well, maybe not but there are solutions. Cut the waste! too much is put on cutting spending, cut the waste and you cut the spending. And if the municipalities planned and invested during their pension payment holiday, things could be better. They squandered a golden opportunity.

@NJECPAC At the time the layoffs were not needed and they were simply advantageous for the city. I don't know what to do with the money situation, I am not the C.F.O. I am a firefighter. No money, then get volunteers and let the city burn!

well, they are supposed to anyway. city council still needs to vote on it one more time. Im not saying the guys are back until they are in uniform again. Thanks for the support!

These firefighters don't only work 8 hour shifts,they think and care about us in there off-hours too and show it with compassion such as these things they have done for my family.

We will be contacting the council and if there is EVER a time where you have a meeting that you need people to show up at,just contact me here and we'll be there!!

Many thanks to the Clifton Firefighters who NOT ONLY came to our house to put out a fire caused by an old heater that we used since we couldn't afford to fill our old oil tank, but also for the Clifton Firefighter Patrick that came to our house and spent his own money to buy us a new and so much safer heater. As if that wasn't enough,the Clifton Firefighters contacted a program coordinator that we hope will soon be helping us to pay for oil to fill our tank for much safer heating!

mayor cut some of those enormous teacher salaries. full pay and they do half the job. thats where the fat is not with emergency services like fire and rescue. the school system is broken DONT CUT FIRE.. cut some teachers they can teach five classes a day instead of 2
