  • I have always believed as you say, but I live way up here in the liberal NE in a town where one church has a lesbian who lives with he lover as pastor. We have a couple of gay friends who say they are Christians. They were just married in another church where they are deacons. Many of our friends went to the wedding as they believe as you say, they are all saved by faith alone as their church also preaches.I am disturbed by this, but they seem a lot better than I am with volunteering and helping, etc

  • I never heard of brother J Vernon till today, what a blessing, what truth and what sense spoken,,,,,,:O)

Romans 11:6: And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.

  • Abraham was not saved by works, but, think about it, if Abraham did nothing, would he have any faith?

  • The Sermon on the Mount needs to be viewed for what it is : the Ministry of Death ! (II Cor 3:7) It cannot produce life. But it does an excellent job in revealing how great sinners we are, thereby compelling us to find refuge in the cross of Christ. Sinners, be genuine & honest and accept your condition, and trust Christ. Else, be hypocrites and tell the world that the Sermon has changed you and made you a new creation. Thanks for this video. It's blessed me, and hope will bless many more.

  • "For we see that by works a man is justified and NOT by faith alone." (James 2:24). This is the one verse in St. James's epistle that caused Martin Luther to question the book. He called it, "an epistle of straw." He also wanted to through the book of James out of the Bible until his friends persuaded him that such a move would be "too raidcal." God bless.

  • Faith + Nothing added = Salvation!

Everlasting life sounds like OSAS to me! If people could lose their salvation by their own actions then Jesus was a liar! An overcomer is the one who stays true to the simplicity of the Gospel, that we’re saved by grace through faith, neither adding to nor subtracting from it!

  • Great stuff. Faith alone.

  • he is a courageous man, man of CHRiST, to reveal those we support and we love and we excuse, yet they seek to kill us with our love, charity, we must take these sons of ESAU and bind them, or destroy them, we know who they are,,,,

  • Do you believe that God exists? You do good. The devil believes and trembles.Do you want evidence that faith WITHOUT deeds is useless? Was not our father Abraham not justified when he laid Issac upon the altar? You see that his faith and his actions working together and his faith WAS MADE COMPLETE

as the Scripture sayeth: ABRAHAM BELIEVED GOD AND IT CREDITED TO HIM AS RIGHTEOUSNESS AND HE WAS CALLED THE FRIEND OF GOD.

  • James 2:17-18 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. But someone will say, "You have faith; I have deeds." Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by what I do.

  • I trust Christ and He trusts me with His Great Commission of sharing the gospel. That means that I do the work necessary for fruits worthy of true repentance. There's actually a lot involved in salvation. We don't earn justification, it was done for us by Jesus and we believe we are justified. I wonder if Vernon's going to get around to explaining why we have the Holy Spirit until Judgment day arrives when no man can any longer work???

  • Nothing beats J Vernon McGee! Except Christ!

  • AMEN! Great Sermon . I haven't listened to many of McGee's Sermons but He sounds like a good Ol' Time Preacher like Spurgeon and those of Old.

  • Repentence = Trusting on Christ.

  • @ATLMastering

Repentence = Voluntary sorrow because it offends God, for having done something wrong, together with the resolve to amend one's conduct by taking the necessary means to avoid the occasion of sin.

  • Romans 2:5-6

But according to your hardness and unrepentant heart you are storing up wrath for yourself on the day of wrath and of the revealing of God’s righteous judgment. 6 And he will render to each one according to his works:

  • DECEPTION! DON'T FOOL YOURSELVES!

Salvation is freely given 2 us by God. But if we have faith, the faith will produce works! If we are only saved by faith alone, that means that we can commit murder 1000 times, and still go to Heaven as Luther says. But the book of James states that FAITH WITHOUT WORKS IS DEAD!

We Need God's Commandments & they abide with us till the end of time. The commands are to be kept still!

  • @Thecontroversy7 Thou shalt not kill is a commandment.

  • @Thecontroversy7 That lady in Luke 7 verse 50 didn't produce any works to be saved. Jesus told her right on the spot that her faith saved her. Then told her go in peace. Lordship Salvation is heresy, clearly evidenced by their adherents having no peace. I trust Jesus alone and sleep well at night. Trusting in work is a ticket to hell.

  • @gore53

Believe what u want 2 believe. But just understand that you have no excuse 2 say "we r not under the law." Salvation is a FREE GIFT FROM GOD. IT CANNOT B BOUGHT NOR EARNED. That is wat the Bible teaches. The Bible also teaches that faith without works is DEAD! If you love Jesus u will keep his commandments. If u have faith in God that faith will produce gud works! And do NOT FALL 4 THE LIE OF ONCE SAVED ALWAYS SAVED. The Bible teaches NOTHING OF SUCH

Believe wat u want. u hav a choice

  • @Thecontroversy7 "For sin shall not have dominion over you: for you are not under the law, but under grace."

Sure sounds like we are NOT under law. And if someone doesn't believe in eternal security by the faith OF Christ, there's a reason. They are not saved.

  • AMEN AMEN AND PRAISE GOD .....AMEN !!!!!!!!!!!!

  • AMEN !!!!!!! Ephesians 2:8-9 8For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

9Not of works, lest any man should boast.

  • Thanks for sharing God Bless.

  • Really good!

  • I COULD SIT AND LISTEN INTENTLY TO J. VERNON MCGEE FOR HOURS..I LOVE A BIBLICAL TEACHER WHO SPEAKS THROUGH THE HOLY SPIRIT...GOD BLESS HIM..RESTING IN PEACE IN THE PRESENCE OF OUR LORD NOW. AGAPE <3

  • I still listen to Derek Prince. He was a wonderful teacher of the BIBLE and he truly loved the Lord. He died in Israel, if I'm not mistaken. This teaching is good. I never heard this man before.

  • Thanks for the video much love !

Be blessings the for people for !

  • 14What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him? 15If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, 16And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit? 17Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone....26For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also. - James2

  • i,ve listen to many hours of j vernon mcgee on the car radio........

  • saved by grace alone, the free gift of God, but not so free, because Jesus paid it all for us,and so for me it's,,,faith results in works,, or it's not faith in the first place it's counterfeit, so we who believe and place our trust in Christ, desire with all our heart to serve God, because we love Him we serve Him, so we have no excuse for sin or want to sin as some tell us when we believe in salvation through grace alone, free to us,to all, let's embrace it, to God be all the glory

  • AMEN !! Saved by grace alone, justified through faith alone !!

  • Mark,

Great message and I like the driving background. Very appropriate as that is where I do most of my listing also......

  • @FaithfulMinistries Pt 2: What do the demons believe? the gospel? NO! that there is One God-- Jesus did NOT die for demons, only sinful men. Now, if you continue to believe that our works are necessary to be saved, then i must tell you that you are in agreement with the official position of the Roman Catholic Church, and Paul's entire letter to the Galatians was written to refute that unbiblical doctrine. Again, those who are saved will produce good fruit, but they are not efficacious in anyway.

  • @FaithfulMinistries The Book of Romans speaks about being justified BEFORE God-- James is speaking about being justified BEFORE men, ch 2:18. How will men know that we are saved? by the good works that we do. When interpreting Scripture, it is good to know why each Book was written, that way, you will know how to interpret the verses. Here is a good hint: who is speaking, who is being spoken to and what is being spoken about. Remember, a text out of context is a pretext. James 3:24? Cont...

  • As a calvinist, i disagree with Mcgee on certain points, but this man has had a very great impact on my faith. He was a great man of God, and i love to hear this mans teaching. The bible bus rolls on!

  • Awesome message. I love Vernon McGee Thank you brother for posting this.

  • @FaithfulMinistries Please see my comments to the other users-- i will not repeat myself here. God bless.

  • @FaithfulMinistries If that's the case then the thief on the cross would be in Hell since he didn't have an opportunity to live a period of time to show he would have walked a consistent holy life and thus earn his seal of approval from the Father.

  • Be it known to all believers in eternal security, those of you that have taught others this lie so that they have neglected to continue to prove a legitimate love for Christ and are rejected of Christ: know this, all you who have taught this lie are held under deep delusion and stricken with blindness so that you shall be reserved in chains of darkness unto death, for you are accursed from God for turning away many from the truth. It is the promise of God himself that you will remain blind.

  • @JoBernard12oxen Firstly: please do not write min-books on my comment threads, i will not allow it. Secondly: no one here is saying that a christian should not live holy an righteous lives, you clearly have NOT watched any of my videos if that is your charge. Thirdly: eternal security IS taught in the Bible and the fact that you reject that Christ can/will keep His own sheep proves that you are ultimately looking to your "righteousness" to be saved. Cont...

  • @ProclaimHisWord Firstly you did not answer even one of the questions, they were legitimate questions. Secondly the point is neither justification nor sanctification, the point is were Christian rejected for their unrighteousness or not, I think the bible make it overwhelming clear, these were Christians "heirs of God" who were told they shall not inherit salvation if they continue in unrighteousness. Thirdly its not about what Christ can do, it all about the free choice he gives all Christians.

  • @JoBernard12oxen " Secondly the point is neither justification nor sanctification"-- wrong again! The video IS about Justification, how a sinner is declared righteous before a Holy God-- as i stated before, those whom God justifies, He sanctifies, it cannot be any other way. Anyone who falls away from the faith, was NEVER saved, Scripture cannot be any clearer, 1 John 2:19-- the fact that they apostasized and turned their backs on the Lord is proof positive that they NEVER belonged to Him.

  • @JoBernard12oxen The God of the Holy Scriptures WILL protect and keep His own sheep to the very end: John 5:24, 6:37, 40, 44&65,10:26-30,17:12, Romans 5:9-10, 8:1, 31-39,1 Corinthians 1:4-9, Ephesians 1:4, 4:30, Philippians 1:6, Hebrews 7:25,13:5,1 Peter 1:4-5,1 John 5:13 and Jude 24-25.

I call on you to repent of your works righteousness and put your faith and trust in the Living God of Scripture-- if you continue on this path, you WILL be damned to hell-- you have been publicly warned.

  • @ProclaimHisWord Good video, Works are simply a fruit of salvation and a result of a reintegrated heart and mind.

  • @JoBernard12oxen Finally, the video is about how a sinner gets saved, how a sinner is made righteous before a Holy God-- it is about JUSTIFICATION, not SANCTIFICATION! now, if you understood the difference between the two, you would not be posting fifty comments telling me that we should live righteous lives before God-- that is SANCTIFICATION! Now, i DARE YOU to go and find a video of mine where i teach "sloppy agape" or "cheap grace"-- i dare you-- find one.

  • @ProclaimHisWord You erased my questions because you can't answer them, they prove that Christ rejected and will reject those of his servants "Christians" if they of their own free will backslide and continue in unrighteousness. All teachings of eternal security are a gross misinterpretation of faith and the grace of God, I gave you the opportunity to see, it but I told you you will never see the truth, you are as the Jew that rejected Christ, reserved in darkness to the end.

  • @JoBernard12oxen You spammed my comment thread, that is why i erased your comments. Now, i have been having this discussion for over four years on YT-- you and the other conditional salvationists are going to have to present more compelling arguments for your position in order for me to change my mind. You are all trusting in your own "righteousness" in order to be saved and you believe in a "saviour" who cannot keep his own to the uttermost-- your doctrine is abominable and unbiblical.

  • R.I.P., Dr. McGee...

  • @FaithfulMinistries Acts 13:39, Romans 4:5, 5:1, Galatians 2:16, 21, 3:6-14, 21-25 and Ephesians 2:8-9.

  • Poor Protestants.

  • AMEN! The gospel is good news!

  • Amen Brother.

  • This is definitely the Gospel and the truth per Spiritual discernment. I wonder why church doesn't teach this!?

  • Amen. Man's righteousness is as filthy rags before God. It is true faith in Christ that causes us to do good works. These works are the external evidence of our faith according to James(the good fruit of a good tree).

  • Praise God! What a gift

  • Great video and sermon! That's the Gospel.

  • I hate when people twist Pauls teachings to preach Torahlessness....... Its pure Abominable... Torah is the heart of our Master YAHUAH... ^_^.......

  • @nuggermyme Friend, i would beg you to go and re-read the Books of Romans and Galatians-- if you believe that we should still be keeping Torah, along with believing in Jesus, then i'm deadly afraid for your soul. Btw, i have a video titled "Faith Alone"-- watch it after reading those two Books.

  • @ProclaimHisWord Beloved Brother i love the Romans and Gal, its just you have to understand what Paul was talking about frequently uses two idiomatic terms "works of the law" and "under the law" to expose false and man made religion. These two terms "works of the law" and "under the law" have been very poorly translated and are being taught erroneously in most Christian and Messianic settings.

You will see soon brother that Torah is the only thing that sets us free in Mashiyach ^_^.......

  • @ProclaimHisWord

Or go and read EVERY other book that testifies that we MUST keep the Commandments, they show our FAITH.

Men twist Paul's words to preach Commandment breaking just like Peter warned about in 2Peter 3:16-17.

We're keeping the Sabbath even in the NEW HEAVENS & NEW EARTH, Isaiah 66. They are for ALL FLESH.

  • @ProclaimHisWord Faith without obedience is not faith, it's is presumption. Faith + nothing = presumption. Presumption + disobedience = HELL!

Hebrews 10:26 He who sins wilfully after having received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,

1John 2:4 He that says, I know him, and keeps not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

  • @AdventistTruth Your username tells me everything i need to know about your belief system. You are a member of a works righteous cult-- seventh day adventism, and if you think that your works will help you when you stand before God Almighty, you are in for a rude awakening! Get out of that cult and trust in the FINISHED work of Christ on the cross-- you have been deceived by the satanic doctrines of Ellen G. White and her minions. Repent!

  • @ProclaimHisWord Dear brother, such venom. Why are you angry? I am a Messianic Hebrew. You tell me to repent, but if I repent of my bad deeds the only thing left to do are good deeds, but you say that is works, and to trust finished works of Christ! You are one confused man. :-)

  • @AdventistTruth "Why are you angry"-- You are spouting the Galatian heresy of works righteousness and you want to know why i'm angry? was Paul angry when he pronounced anathema on the judaizers of his day? We are talking about the eternal souls of men and i DO get angry when i see and hear another gospel being proclaimed to the lost. Now, whether you are a messianic hebrew, seventh day adventist or whatever, it doesn't matter-- any works on our part in order to be saved will damn us to hell!

  • @ProclaimHisWord You are claiming to know what I believe. I charge you YOU with bearing false witness. I do not and have never believed in salvation by works. Repentance is a work of faith. You tell me to repent which means to do good works, and then you turn around and say (Faith + nothing = salvation) Here's what you are really saying (Faith + no repentance = salvation) or (Faith + continued rebellion = salvation) A doctrine of devils. I charge you with the heresy of "sloppy agape".

  • @AdventistTruth I am not claiming anything but going on your comments! The Holy Spirit convicts a sinner of their sins and shows them their need of a Saviour-- AFTER turning to Christ in faith to be saved, (Justification), then we are set apart by the Holy Spirit to be conformed into the image of Jesus Christ, (Sanctification). All those who are saved by Christ's shed blood will go on to bring forth some fruit, but those fruit are the RESULT of being saved, NOT the cause, Ephesians 2:10.

  • @AdventistTruth Now, i will issue the same challenge to you that i did to the other user: find ONE video of mine where i teach "sloppy agape" or "cheap grace"-- just one. The problem here is you people are mixing, or do not know, the difference between Justification and Sanctification-- they are two completely different things. Justification is how we are made righteous before a Holy God; Sanctification is about the lives we live AFTER we are saved-- the video is about JUSTIFICATION.

  • @AdventistTruth Finally, the bad deeds you will be repenting of is believing that your works will save you-- this is the ONLY work that God will accept:

Then said they unto Him, what shall we do, that we might work the works of God? Jesus answered and said unto them, this is the work of God, that ye BELIEVE on Him whom He hath sent. John 6:28-29.

All the works that we do AFTER we are saved were prepared by God before time began, Ephesians 2:10-- we will not be able to boast about them.
