as long as this is just messing around and performing at small venues its fine but if yall are serious you need to develop some originality that is obviously not there.
LOL why do people give people crap bout this he is carrying on his legacy makin sure he is remembered....Cause the Rock and Roll hall of fame won't.... Robert Cray-The first time Stevie and I played together was in 1979 at the San Francisco Blues Festival. We went to pick him up one afternoon for a barbeque, and he was dressed up like Jimi Hendrix - had a Jimi Hendrix wig on and a little short kimono.
Tommy's the real deal, sound man needs a little assistance, he's had better days though. Ditto on Christian Brooks! He made my SRV wrist band. Strap was a bit high at the time, ya know at the show w/ beer money running out and all. Looks great still!
All well said. Does anybody know where I can get a SRV strap like the one this guy has? I building a display case, and that's the strap like Stevie wore.
Christian Brooks leathersmith, guitar player, drummer and friend of Stevie's make those straps. It's custom made, so you could only order from him. You can't find that "SRV" strap anywhere else.
It is cool that you want to keep stevie's memory alive but to dress like him is somthin that stevie would not like at all. He would be the first one to say that you need to be yourself because there is only one you and you are somthing new and different than anybody else. Don't try to be like him because you will fail. Be yourself. Stevie would have respected that alot more.
ok , but this guy doesn't want anything else than to play SRV , loves his music , his style . they form a tribute band . don't expect nothing more , and it's all right with that .
18SRP-I agree totally, I play guitar and have my own group. When I started playing I was sucked in by SRV and for a while I wanted to be and play just like him. After a while I realized that I am not him nor would I want to be. I cover some of his songs because they are great songs but as far as dressing and singing like him I think it is kinda gay. We all love him and his music-that's why people are such fanatics about him but to totally emmulate it's kind of sad. Greatness is in originality.
What the hell are you talkiing about "have you heard about Voodoo blue???" Why would you mention a rubbish band like that when you see a video like this of a cover band for one of the greatest guitarists who ever lived, how dare you.
I think that was a misunderstanding. I guess you thought that rock band from Baltimore. That's a SRV tribute band from Dallas, TX what I mentioned. Check them out.
oh right im sorry man. I just got a bit carried away lol your right i did think you were talking about the rock band. yeah i will check them out. sorry about earlier, its just S.R.V is one of my altime fav guitaarists and i thought you were compairing him to that band i thought you ment. take care dude
Hey there, got a call from God today. He said to Stop the madness or you are going to hell. You are really pissing people off and there are going to be riots and anarchy amongst us there Prophet.
is that one of the first SRV sig gutiars? it looks exactly like stevie'. anyway, dude, get your own style, its cool and all to do a tribute song or something like that, but you're just not gonna ever be him. and if you're gonna do a stevie song, at least get his style down. c'mon man, stop this disrespect.
Yeah. His style is completely different. The real Stevie can't be replaced but not everyone seems to realize that. He was, and still is a legend. This man isnt a legend. I appreciate it that he likes playing guitar, but maybe he should try some different stuff than SRV.
I know what you mean and what a POOR copy. It's obvious he 'thinks' he's really Stevie. He can try with all his might, but he will NEVER be him. There will only ever be ONE Stevie Ray Vaughan. R.I.P.
He looks like he ate SRV!!!!!!
