  • You could have also mentioned that stopping the ball by the inside or the outside of the football makes the ball bounce back into the direction it came from and as the court is small any opposition player can take advantage of that and you will lose the ball

  • Passes should be fast-paced and into feet where possible.A pass traveling at speed can be turned into instant control using this method meaning that by stopping the ball you are actually speeding-up the game.

  • Use of the sole gives instant control so no matter how quickly you're closed down you can move the ball away from a tackle. Also if you are in space you're more aware of where the ball is sole so you can get your head up and look and make a better decision on what is the best action to take.

  • i no its kind of off topic but i play 5 a side and havnt played futsal before how much contact in tackles is allowed like presure on the player with possesion etc is it the same?

  • i find it hard to tell whether the pros they use their toe or the traditional laces shot when kicking across the ball. say the player is running down the right wing, and fires a shot into the top left corner. not too sure whether the player would use his toe or top part of the shoe. shooting across the ball with the toe seems very difficult and doesnt seem to generate much power

what shot choice do you recommend?

  • @jk2infantry Thanks for the comment. In normal games it really depends on the quickness the player needs to release the ball. If you see a player attack up the wing and the ball seems to rocket quickly off his foot, it's a toe ball. Also extremely useful after rolling over the ball to the inside and hitting a shot in the same motion. You can tell when players hit it with their laces when they really wind up and blast one with their whole leg behind it.

  • @jk2infantry As for recommending a choice, for me it comes down to quickness of the actual release. If I spot an opening and need to bury it, the toe poke is best, but can be difficult to control accurately.
