely, postively, NO DOUBT !

  • I definitly beleive they are out there. I hope someone shoots one so they can prove it.

  • Some of the pictures look like domestic cats. Some don't. Very interesting! Thanks.

  • one day me and a mate went hunting in a state forest in western Victoria. as we were walking through a bush track we noticed a big black object about 500 meters away. i just thought that it was a feral pig or dog, so we loaded up and crept up on it. as we got about 200 meters away from the object we laid down and looked through the scope. we couldn't believe what we were cing. A massive black "cat" eating the neck of a sambar deer. i am telling you now that was no cat that was a fuc*in panther.

  • Excellent vid, fantastic research, my son and daughter saw a black panther in the Stirling Ranges in WA - and there is no way it was a feral cat. Never before had I seen them so terrified. Let's hope some high qualty images or video footage is produced soon.

  • fml we are all dead

  • I saw one about 20 years ago in western Sydney.

I had the car high beams on as I came upon the panther in the middle of the road eating what may have been road kill.

It's coat was a shiny jet black and it's eyes were glowing. After sounding the horn for it to move, it casually got up and slowly slinked away into the bush.

There is absolutely no way that a cat gone feral can grow that big.

I'm 100% certain that I saw what I can only describe as a panther.

  • @wotsthescore

To add to the above, it looked similar to the one in the video at 00:58 sec only the one I saw seemed leaner and it's muscles were more defined. It's legs were skinnier and I'm sure it was taller. It was 20 years ago but what I saw that night will be etched in my memory forever.

  • i remember what it looked like, at night, it was huge and black, it was a beautiful sly creature, it had yellow eyes and they were staring at me! it opened its mouth and i say huge white teeth! it was a beautiful sight, but terrifying at the same time!

  • I love animals and i know that the feline can be a danger to us but i just want it to stay free in the bush, if anyone caught the cat and killed it, WE would be as bad as the cat! i suggest we just leave it be and it wont bother us.

  • I went camping in the bush with my best friend and during the night we heard rustling so we looked outside and there was this HUGE black cat walking through the bushes! We were so scared that we zipped up our tents and tried to go to sleep XD

  • I use to live in the lower blue mountains, and use to do a lot of bushwalking around the Springwood region. I never saw a big cat, but I certainly heard something very large (human size) it either took long steps or leaped as it was running off through the bush.nothing like a kangaroo or walaby. People say I heard a bunyip, but after seeing these clips now Im thinking it was a big cat.

  • Wow, they've been lurking around in the bush from 1900's. If you live in country areas with some bushland, you might be lucky and find one. To me I think their feral cats, even dna tests on the cat's tail and cat's poop are 98 percent certain to be feral cats. Their probally so big because they've been lurking around in our bushes for years feasting on other animals like cows and birds from our farms and the wild

  • Alot of this evidence is amazing, but some you can tell are just feral cats.

  • I've seen one when hiking along the Howqua river near Mt Buller in Vic in 1999. 100% panther. I've seen massive feral cats, and this was a whole other level.

  • at the begining of your video i seen u asked if it could be from when Indonesia was once connected to Australia...i believe this could be the certain truth...as also i found on google when researching this, large amount of dead dingoes were found to have claw marks and bites similiar to that of big cats and the goverment said it was dingoes fighting 1 another..but since when do dingoes leave claw marks?..exactly they dont

  • Bet you it's a huge government conspiracy, In the early days they were brought over for some extensive research when they were mysteriously released into the wild. So the government closed up shop and would later deny any existence of Panthers.

  • SSAA magazine had an article in this months magazine. Thought I would jump on the web and check it out.

  • Very good presentation

  • Friends of mine ran a chook farm at Wonga Park, on the Eastern edge of Melbourne metro area. They would discard dead chooks outside the sheds.Foxes would eat them overnight. Several times, they spotted a large cat greater than 1 Metre in length near the chook sheds. There were also footprints in the mud. I also heard the throaty purring-growl of a large cat walking past the sheds one night when working on a car in the empty shed. No mistaking that sound for anything else. 100% convinced.

  • My ex-brother in law was a cop in the small North-West Victorian town of Avoca. He was well aware of sightings in that area on a semi-regular basis. The official line was to deny anything. They didn't want car loads of knuckle-heads with guns roaming the area looking for something to shoot.

  • i saw one down the south coast of nsw in the late 70's .

  • OMG I read about these in one of my games shooter mags, There was even a photo (is featured in your vid) of a shoot big cat, but the head was blasted to smitherens.

Also read about giant dogs, some of which had been sighted by one of our far nieghbours

  • @TheEvilDarkLink opps I ment my dads shooter mags, not games

  • @TheEvilDarkLink Yeah Australia's a large country and we've only been here for about 200 years...So really, there could be anything out here. Can you tell me more about the giant dogs your neighbors saw?

  • @SilverSoul1496 they looked like normal dogs just a hell of alot bigger and mostly with dark coloured coats

  • @TheEvilDarkLink Iv'e been trying to find the world record for the largest wild cat shot, but it seems such a record hasn't been claimed. Do you know of any magazines or resources, maybe a competition where the biggest wild cat killed gets somthing. Im just trying to find some validation to peoples claims that wild cats grow to twice the size of normal cats.

  • @chickurken there was an artical in an Australian Shooters mag, I wouldnt be able to tell you which one or what year cause I read the artical a fair few years back. Sorry I can help you more. I will look into it and see if I can find out
