Why should anyone be scared of a spider? As long as you're aware that its there, and avoid being bitten, there is no threat. Not just Aussies are smart enough to understand this simple fact, surely.
I had to spray fly spray after watching this lol even though fly spray doesnt kill a whitetail easily..... they are like the terminator or the energizer bunny!
This is blatantly incorrect. The toxin has only ever been documented as being detrimental to about 10% of the population, that's the highest percentage i've seen in any of the studies, most in fact, hint that the pictures often attributed to white-tails, are more likely to be staphylococcus aureus infections or other bacteria, is should be noted that these usually only affect those with compromised immune systems.
Sad thing is I brought my newspaper in and when i went to put it on my bed a white tail fell out and scurried under the bed while i screamed like a baby and now i cant find it so i really shouldnt watch this cus its making me paranoid
yeah im australian too, and im well aware theres spiders around me. but i always hated the white tail or the fucking redback.. both of which im sure i sleep with -.- ffs, just when im about to hop into bed too!
I've never heard a better argument for not moving to Australia. Not only can you not swim in the ocean (sharks), not only can you not swim in lakes or rivers (crocs), but you can't even go in to your backyard safely. Nice.

good ol australia, id never live any where else born and greed, but we have all the worlds most deadly spiders and snakes and sharks and drop bears how awesome are we :D
white tail isnt vemonius at all it koz it eats daddy longs legs and contains bacteria on its fangs that kuase the dmg to the skin. tho the bite is painfull
Depends where you live. It doesn't matter if your close or not to the city, if reasonably green area or bushy you'll get spiders visiting. Had to deal with 5 White Tails in the past 5 years so almost 1 every year and 2 in 1 year once. I've caught 3 White tails in the house and released them back into the bush and killed 2. It depends where they are and what they're doing, if they are on the wall I'll spare them but if not you ought get rid of them while you can. BTW they dont like being caught.
@Rsizfun916 i could have watched this whole video without hearing that because as soon as i read that, i flipped out because a piece of lint touched my foot lol

My gf was bitten 12 yrs ago and she still gets pussy outbreaks on her foot near the bite spot to this day. I've lived here in Australia since the 60s and i never remember seeing these spiders at all growing up. It wasn't till the 90s that info started to come out about the devastating flesh damage a bite from these can do. I've watched them prey on other spiders also. I never kill spiders, not even red backs (they're very shy critters and not aggressive) but i kill these whitetails all the time
once i was going to make some nice burgers in the kitchen and i was so lucky to look up because i found this predator spider like 1 cm away from my face hanging on to its web and i didnt get a fright for some reason but i run to get some paper and i flicked it away from its web then as i continued making them i had this wierd feeling to look on the ground and i found it coming to my foot so then i got the same piece of paper and killed it
@gwallace12664: Probably because they are not fond of spiders no matter what species they are. I certainly would not like having a spider bite infection. -_- [shudders]
