  • wats up guys just wondering if anyone could tell me (i know its hard to say) but is the training generally difficult or confusing? looking tp put my application in just turned 18 please leave me a comment on my page rgarding this question thanks alot

  • ooooo ... ah wanna be a fireman cause then I can point abig scary hose at a house fire and destroy it with water.

    Bozo aka posers. Pathetic.

  • how cum they wear black helmet's for tha container exercise ? some 1 plz reply

thanks, great vid well done !

  • they are either covers, or they are old helmets, which have went black after being put through that container numerous times. you use an old helmet because it saves money and it saves your own helmet.

  • also.....it reduces each members visability to the other members....teaching them to stay together and not lose contact as they may not find each other again...gets them into the habit!

  • Its a cover to protect the helmet as they will be exposed to heat for a long time during training its just there as extra protection

  • cant wait to join

  • i can't hear the music steveo!!??!!?

  • Haha, 1.59! Is that a white helmet standing in the hot zone without the correct PPE? What a surprise.

  • I have tattoos all over my neck and hands....will this be a problem joining the UK fire force?

  • Yes

  • no, but if you call it the fire force it may.

    A fellow London FireFighter.

  • true... damm true

  • well done lads welcome to the best job in the world

  • i miss my training

  • Do you brits have volunteer companies in the U.K. or is it all paid companies throughout? - I might imagine you'd be able to do all paid companies but I've always wondered

Stay safe across the pond brothers!

  • We have wholetime and retained. Wholetime bein full time firefighters who work 2 days of 9 hours, 2 nights of 15 hours and 4 days off (a typical shift in most brigades.) Retained are part time firefighters who respond from home and don't serve at a fire station. They normally have a full time job somewhere else and provide par time cover hours. But everyone is paid- we have no volunteer firefighters

  • Oh, I get ya - In the states here our Volunteer firefighters are like your "Retained" firemen - we respond from home, have full time jobs somewhere else but we don't get paid ... some stations do a 'pay-per-call' system but not many do and the money is so little it's almost like not getting paid. Your "Retained" system sounds pretty appealing

  • Yeah u get paid a retaining fee whilst you are on call and then extra of u are called out to an emergency. Obviously not many people do firefighting because of the pay- it's for the love of the job but you should really get paid for putting your life at risk. I think it's crap that volunteer firemen there don't get paid

  • thats soon to change, we r getting a salery which is worse than what we are already getting payed

  • are u a retained fire fighter

  • No- don't live close enough to a retained station. Applying for wholetime now.

  • good luck im wholtime on london
