  • Another reason to love Toy Story.

  • The bonus scene was a JIP. I want those 5 seconds or whatever of my life back! >.<

    Otherwise... nice message. ;)

  • Even after finally getting through all of these confessions without crying like a total wimp, I can't help it. Every time Woody says those four words, *BAM* the waterworks begin.

  • Cannot watch guy at 5:24 dry-eyed...happens every. single. time.

  • Woahh thank you so much for this it really helps me feel less alone, i just cried watching this! Love you all xxx

  • I find it ironic that some religious people demand that 'non-believers' be open-minded and respectful towards their beliefs and yet they are not as open-minded and respectful towards ordinary people just because of their sexuality. The whole thing of 'God loves everyone' seems very, very contradictory to me after reading some of the comments on this video. This isn't directed at anyone in particular, it's just the vibe I get.

  • this is the best It Gets Better video so far

  • I'm a guy, I'm gay, and the guy in the sky blue polo shirt is CUTE AS F&^*!!!!!

  • @MrTappedBoar That's a transgender woman. ^^;;

  • @MrTappedBoar GAY!!!!

  • To all 'holier-than-thou" Christians: Love thy neighbor as thyself. Treat others how you want to be treated.

  • This isn't just for gay people, this is for everyone who is having a hard time.

  • Wasn't Woody trying to tap Bo Peep throughout the first movie at least? Dude ain't gay.

  • @LPJeetkunedo he didn't say ''it gets better'' which would imply he knows personally, all he said was a word of encouragement.

  • This should be shown to gays and straights alike - everyone needs to see the look on those people's faces.

  • I cried so hard during this vid

  • i love the glee reference

  • Disney Cast, Crew and Imagineers posted their own "It Gets Better" video today!

  • I'm literally crying now! This is so beautiful! Way to go, Pixar! Stay awesome!

  • 7:21 looks like he gives great hugs haha:)

  • 5:40 is so damn beautiful

  • 7:19, i think everyone should get a hug. go give someone a hug right now...

  • WOODY LOOOOOOOOOOOLLLLLLL

  • 5:20-5:47 Broke me down<3

  • "Some people don't want to show to much gay. Not everyone is Kurt on Glee."

I found that amusing. VERY amusing.

  • @itsJoannaa haha i was JUST about to say that! GO KURT! It got better for him :)

  • I don't beleive in homosexuality, but I'm not gonna make that person feel like sht n tell them hurtful things just becuz of their sexual orientation. You have to respect their decisions wether u like it or not, and they're still human so u have to treat them lik 1. I still treat them as if they were straight cuz I kno a gay guy at my skool n another 1 is bisexual n im friends with both of them and luv them.

  • @peaceXloveXgrier what do you mean you dont believe in homosexuality? im not going against your opinion or anything im just genuinely curious

  • I grew up with Woody my whole childhood. Him telling me that, "It gets better." Is the most wonderful thing. It gives me hope.

  • I'm not gay, but I was really needed this today. Thanks Pixar :) <3

  • Someone please enlighten me as to why 28 people disliked this video?

This is the most beautiful, wonderful thing online, and the bravery of these people is just inspiring. Thank to them for this message. x

  • @StormyAlien Because some people are so invested in making other people feel miserable that they actively boo a campaign designed to end the current epidemic of youth suicides. Because some people are miserable themselves and won't admit it, so they seek to make vulnerable people even more miserable than themselves.

  • Everybody is equal, no matter the sexual preference, look, or the way they act.

  • You're more than welcome to hug me you lovely bear you!

  • I wish Jamey had watched this

  • Most of the people that work at Pixar weren't popular in high school because people who were popular in high school aren't successful :P

  • Woody's straight, not narrow. Just because someone supports gay rights doesn't mean they themselves are. I'm straight and I completely support my friends and everyone who identifies as LGBT or otherwise.

  • @YouveBeenTerrorized Couldn't have said it better myself

  • i cried at the last 3 seconds of the video... im only 15. and i grew up watching toy story and seeing woody on the screen again and saying that just makes me smile.

  • The ending makes me want to cry. So many childhood memories from watching Toy Story.

  • This is beautiful.

  • I'm a Christian. I can't fully support this message, but there's one this it says that I can completely get behind: Don't hate. Whether you agree or disagree, they're people all the same, and they need love like anyone else.

  • @BalmungSama0 Or how about don't judge others? Isn't that a big part of your religion as well? It needs to go deeper than simply not hating.

Nobody has the right to tell others who they're allowed to love.

  • @BalmungSama0 It's deeper than just "don't hate."

I don't particularly like going to church. It's not that I'm not religious; I'm just sensory sensitive, and it's torture to sit through a service at most churches. But the 2 biggest things I learned at church were to love everyone and don't judge.

I FULLY support this message. I love each and every one of the people in this video, and it's not just because they make great movies. :) No one has the right to judge. Accept people as they are.

  • @purplewowies I'm not judging. It's just that the Bible is pretty clear on homosexuality. Now, I'm not saying being gay is what's wrong. I don't think it is. It's homosexual lust and sex. It's almost exactly like how straight lust and sex is sinful if the person you do that with isn't your spouse. Straight people just have the option of marriage.

btw, just so you don't think i'm a homophobe, I have a few gay friends, and some bisexual feelings myself. It's a challenge.

  • @BalmungSama0 No, the Bible is not pretty clear on homosexuality. ^^ Otherwise, your choice, your way--so long as it's not a useless challenge for you, sending my support!

  • @lonanarcheya Sorry, but it is. Every time marriage is mentioned, it's between a man and a woman. Paul condemns practicing homosexuals (note: I only feel gay lust and sex is a sin. Not being gay. For an example of how this works, look up Father Seraphim Rose- a gay priest).

Since there is no gay marriage, and no sex outside of marriage, practicing a gay lifestyle is obviously a sin.

If you want an extreme position, the Old Testament was much more anti-gay.

  • @BalmungSama0 No, it is not. I understand the existence of black holes is not mentioned in the Bible, either. Old Testament AKA the Torah is up for interpretation by any rabbi today. Do look up some of those interpretations to prove that there is in fact NON-homophobic interpretations possible, that do not depend upon twisting the text. As for the New Testament... What WAS Paul talking about?

Obviously a sin? Just like being left-handed, black, or being an assertive human female?

  • @lonanarcheya Left handedness and being black are NEVER mentioned as sins. That was a new invention, relatively modern. Assertive females is relative, but women working was not mentioned as a sin, if that's what you're getting at.

He was talking about men who have sex with men, and male shrine prostitutes in pagan Greece.

Also, that's why sola scriptura doesn't work. You can't just interpret it an way you want. We also have sacred tradition; the true interpretation, back from the 1st century.

  • @BalmungSama0 The true interpretation...from the hands of people who were willing to kill? From the same people who believed the left side is evil? Relatively modern, indeed! Sinister!

Again, refer to interpretations. ^^ Martin Luther's is different from the Catholic Authorities', and the Catholic Authorities disagreed terribly with early Christians, and even more so with the so-called Heretics of the past.

  • @lonanarcheya Sometimes you have to kill. It's a thing you hope to not do, but there are sometimes legitimate reasons to kill. You wouldn't look at a soldier fighting for his family with such contempt.

Left handedness wasn't said to be evil until the 4th century, and even then it was a very minority view.

Look into the Orthodox Church. Their traditions are VERY similar to those of the first century.

  • @BalmungSama0 I've attended the Russian Orthodox Church for a while. The antisemitism (with my last name and family) proved too much. I gave up on becoming a monk upon finding that a lot of translation work is done backwards, and that many priests are themselves corrupt. Much better to be a non-practicing Jew, and use one's head with one's own flaws, than get stuck with that bunch's flaws!

  • @lonanarcheya Saying "well, which interpretation?" is hardly an argument. It's a question. Just because there are multiple views does not mean that its a relative subject.

Again, look into Seraphim Rose. The man was a practicing homosexual for a while. Probably had sex with his boyfriend a few times (though that's purely an assumption on my part, so take it with a grain of salt). Then when he joined the Church, he took the path of celibacy.

  • @BalmungSama0 Shouldn't joining the Church INCLUDE becoming celibate? Besides, the choice of one man willing to sacrifice a part of himself is not necessarily the right choice. Back in the old days, some Russians chopped off their sex organs...I never had the urge when I wished to become a monk. Religion IS a relative subject, unless you can objectively prove that Christianity in YOUR interpretation works better than Christianity in someone else's interpretation.

  • @lonanarcheya Also, you'll be hard-pressed to find a Rabbi who says that the Torah was in favour of homosexual activity. You know; considering that they were previously ordered to kill such people.

  • @BalmungSama0 Not really. ^^ I personally am aware of three. I do not practice (which worries those fellows more than who I date), hence I've not been exposed to too many interpretations of the Torah in my time. I personally prefer Einstein's Judaism, though I hesitate to call it an interpretation of the Torah (he ignored the book entirely).

  • @BalmungSama0 I don't wish to make this a big issue, but you must understand that any text is open to interpretation, and that given the sort of nonsense the Churches and Temples have been willing to pull in the name of political power and the illusion of social stability, there shall be a change in men's minds, though not in God's. Whose families are we protecting, whose traditions? Sometimes I feel sad that I am from Eurasia. We really made a mess with all the ethnocentrism.

  • @purplewowies But that siad, I still support these messages. Maybe not whole-heartedly, but the fact that they help cut down on the hate and persecution these people go through is fantastic. You won't help many people by yelling at them and telling them they're horrible. Love is far more effective.

  • Hey, Woody doesn't need to be gay, he already knows all about emotional trauma.

  • Thank you, Pixar staff! As a bisexual, this truly has touched my heart to tears! You guys made the greatest movies while I was growing up and now you are giving me a sense of hope that it truly does get better.

  • The guy at 5:45 almost made me cry.

You are all such strong, and amazing people. This makes me even prouder to be gay. -3

  • @Joshie102 he makes me cry every single time.

  • @Joshie102 He made me cry :') You could really see how happy he was! <3

  • I cried when the woman said she tried to jump off her dorm building.

  • Damn it .... Now I gotta watch all Toy Stories from beginning to end lol This was a great video and Woody at the end, thought it was literally 3 seconds, got me. "You'll be fine partner." jeez I was tearing up!!!

  • this is amazing

  • So woodys gay?

  • @TheRyukenhadoken Yeah, only gays can make such great movies ;)

  • @Willhudski whoa whoa whoa i wouldnt say GREAT. I liked Incredibles, but thats about it.

  • @TheRyukenhadoken then why are you saying gayness explains it? because gayness only makes things better.

  • @Willhudski no. no it doesnt. it makes things much more unrealistic and fairy-like

  • @TheRyukenhadoken ... let me know when you make a point that actually combats mine

  • @TheRyukenhadoken How is that worse than every day life?

  • Comment removed

  • the best 8 minutes in my life :'D

  • You guys saved my life.

    Thanks woody.

  • Transformers, Spiderman and Team Fortress 2 should do a "It gets better" Video

  • @captaintaco2345 I would cry my eyes out if Spiderman did one of these. he's my hero. he got me through rough times, thats for sure. ive got posters, comics, action figures..he's the best.

  • @66IvanXEllie99 @66IvanXEllie99 While I agree doing Superhero PSAs for this would be amazing, I don't think I'd pick Spiderman to do it. He's not very accepting of others himself.

  • @TaraKitaideHunter actually, Spiderman was kinda ignorant at his start. but wait till you see when he's older and mature :/ thats why he's the best.

  • When the bald guy talked, I started crying.

  • That was touching <3 Woody really got me

  • This made me very happy and I was ready to cry. Then Woody showed up and I immedately went "AWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!"

  • Comment removed

  • I'm straight and this touched my heart.

  • @g42mcombo my parents would take a sexually disoriented bastard like me, than a person like you, you are just hateful, and i feel sorry for you, and sorry that your parents couldnt raise a better person. o well.

  • I don't support this organization because of their supporting gay rights, but it would be pointless to argue over it because of different moral systems. The government has placed a minimal 'if it doesn't hurt others its ok' system down. And by saying all religions are equal (Saying theyre wrong essentially) has shattered any politically correct way of resenting this sort of thing. Seems harmless now, but I'm afraid at what this ever-expanding 'tolerance' will allow and restrict in the future.

  • @musiceditorguy wow you homophobe

  • So all the staff from Pixar are gay? -- I don't have anything agains it!

  • @RuthieJey yeah...thats the entire staff right there.

  • @RuthieJey No lol just those that showed. Others may not be haha.

  • I'm currently coming to terms with being asexual. Not exactly the same thing as being gay but the fright of being judged, the self loathing, the fear of how your family will treat you, etc, is pretty much the same.

Thank you Pixar. You've given me the strength. I'm coming out to my best friends today.

  • @Superdoglac I'm proud of you and I'm glad you found the strength to tell those close to you about it. Good luck, and keep with that strong spirit--it's inspiring.

  • aside from woody, the guy at 5:22 was the most emotional for me

  • love u woody!!!

  • That Cowboy is the most powerful thing on the panet

  • did they really get tom hanks to do the lil woody clip at the end?

  • @g42mcombo I couldn't disagree with you more

  • @g42mcombo Go and sort your life out you insensitive pathetic person.

  • Why do people write messages of hate and closed-mindedness on videos like this? The wonderful human beings behind this video are trying to save lives and help people come to terms with themselves. To say that homosexuality is wrong here in the comments is completely backwards when the target audience is suffering and needs a message like this more than anything! This movement is not trying to change you or hurt you. It's trying to help people who are in danger, and that is a most noble deed.

  • Comment removed

  • @g42mcombo people like you are so closed minded and I feel so sorry for you.

  • @g42mcombo This is coming from someone who thinks Hitler was a hero, a man who massacred millions for being Jewish. Also, it is said that people who are anti-gay are probably gay themselves. You might have heard this plenty but it is true. I should know, I used to be anti-gay and later on in life when my horomones kicked in I found that I was bisexual. All homophobes are either low-life scum of the earth, mislead, or as I've stated before, homosexual themselves. Good day to ya, my gay friend. :)

  • You guys and gals are awesome. My love to you all and thanks for this very touching video. xo

  • @g42mcombo 1. You have no right to spew your hate on MY profile page. If you wanted to have a legitimate discussion, you would have PMed me.

    2. Homosexuality has been documented in over 500 species on Earth. Stop calling it a "disorientation."

    3. It is more than a hormone imbalance, there are literal physical differences behind it. So as much as you want to believe it's not allowed to be called "normal," guess what, ignoring it or being in denial is more damaging, and there is no "fixing" it.

  • @g42mcombo Ignorance and bigotry seem, to me, much less tolerable. After all, it is ignorance and bigotry that cause fear and violence.

But let me guess, you believe non-heterosexuality is a choice, right? I hate to break it to you, but science has already proven that incorrect. Your ignorance, however, is a choice you've made.

  • @g42mcombo

    YOU make me sick.

  • @g42mcombo Well, since non-heterosexual people are paying taxes that pay for YOUR healthcare, perhaps you should utilize that and see a professional who can help you figure out why you're so intolerant and hateful.

  • Why pixar is so wonderful?

  • I'm so happy for all these people :D I prefer men, but I was bullied pretty badly in elementary and middle school so I understand that aspect. I hope they all have happy lives. At 5:22 I teared up. I'm actually a little jealous because so many found the loves of their lives and I haven't, but at the same time it makes me happy because I love knowing real love is out there. They bring so much joy to me with their movies, I support them all the way and wish them happiness <3

  • The way the guy at 5:21 's emotions show got me to tear up. This is so inspirational.

  • @g42mcombo y r u even on here saying rude things to ppl that r already upset and just trying to figure out their sexuality and if u trust ur gf then it wont be a problem

  • @g42mcombo Just because it's not 'affecting' you, doesn't mean your comments don't affect others. Just because a girl likes other girls, doesn't mean she likes EVERY girl. Just because you can make yourself look tough on the internet, doesn't mean your tough in real life.

  • @g42mcombo WTF is this message. You are either ok with it or you're not. You can't just insult people and threaten to beat them up and then say whatever I don't care what you do. This is hateful. Especially your usage of "dyke" That is a term of hate.

  • I burst into tears when I saw Woody at the end. Toy Story was one of my movies that I just watched when I was sad. I don't know what it did but it did something that cheered me up.

  • Woody at the end really got me. Thanks Pixar c:

  • [ I'm not Gay ] But , very great Emotional video =)

  • I may not be gay, but heck, I'm not passing up a free hug. Come here you big beardy bear!

  • So is 99% of Pixar staff gay? Explains how wonderful the colors are in all their films!

  • thank you pixar; so much for making this video. im not a lesbian; but a bisexual. i lean more towards girls and people tell me that its gross, sick, a "thing" from another world. i hate it, and this video helped me get through it.

    thank you.

  • my god woody gave me a freaking heart attack!

  • @nyc11104 me too dude me too

  • Oh wow. Just seeing how wonderful and caring and sincere these people are really really makes me want to work for pixar some day. :')

  • Thank you woody, for accepting me.

  • No Woody's not gay he's just a good friend

  • Im straight but i wanted to know does this mean woodys gay?

  • @TheTwisterProduction If he is, it would explain a lot wouldnt it?

  • I'm straight (whatever that means) and I found this message video very powerful... I have friends who have fought their gay demon in the past and I am happy to report that they all embrace their sexuality now with great joy and vigor.... It will get better!

  • I was constantly teased and bullied (from starting public school) because of my Aspergers, but during middle-school, I was very harassed by other students whom kept saying misleading and inappropriate remarks about my (a)sexuality... Now, since 2008 (and counting), I've graduated with an University Bachelors Degree; best moment of my life.

  • 7:59 I started to ball

  • so beautiful.

  • Comment removed

  • @violinandbass5 but he loved bo peep

  • @violinandbass5 uhh woodys not gay he wanted to get it in with Boo-Peep remember

  • :'( dang it, I cried.

    Beautiful video

  • @ImKyserSoze so those 20 or so people in the video are the only ones on the entire Pixar staff? That makes TOTAL sense.

  • @ImKyserSoze No, thumbs down, for lack of open mindedness and ignorance.

  • Thank you...:')

  • 7:58 the only good part of the video...

  • this was amazing! i think every young person, gay or straight needs to hear what that guy said at 7:03-7:20

  • 24 people support Lotso

  • if people cant be touched by this theres something wrong with them.

im not gay or bi but even i felt touched by this message

  • I saw woody at the end and started balling. I do not cry but woody was my childhood hero. Pixar, you are a group of amazing people. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you.

  • This is adorable ♥

  • So beautiful u guys are all amazing and hero and now i have more love for pixar then i already had

  • I couldn't hold in my tears when Woody spoke :'(

  • they is plenty of points in this video i can connect with them beacuse i have and sometimes do still feel like that, but the Trevor Project has given me hope. a few times in this vid i have cried, but the guy at 7:21 just made meburst into tears, i really do what that hug.

thank you everyone who was invovled in doing this vid, your giving me hope

    much love

  • Pixar <3! I want to work for you guys so bad.

  • Coincidentally, I'm wearing my Pixar shirt. I cried through the whole video. Thank you Pixar. This means so much to so many people.

  • I want a love like the guy on 5:22 smh..sigh I think I might cry this was so touching

  • :')

  • OMG OMG OMG LOVE YOU WOODY :D

  • Oh lord Woody, that got me.

  • "Such a stronger person to be gay." LOL!

  • : ' ) when they were talking about the show and tell, playing with his sisters doll etc. it reminded me that I had a Jessie doll that I used to play with : ) Thanks for the love Pixar

  • 5:22 cutest fucking thing ever. And I'm a straight dude.

  • I'm straight, these videos are just so touching and inspiring. and toy story is a big part of my childhood so that made me smile at the end. very good Pixar! :)

  • me throughout the entire video:

"i'm not gonna cry, i'm not gonna cry."

    woody:you'll be fine, partner.

me:OH, THAT DID IT!(starts bawlng like a baby)

  • something in my eye..
