Super fun to watch! I train Muay Thai and Wing Chun kung fu, but Karate looks like a super fun style. I see a lot of similarities with Wing Chun as far as the upperbody counters (we don't kick a lot). Great job guys!

I liked it. These comments are a little unusual though, I think that fake fighting teaches you a great deal about body manipulation and theory of movement not to mention its a blast. I bet these guys would tear it up in a real fight.

Unless you've trained all your life, everyday since a very very young age like 5 for example, this stuff is impossible to utilize in a real fight in all honesty. if you have trained all your life, I'd say this stuff would be, in reason, possible at like the age of 30/40... The amazing karate fights you see in movies (the more realistic ones) still would never happen I'm sure...

@NightRider2k8 You need to watch some Kenpo and/or Krav Maga (Though the last one its illegal to learn if you're not from the military) But yeah, some stuff you see in the movies ccan be used in real life, in real fights. There's also a saying that you need only 10 years to master anything (obviously if you are 30 years old it is a bit too late for martial arts).

But there are a few good Traditional Martial Artists in MMA. Look up Lyoto Machida or Cung Le. Machida especially is a true Karate practitioner who honors the traditions of Karate including its philosophy on Martial Arts and life.

@TakedaKarate89 I believe the purpose of any Martial Art should be to use it when necessary. Fighting in self-defense is the purpose of most Martial Arts. Combat sports have been a part of Japanese culture for centuries and Karate was practiced as a sport long before MMA appeared on the horizon. It's not all about violence to me there is honor in sports. Competition breeds better people. There is a downside to sports like greed and cheating but I support good sportsmanship.

almost every UFC fighter learned karate when he started to fight, and almost everyone of them got a black belt at shotokan karate.

shotokan karate is the base of the martial arts and every well known fighter started with it, so you idiots can't say that MMA is better.

@19Avix That's not true. Most MMA fighters started with grappling backgrounds. Mostly wrestling or BJJ. A handful of MMA fighters have a background in Traditional Martial Arts like Karate but very few of them are high level Black belts. Lyoto Machida is an exception. MMA is a sport. I agree with you that MMA is not superior. There is no superior Martial Art only better fighters. Karate definitely works but all disciplines have limitations. Nice video fellas.

Handling firearms is a skill in itself: Then there's human error: If you're being mugged WITHOUT your gun, you can either 1) Get mugged/raped/shot or 2) try to disarm him & strike fast IF you have the right martial art and you're really good at it.

Don't get me wrong, martial arts aren't the answer for everything. But a chance is surely better than nothing.

@TheReyman96 Wir machen beide seit ca 14 Jahren Karate, diese kleine Demo haben wir uns an einem Nachmittag ausgedacht und einstudiert und an einem weiteren Tag aufgenommen. Natürlich kann man Karate relativ schnell lernen, aber der Gedanke hinter dieser Kampfkunst ist ja nicht möglichst schnell möglichst viel zu können. Das ganze hat eher einen längerfristigen Aspekt...
