  • Game is pretty epic, albeit sad.

BGM is on par with Persona

  • i remember the first time i played this game..it was night and there was nobody at home, well it was fine at the beginning but every time i go far my body starts shaking more that i can't even read the words in the screen, i though that i was strong and don't feel afraid of anything but after playing this game i realized that i was really weak at these things and because of this i couldn't clear chapter 1 with the right ending so i give up playing and started watching my brother playing it ^.^

  • Seiko! ;(

  • I just play 999: 9 Persons 9 Hours 9 Doors, and Im starting with this game, I heared is by the same creators than the 999 game. But still on the first Chapter and its great!, serously, the athmospher, story, music, events, japanesse voices, its so perfect for such "cheap" graphics but it fits for the littles event/scenes!.

  • @Masuo15 It is a great game, but it's *not* from the creators of 999 -- it just seems like a lot of fans of 999 really like it, and vice versa, since they're fairly similar types of games.

  • @Wyrdwad Oh I see, a friend told me he read the back of the game and it say something about 999 and Phoenix Wright; so I give it a try; 999 was the best game I played on 2011 to be honest, I dont like scary games, but I can't deny this game have a lot of good points, even when it scares me.....

  • @Masuo15 - I almost thought the same thing. I did not beat 999 yet, but the feel was nearly identical. A large group being forcibly being taken to a concealed place, forced to split into groups and get out or die.

Everything you say I agree with - how everything together...as little as it may be...just works!

  • @JediPrime7 Exactly!, I was abel to beat the 999 after so manny trys and sadly a guide for the most hard endings, but I did all he puzzles by msyelf. This game is good and the puzzles wasn't that hard but... it just freaks me out!!!.

  • I cant help myself but to search this epic music. I love you sachiko!

  • I love this song so much. I never saw the story in CP to be that creepy or scary but it was really atmospheric and the voice acting was just plain perfect.

BTW: Do you have any info about Corpse party: The book of shadows being localized into english?

  • @turunen45 Not really. Its fate is based upon how well the first game sells.

  • @turunen45 On playstation network, it is has been at the top of PSP downloads, so maybe that is a good sign.

  • Sachiko san onegai shimasu.

  • This makes Uninvited look like a kid-friendly game.

  • the piano tune at the music room is also kind of creepy... does anyone who have that?

  • @CatherineHunterRank6 - I can upload that next, but it might be a while (maybe a week?). Watch my channel, though, and I'll try to upload it as soon as I can!

  • @Wyrdwad thanks... >_<

  • @Wyrdwad Does this game have a english version?

  • @MillenniumEarl014 This game does. But the sequel does not.

  • Recently finished the game. Man, didn't thought it would be that good. It's really a great game and the OST is awesome! This is one of my fave songs, reminds me everytime of Seiko and Naomi.

  • gave this game a try... freaked out playing it...and couldn't sleep in the end (shouldn't play at midnight) the music is addicting tho ><

  • this song is stuck in my head... T_T

  • Try going to sleep with this song suddenly playing in your head lol

  • @overlordsquall

lol this happend me too^^ I played the game before sleeping, then I was suddenly playing chapter 1 in my head^^

  • Oh man, Cleared this game. Quite nice storyline but they sort of left some issues dangling. But nice game and i recommend all to play. But man i was damn freaked out when playing,

  • Where's the one when your almost done with Chapter 1...?

    You know...

When the two girls separate and you control Seiko.

  • this is such classic horror-adventure music.

  • I didn't fine this game scary at all lol but the manga has alot of death seens lol

  • I love this song. It conveys the feeling of determination and courage in the face of impending danger and grief. The part that begins at 0:42 is particularly moving.

  • @noelangelo1 Played the game midnight. In my bed. With earphone. Lights off.

    Now i got insomnia.

  • @AtelierLucid

Yes, you never know when Sachiko might creep upon your bed with scissors, or when the shadow might slowly surround you and invade your nestled self who feels safe under the covers.

Mwa ha ha, the fate of those in the school formed by hatred.

  • Ive tried asking my friends to do this "ritual" which obviuosly they had no idea of the game or so..., saying so we wont be forgetting everyone even after we parted our ways..

Them : Cath... you really are eccentric....

Me : really.... ? teehee ... (with an evil smile.....)

  • Excellent game, can't wait until they translate book of shadows. If not then that gives me one more good reason to just learn the damn language.

  • @yemboy123 already did... nope still not working.... tho the game has a very interesting story also the only scary game that really scared me is the Fatal Frame series

  • great game too much blood

  • the game isn't that scary but its really fun

  • @TheExligh24 Ok big shot play it alone at night with all the lights out and wearing ear plugs

  • @yemboy123 But I thought that was the ONLY way to play Corpse Party?

  • RING TONE GETTO !!! xDD

  • It's weird that THIS is the closest thing to "happy" music in the game so far. At least I know that I'm (probably) not going to die when I hear this song.

  • @Barrylocke chapter 5 is pretty happy

  • @Trannol Yeah, the music in Chapter 5 could be described as happy (I'd say it's intense, or hyped, personally). At the time, I had only played Chapter 1 though.

  • @Barrylocke Haha I thought the same. The song made me feel safe :P

  • @Barrylocke What about that catchy tune in Chapetr 5? lol

  • creepy, yet epic. im loving this game, but too scared to keep playing

  • @midnightthunderboy4 too scared to play an anime-styled game with third person view and unrealistic graphics + sexualy-tinted humor? are u kidding?

  • @CaptainBlackSparrows There's a type of game that scares you because of "BOO!" type or gore, like Resident Evil or Silent Hill, or basically almost every American / Western Horror. And there's this type of game that scares you Psychologically, like Higurashi, Yume Nikki, Ao Oni, and such.

This game is clearly the second-type. Nevermind the style and "unrealistic" graphics, for some people who likes to get mindfucked psychologically, it's scary.

  • @AtelierLucid It would be scary if it weren't anime-styled graphics and japanese sexually tinted humor. Just because of that it isn't scary. Higurashi is an anime i've watched and later in the episode the humor fades away in 'scary' parts.

  • @CaptainBlackSparrows It's not exactly "scary", more like "creepy".

Also, sexually tinted humor? I recall only the beginning part of the game has said humor in it, the later is more to mindfucking and creepy side...

  • @AtelierLucid

I classify Ao Oni as a "BOO!" type. There's nothing unusual or troubling. Granted, I haven't played it, but I have seen playthroughs of it before. Saw playthroughs from another person and I'm still calling it a "BOO!" type. Yume Nikki and Higurashi are more of the psychological type, so those I will compare to this very easily. Ao Oni, I don't get how it's any more than "BOO!"

As for Silent Hill, it's a 50/50 in my opinion, as a few are psychological.

  • @midnightthunderboy4 Chapter 1 ends with something shocking..chapter 4 extra ending as well...and the whole chapter 4 is shocking itself...haven`t played 5 yet...2 not much to worry about

  • @ultimatelife11 yeah i managed to play up to chapter 5. Theres a shitload of puzzles to do here, since its the final chapter and all

  • @midnightthunderboy4 that makes two of us

  • @midnightthunderboy4 Haha, me too!!!!

  • man im not ever gonna do that fucking ritual

  • I can't stop listening to this song. 6 more days!

  • i cant stop listening to this song... then it reminds me of the trailer and i feel sick...

  • @nolixxus hahah Lol....imagine how you'll feel when you actually know how the children got killed

  • @Korezawr you know something i dont, dont you?... tell me! i demand it! ಠ_ಠ

  • @nolixxus this is a pretty tricky game with a lot of psycologic trick that make you feel terrified...which is pretty awesome for a 16bit game

  • ITS COMING TO AMERICA BOYS

  • @aziankidFTW When Jhonny when!!!??

  • @ForeverTwinkee It comes out somewhere between the Fall in this year. But its for the PSP (PlayStation Portable) but its not a remake I think its more like a version for the PSP console. There is also a manga or comic that relates to the game. So if you would like to read the manga to find out what the game may be like or the originals intentions of the game send me a message and I'll show you the link to it (it's quite gory)

Don't forget to check out the trailer for the PSP version

  • @aziankidFTW - It kinda is a remake, actually. The 2008 PC version was a really major remake of the original 1996 PC version, and the PSP version is a minor remake of that -- updated graphics, added art stills, full voice-acting, etc.

Also, FYI, the manga is based on the game, not the other way around. The game came first.

  • I want this game so bad (even if it looks pretty old), the game/music seems very solid. D:

I already finished all the latest chapters of the manga and I need more! ^_^

  • i assume its not in english anywhere....

i wanna play it so badly too after i read the manga!! > . <

  • @TheNextBrockLesnar Coming to America this Fall for PSP :D

  • @TalesOfGod - where did you get this news? i never heard of it

  • @anzacmiraio - Just go a Google search for XSEED Corpse Party.

  • @anzacmiraio Check gamefaqs for corpse party and check release dates and it says Q3 2011 and check on youtube for the trailer for the us version that came out a while ago.

  • @TalesOfGod oh ok thx dude!

  • @anzacmiraio You're welcome ^.^

  • @shiveryshiva - A bit late in re-addressing this, but I just wanted to let you know that I've been playing the full retail version of Corpse Party recently, and have confirmed that the glitch you and I both experienced is NOT present in the full game. It was ONLY in the demo.

So if you do ever play the full game, you needn't worry. It's still a bit wonky programming-wise, but there are no game-breaking glitches whatsoever up through chapter 3, at the very least.

  • exelente musica ,me encanta voy a descargar el juego !!! ^_^

  • I bought the full game no glitches at all :D. but im stuck on chapter 5 please help me if you can.

  • @Keiichiforyou - Sadly, I haven't had time to play the game in earnest yet, but it's next on my list. (:

  • anyone knows the name of the song that appears in the trailers? i can´t found it anywhere

  • @poderx - If you mean that vocal theme, it seems to be "Confutatis no Inori" (Prayer of Confutatis), performed by Artery Vein. It's on the Corpse Party PSP soundtrack CD (which does exist, but is hard to find, as it's only available with the game's limited edition box-set, which is ALREADY out-of-print).

  • @Wyrdwad Thank you very much =D

  • The song is really awesome.

But why is there no english version of the game? Playing the japanese version makes me feel I miss the story (because I dont understand what they are saying) And it makes the game even harder to play when you not know where to go next. I was traped in a room and couldn't find a way out...

  • @shiveryshiva What game you played? Maybe the demo is bugged but the retail version is perfect.

  • @shiveryshiva - In the demo. Not sure if it's been fixed for the full game or not. I did notice that another glitch present in the latest PC demo *has* been fixed for the PSP demo (there was a spot in the middle of the infirmary that kept reacting as if I were looking at the desk on the north wall of the room whenever I'd step over it), so that's encouraging, at least.

  • @shiveryshiva - I had that same experience! It's kind of surprising, but even so, the game was good enough atmosphere-wise that I'm willing to overlook a glitch or two.

  • I agree, absolutely awesome song :)

  • Awesome song, indeed. Now I want to hear the rest of the songs. :)
