@yahudiprince - I am not disputing the fact as to his having been a rabbi-nor did I say, or infer, that there is anything wrong with Jesus Christ having been a rabbi-my answer was in regard to the fact that Jesus Christ is not the G_d of the Jews-nor is he our Messiah nor savior! We as Jews are perfectly happy contrary to repenting, and turning "to his son" Jesus/Messiah as our savior. We don't have to fear our G_ds wrath, we are his children and he loves his Jewish children.
@patricmanuel the Ladino she sings in is is a cross between spanish and language spoken in Bosnia (former Yugoslavia) but I don't think there are specific words in this song that come from Serbo-Croatian...
@istra2009 Sephardi (Ladino')s diaspora from Spain took them to all aver the Mediterranean, that includes the Adriatic coast, hence the familiarity with the song, the Muslims in Bosnia where part of the Ottoman empire thus, a settlement just enjoy it......
@patricmanuel Ladino like Yiddish is a dialect of something mainly and Hebrew. In the case of Yiddish, it and Modern German were rooted in Middle German and then they both evolved. Yiddish depending where it was spoken also had some other languages thrown in. My parents were from Poland, our Yiddish particularly for common household words had some Polish thrown in, f.i. the word for tea kettle. With Ladino, similar evolution.
@algeriandream2008 The ancient Hebrew word for France is Tsarfaht. Algeria has that French connection. Is that what you are thinking? Because the Jews from the Iberian Peninsula (Spain and Portugal) emigrated all over. To Italy and then on to Greece and Turkey, to the New World-especially South America, and to European seaport towns because they were merchants. Big Sephardic synagogue in Amsterdam (!).
i love this Jewish song
