Anthony Hopkins got all the attention and acclaim when this movie came out, and he no doubt deserved it. He was marvelous. But Ted Levine's performance was unfairly in the shadow of Hopkins's. Thankfully over the years appreciation for his truly magnificent portrayal of Jame Gumb has grown! He did such a fantastic job. This was truly a legendary film character as well as Lecter. FRIGGIN' AWESOME. And yes, horribly disturbing. It couldn't have been better, though.

@leinadelgnairt Buffalo Bill is who you see here. He has this girl in a well thing under his basement. Hannibal Lector is in jail and some woman played by Jodie Foster is a reporter or detective or something and is trying to get Lector to tell her Bill's whereabouts, any leads, etc. Just like one big, really well-done CSI episode. Saw it a few months ago. That help? :)

@thunderheart226 - In the bathtub was the old woman who Frederica Bimmel worked for - he killed her and that was her corpse in the tub. Who knows what would happen if he fell in. He most likely simply uses a ladder to get them out of the well.
