@poolking36 I have a Chestnut Fade MCX too. Sign up to the Pearl Drummers Forum, and put it on there. There's a good amount of us who own Chestnut Fade too!
The problem with pearl is that no average person can afford their kits, but people who can afford it would rather spend it on a higher class kit. They need to lower the prices for theses kits.
@DrumYourFaceOff1 Is that a problem?! I would say; "for every thing, there is a price to pay", The drumkits from Pearl are all highclass drumsets, especially the reference and Masters series are topclass drumsets. Besides: Pearl has a much longer tradition in building/developing drumsets than brands like; DW,PDP, Taye, Mapex etc...This long experience you find back in the drumkit it self. Cheers!
ok heres how new kit thats exactly the same has the previous kit we just charge you lots more money and feel you full of bullshit sonor lugs they have copied sonor
lmao,....great made the rims thinner,...made the shells thinner,....an they do a fake wood effect lol!! isnt that what we have on a cheap set of mdf draws from argos? :P
@punkrockdrummer1990 From the look of the videos on your account, I would say you are not a credible authority on drums. sorry. P.S. learn to use grammar please.
@punkrockdrummer1990 No I'm just tired of people putting down legitimately GOOD companies because you don't like it. Plus, are you a drum maker, would you know what goes into making the shells?
@Bonhamman90 to be honet mate altho drummers hate to admit it,...there isnt a huge amount,....just think,....you can make drums from plastic an they sound good,....its all about the heads mate, comes to something when the best drums imo are 1970's ludwigs,....its funny really where drums are concerned at namm there isnt a huge amount that can be done to improve what we already have an its funny to see new series of drums coming out all the time an you read the stats an its just different sizes,
@punkrockdrummer1990 funny dude.. i have a 1971 pearl woodfiberglass kit that i think can burn the ludwig kit of the same year.... infack it burns just about any kit it stacks up against except pearl reference 2009
Can't wait to try these out. I was not a fan of the regular reference, but I loved the old Masters MMX shells which were 4 ply with reinforcement hoops, so going back to thin shells is a good thing.
@DenverDrummerDude I would consider this a Medium shell. Look at the thickness of a standard DW shell....<4mm...... or even a Keller..... 5 ply....... 3.3mm....and 6 ply........4mm....8 ply 5.4mm
@Mjbabycakes7072 True, I'm mainly saying "thin shell" when compared to the original reference. I reall don't like the reference standard, they sound dead to me, but I know some people love them. I think this would be more close to the Starclassics, which I believe are 5.2mm, and these are 5.4 mm. Pearl tends to use thicker veneers because of the scarf jointing, you can't do that with thin veneer, because they have to sand and taper down the ends, and if the veneer is too thin it could shred.
Pearl drums are amazing drum sets. TAMA cannot help you out if anything is wrong with your drums but pearl does help.Pearl drums are becoming a solution 4 drummers who faces trouble with their kit now around the world.
@Robt7605 You probely think your brand of drums you use is the best. Well its not. There is no best brand when it comes to drums and cymbals.Pearl has the sturdiest hardware. Pearl by FAR has the best comsomer service and warenty.
Pearl makes amazing drums. The only Pearl you probely have played is a Forum, sit behind a Vision, Masters, Session, reference or Masterworks and you will say Pearl is amazing. What company has the BEST selling drums in the world? O ya PEARL for the last 10 years.
I've been very disappointed over the last few years with how Pearl has been making their shells so thick to where tuning range is gone, but this new Reference Pure is a brilliant idea! Thank you! And a great upgrade of the new lacquer process for the Masters Series! Great Job!
@TheChristKnight7 Totally agree with you here. Reference was a hard sell to a gigging drummer when you have to haul around all that weight. Don't drummers have enough to carry? lol!
Got a new Pearl limited edition 5 piece mahogany kit with a joey jordison snare! Beautiful sound and feel! Its amazing!!
