There are many Christians and Secular ppl in the Iraqi resistance, so it's not about not being Muslim, but about freedom and justice. The us deprives the Iraqi ppl of freedom and committs countless atrocities, that's why the Iraqi's are fighting the us. I was a US soldier and not a resistance member. We took information off of everybody we captured and we never came across a christian. I don't think that the US has to apologize for anything, but I do think its time to let Iraqis decide for themselves whether or not they can sustain themselves. There have been massacres by US soldiers but they are few in number. We do kill civilians but they try to kill us first, they then become combatants. To make us look bad they take rifles off their dead.

Would that not be considered murder? If some say it's the military, it's a war, the same rules don't apply, but isn't "execution" also illegal? Would this than be a war crime? I wish I had more info as to that person who was shot. Did he have a weapon, a bomb, a grenade? Was he a civilian? He was on the ground, shot, didn't appear to be a threat, he was executed & they cheered the loss of life. Does anyone have any more info on this incident? The info side bar hasn't got enough info.

Most people there are being told to "rise up and kill all christians and jews for not being a muslim"
With that and all the suicidal people there who think there going to allah or whatever he is should be took out and i think the guy was one of them.
Just my 2 cents but i think overall the Yanks are doing a good job there and hopefully should have the war rapped up soon with the help from us and other allies

There are many Christians and Secular ppl in the Iraqi resistance, so it's not about not being Muslim, but about freedom and justice. The us deprives the Iraqi ppl of freedom and committs countless atrocities, that's why the Iraqi's are fighting the us. Nobody is telling ppl to "kill all christians and jews" except some nuts that are being fought by the Iraqi resistance as well. ( By the way these nuts came to Iraq, just after the us invaded).
It's a war against imperialism, not against a faith.

The us is depriving Iraq of its resources. It is occupying Iraq and depriving the Iraqis of their right to self-determination. Further the installed regime is nothing but a puppet that is not recognized by the Iraqi ppl. That's why there is popular resistance against the us and the puppet regime. (Oh and you gave Saddam the weapons to gas kurds, supported his dictatorship as long as he was obedient enough).
As stated the religious extremists are not the allies but enemies of the Iraqis.

I never came across one Christian in the resistance when I was over there. It's un-heard of. The Iraqi people voted in their current president, and if they dont like him they have the right not to vote for him again, or even to impeach him if they feel necessary. France gave Iraq a shit ton of weapons where is your criticism of them. I can understand why they would fight us at the beginning but not after they had their first elections and we started to make progress.

The elections held were a joke. False counting, reprisals against voters etc.
If you want me to critisize France (which is a bit off-topic), well then I hereby publicly critisize the French govt. for supporting Saddam Hussein. Happy now? Evil deeds by one govt. to not make the deeds of another any more excusable.

I was a US soldier and not a resistance member. We took information off of everybody we captured and we never came across a christian. I don't think that the US has to apologize for anything, but I do think its time to let Iraqis decide for themselves whether or not they can sustain themselves. There have been massacres by US soldiers but they are few in number. We do kill civilians but they try to kill us first, they then become combatants. To make us look bad they take rifles off their dead.

lol and you don't stop them from taking away the rifles? That's nonsense. us deserters have stated that its a regular way of acting to put weapons next to murdered civilians in order to claim the dead as enemy combatants.
The Iraqis were far better off with Saddam than with the new puppet regime.

Combat isnt as cut and dried as you make it seem. Alot of times we are just shooting from where tracers are coming from inside of buildings, reed lines, vehicles etc. Combatants can easily take rifles of off dead or wounded friends and point the finger straight at us. U.S. deserters are just trying to find a way to justify their cowardice, if I were you I wouldnt put much faith into what they say.

@hakkamalukku yes deserters are cowards its a totally volunteer military nobody forced them to enlist. so no there reports cannot be trusted. i served 3 tours in iraq including the invasion. i was there when they hung those blacke water men from that bridge. but yeah the iraqi's are good people. i know its not all of them but i cant stand the ones that want to impose there will on others when that isnt even there country of orgin.

Many us servicemen are forced into the army by bad living conditions. The army specializes in recruiting ppl from districts with high crime rates and poor living standarts, promising the ppl all kind of stuff. Once they see reality they realize it's not patriotic or humane to aid in the opression and exploitation of another ppl. The patriotic thing would be to take to the streets and demand that your govt. stops its's imperialist agenda.

I wouldn't hate any american soldier as long as he protects himsself in his country. It's his right to use deadly force in there.
However in my opinion ppl that go to occupy a foreign country do not fall into that category. That was true with Germany's soldiers in ww2 and it is true with americas soldiers today.
