  • hmm, very cool. Now maybe i can switch from chrome to Opera xD

btw, does anyone knows the name of the song? It's amazing :O !

  • mazing explanation, very inspiring clip !

  • So I've been using OPERA for 15 years now, and for some time now this strange dragonfly has been sitting on my bar and I've been trying to figure it out??

So now I check again and all my searches turn up ??? Still noting,

WHAT IS DRAGONFLY, and what good is it to me?

  • fantastic

  • when editing a local file, why can I not save my edits? I make the edit, press enter to accept the edit, press refresh in the browser and the edit reverts back to what it was before I made and accepted the change. I've looked at the field manual and cannot find any info on simply saving my changes. What am I doing wrong? (working in windows fyi)

  • @HrafnNordhri

This x1000. These tools (Firebug, Dragonfly) are very neat, but totally worthless for me workflow-wise if they can't save/export the changes to a local file. If I have to copy/paste the edits myself, I'd rather work in a text editor from the start. Luckily there are some (hacky) workarounds for Firebug.

  • - Firediff lists the edits done in Firebug.

    - FireFile saves the edits to the server by communicating with a remote PHP file (but fucks up your CSS in the process).

    - cssUpdater does the same, but with a desktop application.

  • @T1nusk Fuck. Off.

  • @TheShadowman60 Thanks for showing us your constructive criticism brah.

  • @T1nusk Well, does Firefucks have extensions and widgets? Or a fully customizable browsing experience? Can you change the appearance of your general UI?

    Only Opera.

  • @TheShadowman60 Yes, yes and yes. Those things aren't exclusive to Opera in any way. Nice troll tho. My first message wasn't to praise Firefox, FYI. It was simply to show that both Opera and Firefox didn't meet my expectations in that regard, but that I found some workarounds.

  • @T1nusk I don't get why everyone thinks I'm trolling. :-7 But, i thought you were just saying "firefox is betr lolollolollo", sorry.

  • dragonfly is great! but still missing a javascript console =/

  • @BuGFiX000 It has got a javascript console ;). Start dragonfly and press esc or click on the symbol >_

  • @thco2 yeah! i've found it yesterday! It's perfect! Now i can get rid of firebug :)

  • lol

  • i'm still checking out all of the features of dragonfly so maybe i just haven't come across it yet, but i haven't seen any type of validator. does anyone know if ones included?

  • @terranceunce You can right click any page and select Validate. Unicorn - W3C's Unified Validator is a really nice one from the W3C.

  • @applelive4 thanks. i probably should have been able to see that for myself. lol i appreciate your reply.

  • Opera is the only browser that exists.

  • Very useful! Another thing why I love Opera so much!

  • Are they using Microsoft Sam for their advertisements? It sounds so awkward =/

  • @cilibinarii

I actually like it. I was wondering myself whether the voice is computer generated or read by a puny human, but I like it anyways.

  • @cilibinarii Ever heard of different accents?

  • @joreven Yes. I'm not saying it makes Opera bad, just that it won't appeal to a mass audience except their existing fanboys and uncritical beholders. However, today's public tends to want everything smooth, nothing uncanny. As in, they have to work a bit on their PR if they want to appeal to a larger audience.

  • @cilibinarii I don't see what they're doing wrong here.

  • I luv u opra!

  • This is just one of the many reasons why I love Opera. But hasn't some form of this been in Opera for a while? If so, why did this video get created now? Regardless, I have to say; Great work.

  • @sonickidnextgen Because until now it was only a Beta and Release Candidate. But now it is released as a Final my.opera.com/dragonfly/blog/opera-dragonfly-1-0-emerges

  • Though its named Opera Dragonfly, its actually a dragon :P So expect some fire ;)

    Great work Opera Team !
