  • I'm just going to hope you make another Summer in the City video this year

  • @giraffesdontgomoo If I'm there, I'll definitely shoot video. Whether I capture something worth posting is another matter. This one was a very lucky happenstance.

  • That's an amazing video. It really captures how people can (and will) come together in "times of difficulty." To me it feels like an homage to teamwork and friendship. This video made me very happy, thank you Mickeleh.

  • what joy! ..

  • lol Jazza is so cute ^_^

  • 0:40 lol Kristina

  • Jazza: Something, something, shinny cars. lol

  • I was running all over to try and find an umberella. The one i got broke

  • 1:23. So cute! Who was that?

  • In the hoodie, Jazza (rhymingwithoranges); on his left--screen right--Shannon (shannancy)

  • Oh no! I meant the person who got in your way of filming.

  • I was looking for people my age....I did not see one, maybe this explains why I feel a little out of place on the tube..

  • next time i go to another gathering, i'm going to get the group to sing a song just like this. Looked like so much fun!!

  • They have good singing voices!! LOL C:

  • Alright, Mickeleh, I've gotta know how this YT gathering thing works, I've heard about them for months and I'm dying to go to one! I'd throw one myself, but as I don't have a very large subscriber base I'm afraid no one will come. Any thoughts on what I could do?

  • The gathering thing seems to be much more firmly established in UK than US. So they happen more frequently. And you're more likely to find one happening in your town or a tolerable train ride away.

If you're looking for U.S. gatherings, Google and YouTube search are your friends.

If you want to start a gathering, reach out to YouTubers in your area--work together. Get in touch with folks who have sponsored gatherings. Ask them for ideas.

  • lol what an apt song

  • I try my best ^__^

  • Ooooh, the rain :) how very British :D

  • I live in Seattle. We have an average of 158 days of measurable rain a year. London has 153.

  • it was the 28th not the 27th :P

  • You are correct, sir. Thanks. Oops.

  • Aww this is lovely. Shame I was sat inside eating pasta at this point. Wait, what am I saying?!

  • Even though I wasnt there. It looked really cool the rain shower.

    Reminds me of April showers.

  • Maybe it's good I could I couldn't go on Friday... although everyone was quite cheerful about it! haha :)

  • that looks like a lot of fun! God I miss rain.

  • 0:40 italkstosnakes!

  • haha This was amusing. Looks like a fun day, despite the rain! I saw a lot of familiar faces :)

    -Julian

  • I love this amazing long take! So cute and wonderful! I love everyone's unedited personalities.

  • I worked in one of those buildings this is right in front of. Freaking awesome.

  • Good memories. :)

  • i always enjoy videos from you mickeall

  • That was awesome. And how did you keep the camera dry? Or is it a fancy waterproof dealie?

  • The camera wasn't completely dry. It's not a fancy waterproof dealie. But it survived. (Besides, I waited until the shower was almost over before venturing out.)

  • I live in San Diego.... I don't think it gets that wet ever, here :( Not even in Winter haha

  • Honestly one of my favourite SitC videos so far. It just encompasses the community in the strangest of ways; in the sense that even in godawful rain, we can all see a bright side. Thanks Michael! :)

  • yeah this is one of the best

  • LITTLE RADGE!!!

  • You are bold sticking your camera in the face of so many strangers, assuming they are all strangers to you, unless of course you have many many young British friends. Either way, I like this video!

  • It was a gathering of YouTubers. They know the drill.

  • Thanks Liam. It was a powerful moment. I'm glad I could catch it.

  • looks like a lot of cool people were there!

  • That was great. I liked the way you simply took the camera around to see all the people.

  • I stopped the rain! With my voice! My voice stopped the rain!

    Name that movie paraquote.

  • Ed, always singing isn't he? :)

I hope your camera was under an umbrella.

  • Nope... I risked it. The scene just looked too good to pass up.

  • At this point I was hiding in a phone box intimately close with Alex and Tom Milsom.

And by that I don't mean that they're brothers or married or anything. Although...

  • somehow i managed to escape the rain for the duration of the weekend :]

  • Frack but I miss you!

I'm very glad I got to see you while you were in London:)

This video is fantastic, I got no footage of the sudden rain, so I'm very glad someone did!

  • Miss you too. I miss everyone I met. And especially those I didn't.

  • KRISTINA !

  • There was a scary number of familiar faces in this video... I still kinda wish I could have gone to SitC: had I known about it earlier I would have tried to make arrangements. Oh well - maybe next year =)

  • Next year's dates are set. And there's an event page on Facebook. Hope that's enough early notice for you.

    Next year's dates are

    Friday, August 6, 2010 at 2:00pm

    through

    Sunday, August 8, 2010 at 5:00pm

  • Ha - you won't believe this but I may already know that I can't make those dates... doh!

  • Tell the organizers you want the 2011 dates, then.

  • Let's see ... Liam, Hannah, Ed, Tom, Orla, Jazza, Kristina, Becca, Ginger Chris, and a load of other people who I don't recognize.
