i dont think people realize how good jap bikes sound once you have done some work to them and in some respects they are better platforms to make your own chopper/bobber
I have an 84 shadow I wanna get this sound out of it. What did you do to get that? I like the look too great job on the chop. And I think this goes without out saying but.... really harley fag... You're a douche.
i have a 86 vt500 and you've pretty much done exactly what i pictured mine looking like great job with it could you tell me what brand and model the parts are? like the fenders seat bars forks etc.?
@AchilleasRockerMan this is a honda vt 600 vlx that has been painted and had parts removed i have one just like this that i am in the prosses of bobbing
i believe that in asia they have the 400cc model of these lovely bikes. And they call them steed. I own one, very reliable, although its only a 400cc, but hey, it has 2 wheels! and love riding it!
I always wanted a harley and i have a shadow with a bad tranny. I found a harley i could of bought instead of fixin my shadow, I thought about it and said, ''i love my shadow and rather have that over the harley any day'' now getting a whole new motor and going to have my baby riding gooood again!! I have a vt 1100c and it is just as fast and sounds just as good as a harley, even louder with my straight pipes on
Harleys Davidson vibrates a lot, the havent good fuel managment... and they arent confortable for long travels (because vibrations)... Maybe honda or Yamaha dont have that sound, but they have a "softer" ride, and better performance!
i disagree, a honda (not sure about yamaha, never owned one) can make a harley sound like a crotch rocket by comparison, it's all in the pipes..when you buy a harley your just buying a name thats been customized off the line, if you got the money i guess thats fine but i'd rather get something used and reliable like a shadow and customize it myself
that is awesome mate.. sounds sweet looks sweet and i beat rides sweet.. as for the tool about harleys yes mate harleys are awesome but why pay a shit load more for something that a JAP bike does anyway.. its just a brand.. pull ya head in ya turtle
sure Harley was the 'origanal' but Honda is just a different animal kinda like that Pitbull you probably own compared to the bulldog someone else owns. there both dogs and i would not f$%^ with either in a fight. live to ride don't ride to live!
To the haters please try to remember that Harley was not the first motorcycle co to use the v twin engine configuration. They were the first to "copy" the engine.Harleys are Indian copies...
Indian didn't. Harley did. In 1909, they released the 61 ci V-Twin 5D model, which put out a whopping 7 hp. That was the first V-Twin ever made. Not hating on Indians, but this is historical fact.
Hmm. Maybe HD had the first "production" V-Twin, and Indian's version wasn't sold to the public? Because I am relatively sure that Harley was selling them several years before Indian was. I think Indian started seeling them in 1912, but I may be wrong. It's happened before.
I am now the proud owner of this very bike. I love it!!! I bought it in July of 08 and rode it all summer and through most of the winter. the suicide shift was a little hard to get use to but now it's kinda cool. No one ever asks me "can I ride it?" because they know that the answer will be "probably not".
I think the sound is also awesome, really why do you need loud sounds...it will be banned soon anyway....

These Japanese cruisers are cheap copies of Harley-Davidsons. This Jap crap sucks. Harley-Davidons are original and real custombikes.

sounds like its being choked when its running idle.
did you readjust the carb after changing the pipes ?
it will always run a little funny because your rear exhaust pipe is shorter than the front
the sort of bubbling noise in between combustion is very common with v-twins (bubbling in between the bubbling hehe)
but its louder when theres an inbalance.
one of your cilinders is having a way easier time pushing out exhaust fumes
